I won't troll and leave a long, disparaging review here. I will simply say, if you respect yourself, do NOT eat the food...

Took forever for food to arrive - and the place had several empty tables so it's not like they were busy.  I had pulled pork sliders with some sort of fried onions on top.  The onions were cold and hard so I tossed them to the side.  Everything else was just ok.  One good point:  good locally brewed root beer.

Good food and service. Nice respite from the crowds in Lake George. Will definitely come back.

Stopped in for lunch last weekend with my wife and mother in law as we were in the area and hungry. Tourist season hasnt really ramped up yet, so a lot of lunch spots were closed for the season.

After trekking around a bit, we ended up at the Blue Moose. It was not a good experience. First off, theres a sign at the door telling you to wait to be seated. In fact, this sign is at both doors (front and the deck at the back). We stood there for close to 10 minutes before a server yelled across the bar to just seat ourselves. Not a good start.

We ordered 3 sandwiches in normal time, but were waiting and waiting. Constant affirmations from the waitress that our food was on its way were met with a complete lack of food. More of this, and more of this occurred. It wasnt until a couple seated at least 30 minutes after us received their meals that we realized our order probably wasnt put in. We noted this to the waittress, and (to her credit) apologetically enough she told us the food would definitely be right out. The definition of "right out" in Lake George apparently means 15 minutes.

Now for the food. I guess it was good enough. My turkey reuben was hot and good, nothing special. My MIL's said that her pulled pork sliders were great and the fries were crispy and hot. My wife ordered a Turkey club, and the sandwich came out with turkey, lettuce, and bread. No cheese as mentioned, and no bacon at all. We told the waittress they forgot the bacon but to forget it since we had already been waiting for more than an hour at this point. Again, wifey said the fries were hot and good. But, this generally happens when they forget to make your food and have to make it fresh.

When the bill came, the waittress said she took 50 percent off the bill for our wait. Quickly doing the math, despite the 50 percent off claim on the ticket, only about 20 percent came off. I guess the math is suspect too. Now, we werent looking to be comped, nor did we ask for it. But if you say you took 50 percent off a bill, then do it.

Just would like to add that this poor review, in my opinion, is probably more based off of our personal experience rather than an overall trend. As I said, the food was good, other than the lack of bacon on the club, but based on the service that day, we wont be back.

The server was not aware of the names of any beer that they sold. We ordered an IPA beer and got a pale ale. We also ordered a local brewed beer and received a free 1/2 glass because they ran out. Received the bill from the less than friendly server and was charged full price for the free 1/2 glass.  Will never return.

Large portions of very well-prepared comfort foods.  We've tried a number of the restaurants along Route 9 and have a new favorite.  We'll definitely be stopping again on our way through.

Cheap mayo cheap cheese. Good for nachos and beer. Day staff hardly cared. What else is news? 10 buks Philly cheese hardly any steak and too much imitation Velveeta. Out of fries. Total waste of 50 buks eats someplace else

Everything a roadside bar should be.

We got there at 11:27AM- they opened at 11:30.  As my friends and I cheers'ed our first beer of the day, Steve belted out "it's noon somewhere."

It was noon at the Blue Moose and the beers were a'flowin and the grills were a'grillin.

I ordered the "famous" cheese steak sandwich- it was awesome.  It was an actual steak.  Not steam-umms or sliced up and robbed of its flavor- a full on steak smothered were cheese, onions, mushrooms and peppers.  The bun was nothing special, but it is a roadside bar.

I think it was $12.95 and worth it; a great value.

The beer bottle list is expansive, the drafts somewhat limited, but I couldn't work my way past the $2.00 PBR special served in a solo-cup.

For a bar so unassuming they take their business seriously and deliver on great food  and experience.

Had dinner here on Saturday evening a little after 7:00 along with my son, my brother, and my sister in law while vacationing in the area. This was our first experience with the Blue Moose, and we had high hopes for the place. We entered and were brought over to the dining area facing the deck and the road. Our waitress approached us about two minutes later and introduced herself. Drink orders were soon taken and brought to our table fairly quick. My brother, sister in law, and I each agreed on the prime rib. I split and eight ounce with my sister in law, while my brother had a twelve ounce and as for my son he ordered the whipping post burger with just sauteed onions and seasoned fries. Everyone felt satisfied with their dinner. The service is very welcoming and friendly. The wait staff is hard working and want to ensure you the best service possible served with a smile. As for the amtosphere, it was not so much to look at or admire but we were not bothered. The view of the deck was nice at least. The restaurant was a bit crowded, but that was a positive sign. Their prices may be seen as a little high, however for the amount and quality you are given it is well worth spending a bit more. The surrounding area is filled with many reliable places, you just have to try different ones to see which are best for your appetite and the money.  I would recommend The Blue Moose to anyone looking for a nice dinner out with the family or close friends, and also to those vacationing in the area who want good memories to take back home with you. Overall rating is a 4.5 based on such a great experience.

In a land of chain restaurants, this treasure trove is just begging to be discovered. It is overflowing with scrumptious food that will even plead the pickiest of kids. The bar is hopping and the TVs are of high quality. A suggestion for someone who doesn't know what to order? We loved the prime rib, Madame Butterfly, and Finger Lickin' ribs! Bon appetit!

Food was decent. Not the best, not the worst. I would like to see what else is around the area. I got the prime rib and it was warm, not hot. I got the 12 oz and I was very full. I usually eat a lot, and this certainly filled me up.

Good ribs, good steak sandwich, good fries.  The service was good.  Pass on the chicken wings unless you like jumbo fatty ones.  We sat outside and it was nice.

Food was alright, service was passable, prices were slightly high of fair, the moment one steps in the door if not a local prepare yourself for the hairy eyeball. I really can't complain too much, but there are better places to get a good meal for your money.
