We drove down from murrells inlet, a place known for seafood, to find what I would consider even better fried seafood. I had the shrimp and scallops fried. The batter was light. I think it was just a quick roll in flour and seasonings, unlike the crispy thick batter you find at most places around here. It let the flavor of the seafood really shine through. I also ordered the crab salad which I thought was a little mayonnaisy. Maybe they were trying to stretch the portion? Unfortunate because the flavor of crab did not come through much. I would also suggest they put silverware on the table like they do the paper towel roll, also extra tarter sauce and cocktail sauce. We had to keep calling back the waiter which took awhile.
You can't beat the food and view at this place. Plan on hanging out and drinking and socializing on the deck!

I wish there were two categories for restaurants. One for food and one for service. This place would get slightly higher than 3 stars for food, and zero for waitress.
First on the food. I ordered she crab soup and it was a 10. Nice chunks of crab, although a small portion size. My friend ordered a grouper sandwich and it was full of yummy grouper. The "side" of coleslaw was good, but a joke to call it an actual side it was so small. So all and all, food good and fair prices.
THEN there was our horrific uninterested waitress. She acted like she wanted to be anywhere but working in the service industry. As well she should be. After asking for something, which she never came back with, a VERY nice male server took up her pathetic slack. Not once did she come back and ask us if we wanted something, fill our waters, or even give us our check. I hope the owners of this place read this and figure out who was working last Thursday, and get rid of her. I would never come back if I saw she was my waitress.

The Big Tuna is a MUST if you visit Georgetown!!  Has a laid-back feel with very friendly staff, great view of the water and fishing boats that come in at the end of the day. Menu is mostly seafood, affordably priced and the crab dip is delicious! Parking is free on Front St. and adjacent blocks. Owners Bucky and Angie were very friendly and went out of their way for our family celebration. The carved wood sturgeon sculpture in the new addition (opening any day now) is amazing. Welcoming vibe. Love this place!

Did not have any food, but very cool place to visit. Prices looked good, good selection of beer. They are expanding to the storefront next door. Bucky is a great host and owner.

Menu is simple and short and everything is great. Check out the full size wood sculpture of a sturgeon while there

This place is awesome and service incredible! The she crab soup is to die for and fried flounder is amazing! Yum! We are from the north and this is the best sea food we have had - seafood right off the boat, enjoy!

Go ahead stop in if you are wanting to hang out back and get some sun. However, don't order the shrimp po boy it only had 6 shrimp on it!!! I was disappointed that a place right next to the water would only have 6 shrimp on a po boy. The staff was friendly offering the use of a koozey for our beers.

Don't go to the Tuna if you don't love seafood! But, if you do love seafood this is the place for you! The inside dining can get a bit smokey. The best spot to eat is out on the open deck. Great beer selection! Loved the fish sandwich and the calamari!

Take note, this place is actually in the 800 block of Front street. It's a shabby, dockside fish shack. Cheap beer. Cheap food. Tasted quite good for what it was, which is two star grub.

Bottom line: If you're nursing a hangover this is the place.

Good waterfront place to grab lunch or have a beer. Great crab cake sandwich. Walk the riverwalk after.

We found this place while driving down the coast to Charleston and decided to give it a try.  Glad we did, because it was awesome.

We sat out back near the boat landings, where the owners have built this little rustic shack of an eating area.

We got a grouper sandwich and an order of seared tuna.  Everything was super fresh, clean, and tasty.  Afterward, we walked down the dock and through the downtown area.  Great visit.
