A combination of Mad Max, Water World, and Easy Rider. The Bar in Desert--as I like to call it--is a very special place. After a 15 minute dusty off-road ride, you arrive thirsty and ready to party with some awesome live music.
I like that the place is totally off the grid. The giant towers are actually swamp cooler systems. And the eletricity comes from solar panels and is stored in a huge collection of powerful lithium batteris (near the restrooms). Check it out.
This is more of an outing than a meal. Â 5 miles off-road to get there rocks! Â And the place is truly cool to check out. Â Loved the place, really fun. Â I didn't think the food selection was all that impressive - upstairs it was hamburgers (no cheese) and hot dogs. Â Downstairs had better food eats from what I understand. Â And the beer selection was a little boring for me. Â But, hey, an off-road adventure for a few drinks - Â it's totally worth it. Â I'd go again.
Review Source:We were a bit unimpressed. Â It's not really our scene and I think all the 5 star ratings threw me off. Â It's definitely a worthy trip just to check it out, but we won't be back. Â The food upstairs is bland and the wait to get the food is ridiculous, but the food downstairs was pretty good and service was fairly fast. Â If you don't get there early enough there is hardly any seating in the shade which is a must for this time of year.
