Black Dog Bar & Grill

As the owner from 2004-2009, I will be the first to admit that we have had less than good luck with who has been running the place between September of 2009 and August of 2011-- but Carl and Dee have been in there making the magic happen at the Black Dog since May of this year, and you will NOT be disappointed.  All meat is smoked in house by Carl - a true professional in the field.  With Dee in the kitchen cooking, you can't go wrong.  Things have been unsteady the past few years, but everything is coming together now.  Stop in and see for yourself!

You need to try it again.  

I ate there labor day weekend and it was fantastic.  I travel around a bunch in the south and Midwest and have had a lot of pulled pork, this is the best pulled pork I ever ate.  

The owner smokes his own meat as needed, so anything like prom or brisket is fantastic.

And then there is the smoked cheddar.  Go there and try it.

When this place opened several years ago it was a 5 star joint for the Crosby area.  Then the ownership situation started to change every year or so, at least three times.  My most recent visit revealed terrible service, mediocre food and probably me writing this restaurant off for good.  Tragic as it used to be awesome.  They USED to have ribs you'd become addicted to.  

I won't return unless someone else is paying or whomever owns it now figures out whats what.
