I have tried out this place twice now on two different trips out to Parker, and both times I left thoroughly disappointed and extremely frustrated. Granted I went into it trying to compare them to the pirates bar In needles and it definitely doesn't even shine a light on that place! The service is terrible! They are slow, short and very standoffish. Heaven forbid you ask them to check on a drink or food order you placed 15 minutes ago, especially since they never got put in. I am the first to understand that mistakes happen, but it is all about your attitude when addressed, and this place is full of attitude! What's even more frustrating is after dealing with the bad service you het rewarded with over prices drinks that are very weak. When your out on the boat all day you just want to eat and relax and enjoy some great company and there is nothing that ruins that more than bad service and paying for crummy drinks. What I will applaud them on is that the food is pretty good, the decor is nice and the have boat slips in the back that are nice and roomy! If they would work on their service they would so do much better!!!
Review Source:The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because we really liked the bar area and chicken strips two days ago. Tonight we are not happy. Dinner says included all you can eat salad bar, yet they did not have it and did not adjust price. Shrimp cocktail tasted great but was supposed to have six instead we got four, again no price adjustment. I had a Philly Cheese steak sandwich which was not thinly sliced, just a bunch of pieces of tough meat. Hubby had dinner special chicken pasta which was OK, but dinner was supposed to come with all you can eat salad bar but no salad bar. Don't advertise something you don't have. We will go back to the bar, but we won't be going back to the restaurant. Service was excellent, but we felt sorry for the girl for all the apologizing she was having to do. I blame all these issues on mgt. I grew up in the restaurant business, and this is not how you run one. I'm not seeing a big future here. Which is really too bad, wanted to see it make it.
Review Source:We've been to the Black Pearl several times. Â Love it every single time! Â Steak & lobster on Fridays is a great deal....wonderful food and good price. Â The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff is knowledgable with good skills. Â We keep going back expecting a good time and great food and are never disappointed :)
Review Source:This is the fourth time I've been to this establishment, and it's our last. Today we went for breakfast having had breakfast there 2 times previously. Even though the service had been mediocre the food was decent and they have a great view of the river. Prices are moderate (7.99 for an omelet). When we arrived there were two other couples in the restaurant. We promptly ordered our meals as we didn't want to have anything that might disrupt our service as we have had poor experience in the past. A party of 8 arrived after us as well as two other couples. The party of 8 and the two new couples were served and done eating and we still hadn't been served. Even though we didn't complain the waitress knew we had been waiting a long time. The waitress stated that our meals were late because there was not enough room to cook my wife's pancakes on the griddle because of all the potatoes they were cooking. Now this is a new restaurant and only about 20% full and they couldn't keep up. After about an hour my wife an I left, as we had still not been served. We went to Strokes and had our meal in 10 minutes, and there were lots of people there. By the way my wife had pancakes. I guess Strokes has a larger griddle. Previously we dined at The Black Pearl for dinner.. It was Friday and all steaks were 50% off. A $30 steak was $15. Good deal, right. Well, the steak was worth $15, but it was not a $30 meal. The baked potato was extremely small and just a few vegetables. When we tried to reorder cocktails, we didn't get them until we had finished dinner. The service again was poor. As we live on the Parker Strip, we have talked to a lot of people who have had poor experiences at this restaurant. However, being fair minded, we gave this place 4 chances- no more!
Review Source:Awesome setting and great decor.  Get a seat by the windows for an awesome view up and down the river or sit outside at their fantastic beach bar.  There are lots of places where you can tie up your boat while you eat.  The menu is limited, but everything we tried was tasty.  On the downside, it is very expensive for what you get. The first time we ate here we had two hamburgers one beer and  hot wings and paid $50!  The next time we were more careful and got away for $30, but that is still a lot for two good but fairly ordinary burgers with onion rings.  Then again, nothing right on the river is cheap.  Also, they are clearly still getting off the ground.  There was one server/bartender, one helper, and one cook, which meant service was slow.  There were a couple of other guys walking around but they didn't do anything to help out.  They are also making an effort to have lower cost alternatives -- check the stuff on the little stand on the table.  None of it is on the menu and it is more reasonable.  They also have half price steak specials ($10 - $18) on Fridays and $10 Italian night on Sundays.  Overall, I will go again but I sure wish it wasn't so expensive.
Review Source:One of the best looking pirate themed portrayed  restaurants and properties I have ever seen...if was about the property they would get 5 stars... However the food and the service was the worst I have ever experienced.  We went there with a large party of about 25 friends and family back in late August.  Ordered halibut...it was undercooked and still frozen, wife's plate was steak...it was also bad choice...to top it off the aircon was broken...do it right or don't do it at all...we ended up eating our kids French fries...I hope the next time I go there its 5 star food to match the atmosphere...they can only get better...ill give them another chance next year.
Review Source:The food was good. Service was friendly but a little slow. Only had one server (also the bartender) in the whole outdoor area. I recommend the chocolate nachos and the onion rings. The burgers, chop salad, chicken sandwich, and chicken nuggets were not great but not bad. GREAT atmosphere!!! Someone put a lot of money into the decor of this place. If you're in Parker I'd recommend checking his place out just for the novelty of it.
Review Source:Went in for breakfast and we were the first people to get in there besides a family of three. The menu was pricy, but we thought maybe it was because of how much food we would get. The waitress took about 10 minutes before she took down our order for drinks. She came back 5 minutes later and took our order for breakfast. I ordered the "meaty burrito" which was about 9 dollars. We waited for about 25 minutes and still no drinks. I am usually a very patient person but it was ridiculous. The two waitresses were then serving another family who showed up after us and had their drinks right away and brought out their food. When we politely asked if the drinks were coming she gave attitude and said they were working on it. From where we were sitting we could see her talking in the kitchen. About 10 minutes later the drinks came and shortly after the food was served. The "meaty burrito" was good but was a little bigger then the size of a small el monetary frozen burrito. After we ate we were still hungry and regreted trying it out. I would reccomend going to Roadrunner and buying a breakfast burrito which was cheaper and triple the size.
Review Source:I have heard the restaurant was higher end than Parker may continue to, when you go to the river for drinking but see how they try to cater and set them apart from others around. Â Don't see the local patrons and regular business caring it threw off season.. The out side bar is a good time, happy with my service.
Review Source:Start in the bar for happy hour!! Appetizers are pretty good and drinks are cheap!! The calamari was pretty decent, the "nachos" were yummy, and the onion rings are sweet and very good. Beers are cheap, don't bother with the margarita it's not worth the discount.
We stayed and sat in the main area for dinner. The BBQ burger was awesome and I had the apricot chicken that was super tasty but not worth $16 :(
Overall it's spendy but so is everything on the water! It's good food and the decor is amazing!! It's worth going to for a nice dinner on the water in your boat.
First time at the black pearl. Great decor, doesn't seem like it should be in Parker. Food was not impressive for the price. Granted my friend and I didn't order entrees so we may give it one more shot. Ordered a wedge salad, and I usually love them, but this one was about ten bucks and it had maybe one slice of bacon altogether and about one nut. Plenty of bleu cheese crumbles though and not much iceberg. Usually a wedge will fill me, this was the most disappointing wedge I've ever had. Also ordered the clams on the appetizer menu and they were yum. My friend ordered hot wings and they were not hot (spicy) as the menu indicated, they were mildly warm. We're in arizona, come on step up the heat! Wings Good but lacking any heat. They also got a side salad...very small and $4. We spent $40 for two and left hungry. major disappointment. Also we were the only ones in restaurant and waitress barely refilled our drinks once.
Bar was hopping, looked like a great time if you were up for a drink on the river. Don't go to this place hungry though, you'll be gravely disappointed.
A place like this is probably needed in Parker. While other restaurants in town are decent, there really isn't any place I would consider even semi upscale. Â This place at least attempts to class it up a bit more with the quality decoration, drinks, and food. Â
Service was a bit slow throughout our meal as it seemed it was for the table seated behind us. But with the drinks still arriving fairly promptly, we couldn't complain much. Â Drinks are definitely the most worthwhile thing here so far with an inventive mix of cocktails that deviate from the standard assortment of margartias, daquiris, and such. Â My burger with pineapple and teriyaki was pretty decent topped off with some good strong swiss to balance out the sweetness a bit. Â The wife's macadamia crusted halibut she said was pretty good, even though she did encounter a bit of a chewy section in it. Â This place definitely has some room for improvement in the quality of the food to justify the much higher prices than anywhere else in town. Things are good, but not that good. Â Hopefully the atmosphere and great view keeps people coming enough and they can work the kinks out.
This is a beautiful new restaurant on the river next to the existing pirate-themed bar. The ambiance inside is fantastic, there is great attention to every detail. Service was fast and friendly. The boat docking area in the back is very nice, and there is docking up front as well.
The food was tasty, but the portion size was disappointing. I had the soft shell crab sandwich, and it was great, but very small for the price. The side I chose was coleslaw, which was also small but tasty. Some other members of my party did not like the coleslaw, but I enjoyed the creaminess. We all ordered lunch items (salads & sandwiches) rather than dinner, as the "Captain's Table" items such as ribs, steak, ect. were much more expensive. The small portions left room for dessert, and the six of us split a large slice of mud pie, which worked well.
