In the pre-Yelp days I maintained a personal journal of memorable dining stops. Â Blues Bayou (or its same-location predecessor) remains memorable as an oasis in an area where finding credible fast food was a challenge. Â The music was great, and appreciating blues, the geographic lineage to "King Biscuit Time" was particularly special. Â I'll also remember this being the place where I first really enjoyed fried catfish; it wasn't the rank, muddy tasting fish I had previously eaten. Â Folks in this area are often a bit cold toward outsiders, so there was no surprise. Â There seems to be an inexplicable difference in attitude when crossing the Mississippi River. Â The Blues Bayou experience was, however, an enjoyable one.
Review Source:This restaurant is really fun. It also serves as a Blues club, and the performances can be really fun. As a dining establishment, the food is really great. The menu has a wide variety of items, including items such as steaks, shrimp, and alligator. Also, their salad bar is to die for. I recommend the grilled shrimp dinner. The only thing that needs improvement and which causes this review to hold a 3 star rating is the service. This restaurant is still relatively new and has a lot of kinks to still work out.
