I loved the service and atmosphere here. The only downfall is only one type of Gluten Free beer. Despite that, the staff was extremely accommodating with my gluten and dairy allergies and made us feel like home. Thanks, guys!

I have had noticing but great experiences here. I've eaten here with my wife close to a dozen times, and have been treated to great service and very good pub food every time.

    The strengths:
The Mac and cheese. It's very good - better than you've likely had before. Add bacon or jalapeño, if you want some flair, but it doesn't need it.
The wings. Above average pub wings. If you get the OMG level, you won't be able to eat them,
    The onion rings. Thick.
The music. Live and local on Fridays and Saturdays. Blues, southern rock, jazz.

    What I would change:
The bathrooms are small. In the men's room, it's awkward. I dunno about the ladies.
    It's sometimes too loud.
    More gluten free menu items.

Overall, I really like this place and come here regularly. YMMV, especially in light if some of these other reviewers. My experience is VERY positive.

This is the about the sixth time we've gone into the Break to eat, drink, play pool or any combination of the above.  We were so excited when this place first opened because it is the ONLY bar nearby and within walking distance of Daybreak.  However, only once has the service been even at par.  I wish I could say the other times weren't that bad but they were terrible.  Some of the worst experiences we have ever had while dining out.
This time in particular we came in, were greeted by the bartender and told to find a seat anywhere.  We sat down and waited for ten minutes.  No one came to the table, no one took drink orders, we didn't even get menus.  Considering the many times in the past where this has been the start to a terrible, long process that has ALWAYS involved food being prepared incorrectly, food taking 45-90 minutes to arrive, no refills on beers, horrific service and worse attitude from the staff...we left.  That will be the last time we visit the break until we see a big ass "Everyone Was Fired and We Started Over" sign out front.  We'll drive the extra 10 minutes to Bout Time or some other place that actually gives a crap.  Did I mention that it seems that every time we went in there were a group of the bartenders friends that they would be over serving?  We're done with this place and I assume many others are as well.  It's too bad because it has a LOT of potential.

Food is ok, but the owner would rather higher his friends or family instead of real workers.  I have witnessed the most unprofessional drama take place because of those choices. I will not go back or support.

Not a bad place to hang out and meet some fun people sometimes!  But food has gone down hill very fast since it first opened, no surprise since they have hired and fired at least 4 cooks that I know of in the short time they have been opened!  They also constantly hire and fire a lot of worthless and good waitresses and bar staff!  Owner is always promoting ways to draw new customers in the break, but doesn't follow through with his promotion promises! Also have to deal with a lot of employee smoke breaks, and long chats with friends!  So service can be hard to come by at times!  But I still give two stars cause after all it is a good place to hang out and meet some odd Utah folk!

My wife and I go here nearly once a week. Great place in my neighborhood to get a couple drinks and walk home. Service is good and food is great as well. Decent prices on beers.  Only complaint is as of late Sept they no longer could get Blue Moon on tap.

Sorry, I do not agree with most of the reviews. Unfortunately my experience here was horrible. Almost 2 hours to get a burger and some fries is not worth it - anywhere.

    Long story short:

We were seated promptly and drink orders taken quickly, but from there it went down hill. After seeing our waitress again after almost 45 minutes she asked if she could get a drink order for 2 others that had shown up. We asked if we could just order our food. She replied "no, we needed to get drinks first". So they told her what they'd like and she walked off. She came back 10 minutes later and took their food order. The three others in our party were left to wait. Another 20 minutes later she came back to see if we needed refills. Two others in our party got refills and the rest of us were finally able to order. After about an hour two meals arrived, and when they had finished the remaining meals arrived. Everyones drinks were refilled again - EXCEPT for mine. In two hours I only had my initial drink order. I was never even asked if I'd like more or anything different.

I guess the topper of the evening was that when it came time to pay or hostess disappeared and no one else would take our money! Worst dining experience to date...

Awesome Mac and cheese (but a little pricey for the portion) and very friendly service.  Beer is reasonably priced.

Can I tell you how happy I am that there's a sports bar in Daybreak?! YAY! The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. I love that they're open Sundays, and love that they have live music. My only gripe is that every now and then when I go there, it takes foreeeever for the food to come to my table. But other times it's very speedy. Hit and miss on speediness, I guess.

Just ordered out from The Break and we can shovel the food in fast enough! Inventive takes on classic burgers for great prices! For a big burger and a good size side it's only $8.50.
We had the pastrami burger which is loaded with flavor. I especially liked my side of coleslaw on my burger for an extra flavor punch. The pastrami burger is made with a house made basil sauce and topped with a delicious and fluffy bun. My mom had the house salad which is heads above an average house salad. It has mixed greens with finely sliced cabbage loaded with red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, and sunflower seeds topped with their house made dressings (the balsamic was FANTASTIC!)
Last but not least my husband says he had the best meal with the southwest burger which was topped with pepper jack cheese and a delicious (but not too spicy) salsa and a side of their out of this world Mac and cheese. I don't know what kind of cheese they use but it is heavenly.
I highly recommend this place even if you don't indulge in alcohol because their food is a must try.

Can't believe you have to give at least one star, what a waste!!!!

A great spot close to home to grab a bite and catch a game. The bar food is great, but if you're looking for something on the healthy side, I recommend the smoked Salmon salad, it's excellent.

Ok I too was very happy to hear the a Sports bar was opening in Daybreak.  Somewhere close too enjoy the people and food.  Too many problems though, feels more like a high school hang out for the owner, employees and their friends instead of a place that wants to bring in a broad base of patrons.  Bar staff is although friendly they too seem to be there for a good time than to give patrons good service.  Been there over 5 times now and always disappointed whether it be severe water spots on glasses, not receiving napkins or condiments after 5 minutes of receiving food or beer.  Waiting for an additional drink even when slow in restaurant.  Watching staff text non stop at times and then relocating behind bar as soon as done with their shift.  Going outside to smoke with owner for a break while serving.  I wish I had better news to report but even though I like a fun atmosphere I believe some professionalism from the staff and owners are expected.  The general feel is that they don't care if you don't like it.  Owner is there often but just hangs out with friends as opposed to getting to know his customers and see if they are happy with the food or service.   I can report that the pork sliders are delicious but not anything else I had tried to this point did I think was great.  Although close and just what we need in South Jordan, it will be a while before we try it again.   I certainily would love to give them another chance!

As a resident of Daybreak I am pleased we have a local sports bar.  Yes sports "bar".  How awesome is that?  I agree, it was sad to see Wabi Sabi close down.  I was a supporter.

But The Break is looking good.  Beer selection great.  Menu choices good too.  Management seems professional and friendly.  Business appears to be going well for The Break compared to it's predecessor.

Word to the management:  Pls don't let The Break become a daisy dukes, silicone, tip hustling center.

Daybreak has needed this place for years, and now it's finally home.  It was great to walk in on a Saturday afternoon, the day after opening, and find the place packed!

The cheese fries were perfect. The beer was cold.  The service was great.  Best of luck to Bam and the gang, so glad to have you in the neighborhood!

So, so happy to welcome The Break Sports Bar & Grill to Daybreak's SoDa Row!

We were big fans of Wabi Sabi & were sad to see them go - but I think that The Break is going to be a great replacement.  I want to see SoDa Row succeed & with great restaurants like The Break coming in, they just might.

It's definitely got a "bar" feeling, but don't discount them for food, too.  We both had amazing burgers & looking at the other food around the tables near us, I'm going to want to go back a bunch just to try everything!  It all looked great.

They've got a bunch of flat screens & a huge HD projector.  Lots of tables & seating at the bar and a cool upstairs area with a few pool tables & places to lounge.  I can't wait to go back again with friends to hang out and have another beer while supporting a neighborhood establishment!
