This is a truly great bar. Â The patrons and staff make you feel welcome every time you come in. Â They have specials and deals all the time. Â The food is second to none in this town. Â The French fries and anything else you order will be perfectly cooked. Â They clearly make all of the sauces and dressings in house and they are all excellent. The prices are reasonable. Â This is cheers, if cheers had better food. Â I really cannot say enough good things.
Review Source:During a recent stay in Romney, West Virginia, I made a point to stop by the Brass Rail, and for my money it's the sort of place that would be my home-away-from-home if I lived in the area. Very easy to find close the town's main intersection, just look for the neon bar signs in the windows. This is a good-looking place with some impressive old woodwork and mirrors on the wall behind the bar, and a dark faux pressed-tin ceiling above. The bar itself is obviously pretty old wood, scratched and re-polished over the years. Smoking IS permitted. For entertainment you have a row of video gaming machines, a good digital jukebox, two pool tables and even a bumper-pool table that is played a lot. Standard bar food: Wings, fries, etc. During Happy Hour I got a BIG glass pitcher of Yuengling for only $6.00! And best of all this is a friendly, no-attitude sort of neighborhood bar: Talk to the locals, and they'll talk back to you and make you feel welcome. Buy a round of drinks, and they'll do the same for you. I was VERY impressed with the Brass Rail, especially given the fact that Romney is a rather tiny town.
