It is by far the best hookah place I have been at so far. I am sad that they are no longer able to serve any of there old food and drinks due to the smokeing law that was passed not so long ago. Their spinach and artichoke dip was the best in town. But don't let that discourage you from coming in and trying all of the flavors and their unique experience.
Review Source:This is one of my favorite places. In the world. It's so unbelievably cool and ran so professionally. The shisha is awesome and so is the staff; The price is right and the atmosphere is top-notch. It's everything a hookah lounge should be. One week my roommates and I went three days in a row. It was best week ever although our throats suffered slightly ;) A liquor license would be nice but then it might actually change the mood in there which is perfect as it is. Quiet, calm, mellow, even during the weekend it's totally chill. This last time we went was during Welcome Week and the streets and bars were the most ridiculously crowded (and obnoxious) I've ever seen East Lansing and even then Blue Midnight remained very, very cool. We sat down right away and had a delicious Christmas Morning hookah and the volume was always low enough to chat and unwind. The only bummer: because of the smoking ban they had to get rid of all of their open container food and drink. Which means no more spinach artichoke dip that was so so yummy. And even worse - No more looseleaf tea. Blue Midnight used to have the most amazing pots of tea. Pumpkin spice and cinnamon tea always hit the spot and went so outstandingly perfect with the hookah. Appropriately soothing to the throat and absolutely delicious. I miss it so much I try not to think about it ;______; This place is open late so treat yourself with something a little unique at Blue Midnight!
Review Source:This is one of the best places to go in Lansing for anyone over 18 (they will ID!). After a night of drinking, or a long day of classes/work this is the cheapest way to relax with friends. Enjoy great music, great flavored hookahs, great food and great people. Best hummus in Lansing, best Strawberry/Mocha shakes (my personal mix) and a perfect mix of music that almost anyone will enjoy. Create your own flavor hookah, or ask about some of their tribute night or house mixes, everyone has a favorite. Very friendly to newbies or seasoned vets of the hookah world.
Review Source:I am obsessed with this place. They are open late so you can come here after the bar and chill your drunkness off with a hookah and some spinach artichoke dip. (seriously the best I've ever had!) This place was started by a brother and sister. They are super friendly and great at running it. It is really chill and they have really unique coals.
Review Source:Only went in once to pick up some Shisha, but that was enough to keep me coming back. You walk in and the place is really chill, not pothead stoner chill, but relaxed chill.
The tabacco they use is Starbuzz, one of the best you can buy, and the people are awesome, knowledgeable on the tobacco and patient enough to explain to you their selection, and why you may want one over the other. I have a $200 hookah, but I can see myself heading in there once in a while to grab some food and smoke because their hookahs are legit.
The hours kinda suck because I have to make a special trip to go out there, i'm not typically out at 7pm, but in their defense I can't imagine a huge demand earlier in the day... Still totally worth the trip.
Blue Midnight is a great place to chill out with a couple friends. Their hours are kinda funky: I think 7pm to 2 or 3am. Great hookah with great addons (such as juice to replace the water). They make their own tobacco flavors and some of them are just superb: my favorite flavor is Sex on the Beach. The staff are always very friendly and are very on top of replacing your coals as necessary. They can also provide great shisha recommendations if you are having trouble deciding.
Another thing I noticed is the music in this place always fabulous -- very chill. I recall hearing mixes that included Incubus, Bob Marley, Oasis, and Death Cab for Cutie.
Blue Midnight also sells various hookah supplies that you can purchase to stock your own hookah setup. Since my roommates owned a hookah, we went to Blue Midnight on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to buy shisha and sometimes coals. It's a great way to treat yourself when you get tired of buying run of the mill shisha from Oz or any of the other places on Grand River.
They also offer hookah tastings. You can ask to be placed on an invite list for these Sunday evening events. For $10 you will get snacks, drinks, and the chance to try a whole bunch of different shisha flavors.
