Billy's Sports Grill

We tried to have dinner here with friends last night and were extremely disappointed.

We arrived at 7:30, sat outside on the patio  and ordered. The food arrived around 8:00 BUT a band arrived also. They were really, really bad. Although playing inside the music blared outside on terrible speakers. We had to shout at each other to be heard  while trying to eat.

The food is way, way overpriced. My wife and I had the grilled salmon. It was over cooked, tasteless and dry. The grilled vegetables amounted to about two tablespoons of dried out flakes that were unidentifiable as to plant species. I ordered the rice side dish also but it was just about half a cup of boiled gummy, unseasoned white rice. The poor waitress had not a clue. I asked her for S&P but she brought two peppers and then disappeared. She came back and one of us ordered a dessert.
After 30 minutes of waiting, still NO DESSERT! I finally went inside to the nearly empty building and told another waitress. We finally got the dessert but it was still frozen. All this took nearly TWO HOURS!!!!

A word about the band....It is NOT appropriate for family groups to have to listen to a rapper sing about "sticking it in" somebody.

We will NEVER go to Billys again.

PS: You can get great grilled salmon and twice as much side dishes at a much lower prices at other places in Tuscaloosa.

This was my first time to Northport.  Billy's is located right in the middle of the really cool, classic looking downtown area.  

They have a huge front patio with plenty of shade.  It sits on the street, so there's always plenty to see.  The inside looks like it has been completely redone and is spotless.  Huge TVs are everywhere, in case you are there to watch a game.

We were served quickly and the kind waitress got everything right.  I had the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken.  I asked if they could make the chicken "buffalo" style and they did without any hesitation.

This is a cool location and a great place for food and drinks.  Oh, and the wings...  they are a must.
