The "Meh" classification afforded by the two-star rating pretty much sums up "the Blue."
I grew up in Cold Spring and always held the establishment in pretty high esteem as  go-to special occasion fancy establishment. As a grown-up, I can confidently say that was wholly unjustified.
Lackluster, greasy food, average to crummy service, and truly unimpressive ambiance. With a bar set at "Better Than Good," I suppose they manage to clear it.
While I have been tepid on the place for some years now, my last visit really put a fine point on my opinion that the place sucks. Fresh from a flight and uninterested in the Thursday Night All-You-Can-Eat Pasta Bar, I opted for the salad bar for a hefty $10.95. I cannot believe the iceberg lettuce and mealy tomatoes really cost the owners anywhere near that amount. While I would have just chalked this up as garden-variety disappointment, it was hard to ignore the entire long island ice tea spilled on my husband and still charged on the tab.
Truth of the matter is I'll probably find myself there again, but I refuse to believe that being the only restaurant in an town should make it "fine" dining.
