Kings fans: what we have here is the DeMarcus Cousins of sports bars; the right look, with all the potential in the world, but carries an attitude issue that will always be a liability.

PRO's: tons of flat-screens, good variety of games, billiards, great sports decor, above-average bar food (sliders are great, cheesy bread is madness)...great atmosphere for a big-game or a fight night

CON's: point blank, worst service in the state. Not sure if the staff really cares though. Can you spot the server or bartender who's almost sober? Me neither. Long story short, be ready to wait 30min for beverage #1, 45min-1hr for appetizers, and don't expect a smile or a "see ya next time" as you leave...more like a "C-U-Next-Tuesday"...OK I've said too much...

Finally a place to hang out in Antelope.... BUT!! Its not as amazing as i hoped it to be :(

PROS.... Lots of cool games like shuffle board, pool tables, darts, arcade games and karaoke. And some what good food. Clean place. Just remodeled (looks way better)

CONS.... Service sucks (takes forever to get food 20 mins to get menus). Karaoke WAY TOO LOUD. The staff is too busy chatting taking pics and hanging with friends to pay attention to anything. Drinks were expensive. No dance floor.

Probably wont go back unless i have NOTHING to do.

I swore I'd never go back to this place. However, a friend of mine told me it had new management and was better. I was tired and it was happy hour so I didn't have the energy to fight his suggestion. Got there and the place was more than half full so I expected a beer in 20 minutes and food in an hour. What did I get? Beer right away, and surprisingly good food in 10 minutes. I mean it was really good. Service was good too. Everyone was attentive and took our orders quickly. We were happy and invited our families to join us and they were also pleasantly surprised. I gave it 3 stars because I'm still smarting from my last experiences. I want to make sure this is a trend rather than a lucky night before adding another star. For those of you going try the mini-burgers. They are a great bargain and very tasty. Also, the whole vibe of the wait staff, cook staff has changed. I sincerely hope this continues because I'd love to have a nice place in Antelope to hang out.

Seeing so many negative or just so-so reviews here, I wasn't sure what to expect. Maybe it's on the uptick or something, because I personally didn't see anything to justify the bad reviews. Maybe I caught it on a good day? Dunno, but I thought it was decent.

What an improvement! From what I hear, a new manager took over a few months ago. It use to take us 40 minutes to get a beer...seriously. NOW, it took 1 minute to talk to a server, 3 minutes to get a beer and give her our food order, and 15 minutes to get our food. We thought it might be a fluke, so we went in again, Mother's Day. (I was in the mood for a Steak Salad and beer for lunch). What a great decision! The service was excellent, AGAIN! I'm so glad they finally got their act together. It's great to have a local bar where all ages can go and shoot pool, play darts, shuffleboard, or sit in a booth and talk with friends.

Love this place. Great food, great atmosphere, great cocktails and selection of beers. We've been going in there since they opened and have always been satisfied. Sometimes they are a bit understaffed but nevertheless, they always try to offer service with a smile. The service was never spectacular but they have a new Manager in there now going on six months and things have DEFINITELY improved greatly. They have a lot of special events like karaoke which I think really brings people together and gets the customers and employees to interacting. Sometimes the employees sing with customers, it's great!. Their food is very inventive and unique, they tried a fancy menu for a few months but as not enough customers appreciated it they scaled it back and simplified it, but we're okay with that. Although I loved the fancy food. My kids love the video games and we love to bring our friends. They are definitely trying to make positive changes and even have done quite a bit of remodeling inside.

Service is much better now that I sit at the bar. Cool people, cool bartenders. $1 tacos!

Check this place out with some of my buddies. Never even heard of it before my visit. Tucked away in a shopping center it looks like a kids joint from the outside. To be honest still looks like that on the inside as well. I am not a big fan of going to places where I decide to drink at being joined by others children. Yes, Bluto's is a kid friendly environment. It's is a restaurant and bar with pool tables, a couple games, and from the looks I'm assuming they support some local kids sports team. Which is cool if you have kids, myself personally I don't I like the little guys and I like being around them when the environment necessary. I didn't try their food. I will give my bar tender 5 stars. I don't recall her name, but she was very personable and pleasant. Great customer service.

Bluto's is one of the few real restaurants in the Antelope area and I so desperately want to love this place. The food is great, the décor is appropriate for a sports bar, but.... Well. Let me start from the beginning.

Today was my fifth visit the Bluto's and I come away with the opinion that it is a great idea put forward with lack of experience. On each visit, I noticed the same deficiencies. First of all, no one ever greets customers walking in, despite the fact that there is usually someone at the front desk. Today there were two older men engaged in a conversation over some paper work that never looked up... even though there were four adults walking in the door. Once seated, it is always a long time before anyone approaches the table. Always...

The restaurant seems very cheap on restaurant accoutrements. Silverware is limited. I had to ask for a knife to put mayonnaise on my burger. The servers do not have trays... When asked if we would like refills, the server picked up our glasses and took them to the back. When she returned (without a tray) she sat the drinks down and I wondered.. is this my glass? Is it new or the same glass? Over all, every time I have visited, I feel like they don't have any kind of system. Service is always slow. and there is the overall lack of professional attitude.

My wife had received a gift certificate from a legitimate source that had been purchased at http://Resturnats.com. It was valued at $25 but required you spend $35. With burgers costing $10.00 each, that isn't really an issue. A few weeks prior, we decided to use the certificate and went to Bluto's. As we walked in we started towards a table when a waitress approached us and advised they couldn't serve food that day because none of their kitchen staff showed up. What? Where was the owner? You can't let your business suffer because employees do not show up.

So today, we decided we would go back and use the certificate. We presented it to the waitress as we ordered. She took it and placed the order. After our meal, she brought the bill and we saw that the $25 had not been deducted from the bill. She didn't say anything so we assumed it was an oversight. We pointed it out and she explained that the manager was looking at the certificate because they don't accept them anymore. I almost came out of my chair. I quietly but sternly advised her than in California certificates that were paid for must be accepted and cannot expire. She said that manager was considering if he would accept it or not. I explained that it didn't matter if he accepted them or not, I would be deducting the $25.00 with or without his permission.

A few minutes later, the manager showed up at the table looking somewhat nervous saying he had never seen the certificate before. We explained that it had been purchased on http://Resturants.com and that we had gotten a different story shortly before he arrived. He did end up accepting it, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Bluto's has the food of a great family restaurant with the experience of a dive bar. My guess is that Bluto's will not make it to the next year unless it comes under new management or the current owner has unlimited funding. Too bad... I so wanted to like it.

So my friend and I were looking for a place to meet half way between our houses for a girls get together and drink and another friend suggested this place. So from the outside it looks a little scary because of the blacked out windows (don't let it fool you). Inside it was very large and clean(even the bathrooms)! There was a good mix of music, a couple pool tables, and a bunch of seating (both booths and tables). We sat at the bar and had great service. The drinks were very good and reasonably priced. As for food we only ordered the bread sticks and they were amazing!!! We will definitely be coming back here soon and bringing all of our friends.

YEA! Finally a place for sports, food, music, and dancing...ahhhh...ugh...not so much... :(

Man, what a disappointment. I prepared for the worse after seeing all the other reads about this place and it didn't take long to realize everything posted was pretty much...ummmmm...RIGHT ON THE MONEY! Way to go, Bluto's, for making yourself the "less popular, lil step-brother" of "Dick's" (Last Resort)...and not even trying.

PROS: (yes, despite it all there are a couple of things) good number of TV's to catch any sporting event anywhere within the establishment, karaoke night was fun and entertaining. ...and that's pretty much the end of it. :(

CONS: Service was true to form...non-existent (waited 25 minutes to be served from the booth)...the food was cold and just a notch below "sports bar grill" quality (sliders and wings), and the prices were a bit on the high side.

BOTTOM LINE: Probably won't be coming back until in the FAR future...

Let me start by saying that I admire the hard work that the Blutos owners went through to get and keep an alcohol license in this neighborhood. (go in and ask them about it!)
It is the only bar locally and for that reason, I'm on their side.

My husband LOVES the food, and the fact that he can get a beer a few moments away from our house. So a Happy hubby is great news for me.
He likes fried stuff, I don't, but the sliders are great.
It is really a Boys bar.......

This bar is trying to form a community, karoke nights, comedy etc. and I will keep coming because of that. If this bar was anywhere else, I'd have rated it lower, BUT it's MY LOCAL BAR, and I will support it.

(Please sort out your margaritas, they're watery and tasteless) Apparently the beer's good, but I don't drink beer.
4 stars for being local and the only local place.

EDIT: Dropped to 2 stars.

As I said before, I'd love to love this place. It's local and it's the only place to get a drink in the area. However, last time we were there (November?), a fight kicked off between some girls who were worse for wear (drunk?). The place was almost empty, but a fight took place, not one of the staff approached us (a table of 3 women and 1 guy) to apologize for the unruly behavior. My husband and I were not impressed that we think it was one of the off duty bar staff that was fighting. Sorry, but NOT impressed. Class yourself up a bit and we may be back.

This place sucks! Went in straight to the bar no one greeted us (group of four).... Food was decent not anything special... I went to the bar a second time after getting our first round of drinks and food which took 20 mins.. i asked if she know how to make a patron margarita she said yes and came back with a nasty drink no alcohol in it at all and tastes like lime and water it wasn't even sweet at all..The bartender was really rude she really need more training didn't even smile the whole night.....Never ever coming back anymore!! One star for the poor azz service!!!!

I've only been here one time, and we had a large group for a friend's birthday. The service was great, especially considering they only had ONE waitress managing the whole floor! I see others complaining about the speed of service here. I think they should hire more people to help with that.

Karaoke was fun. The guy running the karaoke was very cool. Drinks tasted good. Yeah, I'd go again. As long as a couple of the people that were there that night singing aren't.....man they can't sing! LOL

Pros: Close to home, they have alcohol.

Cons: Everything else.

Well, the food is okay. Nothing to write home about. The service is a disgrace, however. The waiters/waitresses don't have designated tables/areas like EVERYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD, instead they just seem to randomly pick which tables to wait on. It's so unorganized and inefficient, it makes my head nearly implode every time I go there. WHY?!?!

So, after an imaginary coin toss decides who your server will be, you still wait a long time to have your order taken. Maybe they're just respecting your privacy/giving you time to decide, but how much time does a person really need? This isn't The Cheesecake Factory (by any stretch of the imagination); the menu is easy to navigate and when I'm at a sports bar, I would usually like to order a drink within 30 minutes of sitting down.

One Sunday during football season, after waiting a little over 20 minutes for our waitress to come take our drink orders, my friend and I decided it would just be quicker to get our drinks at the bar. So we went to the bar and ordered the bottomless mimosas (a great deal, actually, if you are going to spend a Sunday there watching football). We ordered refills on the mimosas from our server. No biggie. She didn't come around that often, so when we went to order our second refill (probably 1.5 hours later, I mean this girl had pulled a vanishing act for 45 minutes), she said something to us along the lines of "Boy, you girls sure are putting those away!" To reiterate, we'd had two small mimosas over the course of an hour and a half. When I've gone to other places with bottomless mimosas, the server has worn a groove in the flooring from having to refill my glass. I was not "putting anything away" that day.

They need to improve their service. Sadly, this is the only bar/grill in Antelope, so when football season returns, I'll probably return there. But I'll cringe when I do.

In a spot with such potential Bluto's is a welcome sight for us Antelopians that have very little to choose from when it comes to restaurants. (grocery stores and gas stations on the other hand..) but I walked out saying "lets get it together Blutos!"

Most recently a group of four including myself dined here during Wednesday night karaoke with a http://restaurant.com certificate. It took 10 minutes after being asked to seat ourselves for us to get water and another 10 to order. 3 burgers and 1 chicken marsala. 15 minutes later the cook came out and said the marsala needed a refire or something else could be ordered. Not a big deal, refire no problem, but we all sat there without any food for another 15 minutes. The salad wasn't brought out first that was ordered with the marsala so while the burgers came and started being eaten, the marsala-orderer was without any food.

The food (when it gets there) is ok. It is a good burger, but I would charge a max of $10 for most of them (range $10-$15). The chicken marsala was tasty and cooked very well, and each couple was treated to a "lava cake" dessert for the delay. (sauce on top of cake, not really a lava cake but the gesture was appreciated).

From here we were ready to leave but it was another half hour between getting the check, trying to find our waitress after she took our cards (she was having issues with the certificate apparently but did not tell is that). It was frustrating. I would ask that a server or whomever communicate with the customers because we had no clue what was taking so long, just that we were done with waiting for excessive amounts of time.

If the service wasn't so maddening this would be a great spot to come for dinner. Karaoke was a blast and the group of people all seemed interested in a good time, fun singers, (some were amazing)...but please for the love of...business, yelp, Antelope, good food...improve your service. Pretty please!

the service SUCKS. this place should definitely have more than one waitress & one bartender on a saturday night. it took me 17 minutes to get a water.

other than that the bar food is okay. if you check in, you get two whimpy burgers which are two small burgers with thousand island dressing, grilled onions & some other stuff. just be sure you order them BEFORE you're hungry so you can receive them while you're hungry & hopefully before you take a bite out of their pool tables.

The wait staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice, but the food was meh. We just had water and it took a while before our burgers came up. We each ordered different burgers, but both didn't really have any flavor to them and the patties were so thin and the burgers overall were kind of small. I think it was just the lettuce I was mainly tasting. They do have a lot of tv's, but I think if we ever go back it would be to just play pool (although it doesn't look like they have a lot of room). We left that night and I was still hungry.

We have been here three times now and I keep hoping the grill staff has improved, alas it hadn't. The food is decent and a step above bar food, my side salad was one of the best I have ever had. Our drinks were drinky and we were happy with them but we were able to finish two margaritas before our chicken sandwich and fish and chips came. Well over 45 minutes, making us miss the movie we were planning on seeing. We would go here more often but with little ones there is no way we can spend upwards of an hour making them sit still. The wait staff was very attentive and stopped by often to check on us. We had a coupon that we were told we could not use so we planned on bringing the kids in to try one more time.

We went back on 4/1/12 and oh boy did it get bad. After waiting 40 minutes for our food my tritip was cold, the menu said it came with broccoli and I got some sort of carrot, mushroom, bell pepper medley, and my sons peanut butter and jelly was rock hard and with the smallest smear of peanut butter and jelly on it. On top of that my husbands pizza was still doughy. We spoke with the manager and she took care of the meal but we won't be returning. Four times is more that enough chances to get it right.

I've been here on 3 different occasions and every time I had a similar experience.

Let me start with everything I enjoy about this place:
+ Numerous TVs. Makes it perfect for watching Sunday football because literally ALL the games are on.
+ The food is pretty good, actually. Bottomless mimosas and all you can eat waffles on Sundays :) !!! I'm there! The hot wings are yummy too, along with the garlic fries. I tried the omelets too, which were decent.
+ Location! The first sports bar in Antelope!

Things that I don't particularly enjoy about this place:
- Kind of pricey. I don't think the food is expensive, but the drinks kinda are. This isn't a club downtown where you can get away with charging me an arm and a leg for a drink.
- Every time I come here it's all girl bartenders. Of course, this really isn't a problem. But can you guys be fair and give girls a shot at ordering drinks too?!!? Stop paying attention to the old men, I'll tip you too, okay?!?
- Worst. Service. Ever. Each time, I have caught myself complaining about how long I'd been waiting. It seems like there is always only like 2 servers max trying to work hella tables. I'm not sure if Blutos is just being cheap and doesn't want to hire more people, but seriously, they need to read these reviews and upstart the service at this place. Ordering something is like yanking teeth out, but a very looong, painful experience. You wait to first ask the server for something, then you wait to get it, and then you wait again when you have to reask because they forgot after the first time you asked. Drink refills take at least 15 minutes. You can't really blame the servers though because they need more people working! Stop being so understaffed!!
- Useless hostesses. They know nothing. Not even the times that breakfast ends. Last time I went there was no where to sit, but there was one empty room right when you walk in that was empty. We asked if we could sit there and she said, "oh, there's no TV if you wanted to watch the games," so we got stuck in a different area with some obnoxious fools. When we were leaving, the room was full of different parties WITH two TVs. Not to mention it took at least 5 mins for her to decide where we were going to sit. Basically, walking in and asking for a seat for a party of 2 was just an extremely awkward situation.

I really hope to review this place again soon and say the service has dramatically changed. The longer they wait to get their service straightened out, the more customers they're going to lose.

Antelopeans have waited a long time for a good bar...this ain't it! I'm not sure which is worse 1) Service, 2) Prices, or 3) The service you get for the prices you are paying.

Came here on 11/10 and 11/17 for Thursday Night Football. Big mistake. Both times I only got ONE drink. I was there for 45 minutes before I got the attention of a waitress. Took half an hour to get my drink back. I ordered a Crown and Coke, she gave me a coke, with a splash of Crown. My second trip was nearly identical, took about half an hour to order a drink, and another 20 minutes before she brought it back. It was too weak to drink. I flagged down the waitress, and asked for a shot of Crown, so I can stiffen up my coke. She took 45 FREAKING minutes to bring me my Crown. That was enough for me. I paid asked for the bill, (I ordered a drink for my friend too) it was $23 damn dollars...for two weak ass drinks!..technically three, according to the waitress.

Left my phone number on the receipt, and a note for the manager, never got a call back.

This place had the look, but it does not have the proper management. Don't waste your time unless you want pitchers of beer...but hey, you can get Blue Moon for $4 a pitcher at Roundtable, so why bother.

I've never eaten the food here, so I can't speak to it's quality. It does smell very good though!

The first time I came was to play pool. The tables are nice, but there's not a lot of room. Some of the shots require you to hit the window with the end of your cue or hit the divider wall.

The second time I went was to watch a football game. They have several TV's and you can pretty much see them all from anywhere in the restaurant.

On the downside:
The service is a little slow, but they are always super busy when I'm here, so that is understandable.
The last time I went, they ran out of Blue Moon. From what I have read, this has happened to others as well.

On the positive side:
This is a very new establishment. The atmosphere is great! It's right down the street from my house. The TVs, darts, jukebox and pooltables make it worth some slow service. I would say this is a great place to go hang out, have a few beers, watch the game, play some pool, listen to music - not a quick dining experience.

All in all, I really enjoy it and I will be back.

The guy dancing on the corner had a sign showing burgers for $.99 cents. Went in and the place was empty. The workers just looked at me, as if they had something better to do. Finally I asked about the deal on the sign. The "waitress" said that was for ONE SLIDER! I asked how much a regular burger cost and was told about $7. I promptly turned and walked out the door. What a deceptive sign...no wonder the place was empty. Don't waste your time in this joint!!!!

As an update: the menus are paper copies, with grease stains from another customer. You cannot get stingier than this. The regular waitress always seems to get lost somewhere, and it's really difficult to get her attention. They are always out of something: different bread, no bacon, no fries, no beer, etc. I don't know how they can remain in business. Maybe it's the only place on that part of town. I still think their BLT sandwich is good, but they decided to reduce the size of the portions. They also reduced the fries (when they have them).

Went there for a UFC fight. I had high hopes for this place as it is the only bar in the area.

The food was good. The TV layout was great for viewing the event from any seat. That is about where the positives end.

The bar was out of Jack Daniels. Now, this was not the drink I was looking to order but how can a sports bar allow themselves to run out of Jack? The table we sat at was not wiped down. My friends ordered buffalo wings and when they asked the waitress for napkins (our table had none) she disappeared and we had to take them from another table as the waitress never remedied the situation or even checked in to see if we had someone else take care of it in her absence.

The big security guy was outside talking to a buddy about how bored he was and wanted to go get drunk. All I could think when he said this was, "there is a lot of work needing to be done". Wait staff would constantly group up to talk. It was clear that while there may be stations that each wait staff is responsible for, that is all just in theory. In practice there is no method to the madness of table coverage.

The management/ownership of Bluto's should take a hard look at how their employees work and figure out who is responsible for what. Security should not be taking food out for waitresses. Managers should not be working the door during a cover charge. If you don't have bus boys, the wait staff should be keeping an eye on bussing table and making sure table stock is up to par.

Sad to say, waste of the only bar in Antelope.

Just here for a couple of drinks and to check out their Wednesday night karaoke, since different areas have different singers and song choices. Man, Antelope has some phenomenal women singers. If nothing else, you should check out their karaoke.

Anyway, after reviewing previous reviews about how terrible the service was, I decided to have my drink at the bar, figuring to raise the odds of quickly getting served. Turned out to be unnecessary, since Bluto's must've been reading Yelp reviews; there were two bartenders and two waitresses, all of whom seemed to be getting everyone served in a fairly timely manner.

Talking to a couple of locals, I was startled to learn this is Antelope's ONLY bar! I know!!

My complaint - $5.75 for a well drink. Taking advantage of being the only bar? Shame on you, Bluto's.

To give it a fair chance I have been here 3 times and came to a few conclusions 1. do not order a mixed drink 2. the service is pretty stinkin slow and 3. the food is just not that great.

The first visit I had the mac and cheese, it was alright no real complaints. The second time, wings, very good and third time a margarita pizza that was terrible the tomato tasted rotten so I picked them off. On my third visit I stuck with water because the two previous trips I ordered a margarita on the rocks and pretty sure I got all mix. All three times the company I was with tried to order beers and they were out of their first and even their second choice. How is it you are out of beer? send someone to bel air and buy some more! Keep your customers happy!

If this was anywhere else in town I would never go again but since it is so close to home and there is no bars in the area I will continue to go, sad but true.

Over priced, crappy service. Tried to order their 99 cent sliders and conveniently they were out of them. Funny I thought. Garlic fries sucked. Won't be back anytime soon.

I like the food and the atmosphere a lot. I've tried the whimpy burgers, freak fries, cheezee fries, oyster shooters, fish and chips and several flavors of wings. All excellent and the prices are great.

My main complaint is the slow service. Our first beer was only a little slow, but when we were ready to order food, it seemed like we were sitting there for an hour and couldn't even spot our waitress around the place to flag her down.

Less important, the pool table we played at was too close to the wall, which only hinders some shots, no waitress came by the pool table room to see if we wanted drinks, there were no napkins on the tables, and when the jukebox ran out of tunes a waitress started up some techno music....this is a sports bar, not a raving night club. LOL

I will be coming here much more often for good bar food and beers, especially come football season. = )

I got pretty excited finding out I was going to have a bar about a 2 minute walk away from my house. I've been here a couple times. The food was pretty good for being a bar menu, and the server was as friendly as they come. Too bad I could have walked home, made myself a drink, then walked back before the bartenders would even acknowledge me instead of talking to each other or some of their friends. One of the times I went they were out of 4 different beers, one of which was their house beer, and Bud Light.
Met the owner one night during the weekend. Definitely condescending and seemed to care less about what anyone had to say.
I think there's a good thing going here, just put a fire under the bartenders' bums, especially on an evening during the weekend.

UPDATE:

They get a 5 for the food, and a 2 for everything else... so all in all, Bluto's gets a 3.

My first time there was extremely bad. I went there with my brother and his friend, and between the three of us we ordered fries, cheese bread, and I had a wimpy burger. The food wasn't bad (except the cheese bread was a little hard on the outside, the but inside was amazing). The beer was... well, it's beer. It's not like they made it from scratch, so can't really rate it, except to say that they had plenty of it that night.

But the service... wow. Horrible. My first time there, we waited FOREVER for anybody to even acknowledge our presence. Then, our orders were taken, but in a rude manner. Granted, they were newly open, but that doesn't excuse common courtesy and professionalism. Every time our waiter came to our table, he seemed like he just couldn't be bothered, and then he would leave and take FOREVER to get back. When we were ready to leave, we waited 15 minutes before getting up ourselves and talking to the girl at the front desk. She then took forever to find our waiter, and the two of them along with another employee pretty much gave us weird looks and joked about how we couldn't wait, and that they usually brings checks to the table. What the hell?

BUT... like I said, my friend works as a cook here, so when she invited me out to Bluto's for a second chance, I went. The second time was somewhat better... but I'm starting to think it's only because I was with one of their employees. Also, we sat at the bar (whereas in my first experience, we were sitting at a table). That night (Cinco De Mayo) we ordered margaritas and their macaroni and cheese. The mac n cheese was really amazing--easily the best I've ever had. The margaritas were good too. A little on the strong side, but not bad. We got our orders quickly and paid as we ordered, so no waiting around for a check at the end of the night.

So, overall, I'd say the food is worth coming here. The atmosphere is okay... lively for Antelope, that's for sure. The music can get way too loud, though. Also, I really think they need subtitles/closed-captioning for their TVs. I also noticed that one of the pool tables is poorly placed, because at the head of the pool table, you can't extend your pole all the way, or it hits the wall... but I guess you could just use the other pool table.

I think if they improved their service to match the awesomeness of their dishes, they'd get a definite rating of 5/5. Well, from me, at least.
