The Blythewood Grille is a fairly new restaurant, so I will go a -little- easy, however, the guy who owns this one is not new to the restaurant business. The food tastes delicious, but the service is something to be desired.

The past few times I have visited, the restaurant has not been busy, so it's okay they only have one waitress working. Though that poor waitress has to be the bearer of bad news because of the problems occurring in the kitchen.

The last time I visited, one appetizer arrived after the food. The waitress said they were having problems heating the chili, and were trying to find another way to heat it up. (Do they not have a microwave?) As one of the members of my group said, "It's hot enough outside, go sit the pot on the asphalt, it will heat up!"

Oh, and let me tell you how long it took for the food to arrive. Forty-five minutes. Yes, 45. In that time period, the waitress was good at keeping us hydrated. A few people started to say we may as well leave because we have filled up on drinks. One couple actually did leave before getting their food. They arrived after us, and when we had finished eating, they left.

We are asked when ordering, how we like our chips, and a couple people in our group of six said floppy. All chips came out crispy.

It wasn't just that one time that service was slow. A person I know visited at lunch time with a few coworkers. It took 50 minutes to get their food that day, and they had to devour it quickly to make it back to work on time. One person actually had to change his order to go because he needed to be back sooner. It still took him 10 minutes of standing at the door waiting to pay. The waitress, and owner, apologized and said it was because of a big order that came in. That big order should not be more important than your current customers.

Just as an additive, the sweet tea is not that great, and the water tastes like it came straight from a hose.

I understand starting a restaurant may be difficult, but you can not improve without a bit of constructive criticism. So, here you go Blythewood Grille. I hope to see improvements when I return, if I do.

As of now, I just returned home (which is right down the road) and my stomach feels like I have a medium-sized dog laying on me. Maybe it's because I chowed down too fast, or the grease-soaked food, but either way, I'm going to go ahead and publish this review, and stay close to a bathroom.
