I don't give many 5 stars and normally would give a place like this 4 stars but as far as I can tell this is pretty much the only place in a 25 mile radius to get a good beer.  What's better is the food was great, surprisingly great, but great none the less.  If you are in the area, not sure why you would be, but if you are, this is the only place you need to know about.  Great selection, friendly staff and good prices, definitely a winner.

Best food within 25 miles! Great friendly service. Awesome variety of beers. What more could you ask for? This place has become our Saturday night hangout! Highly recommend but don't expect a fast food joint. This is a "take your time" and enjoy life kind of place!

My lady has been on me to try this place for about 6 months. Since we live in Johnstown, its a 45 min. (approx.) trip. I've tried several times, buy they have weird hrs. so pretty much gave up trying. My cousin lives in Ebensburg, and upon his advice, made a trip up to Colver for the sole purpose of going to Breaker Boys. It was definately worth it! The prices are a little high for the area, and they offer mostly the same fare as most bars; but the food is not average fare. It's much better. Plus, the atmosphere is why you come here. It's a higher class environment!

You can't beat this place for the area. It's a nice place with a cozy feel. They have a very large selection of bottled beer and delicious food. The menu isn't extensive but each dish seems to have a special touch like homemade deep fried croutons for salads. The staff/owners are very friendly and seem to remember everyone. You really can't go wrong here.

I also understand that they will have outdoor seating in the future and plan on greatly expanding the draft selection.

Went to Breaker Boys tonight for first time. What a great surprise. We visit the area from time-to-time from Northern NJ and always disappointed in lack of good eating establishments. Breaker Boys is now near the top of the list. Great environment; delicious, out-of-the ordinary food; terrific service; and outstanding beer selection. We shared the excellent empanada appetizer, then each of the three of us ordered one of the specialty sandwiches. After tasting all three, couldn't decide which was the best as they were all really delicious. Plan to return to Breaker Boys during our next visit to the area.

This family-run restaurant is an awesome addition to the West-Central PA landscape:  Love the slag pile burger with corned beef and caramelized onions- and the crab cake and cranberry salad with gorgonzola/pear dressing!  Excellent hot wings!  With close to 100 different beers on hand and knowledgeable, friendly staff (Tammy makes excellent beer recommendations!), Breaker Boys is one of the area's most exciting restaurants.  This place has a great atmosphere, with lots of local historical touches, and very reasonable prices.  The only downfall is limited days/hours of operation.  Will be back again soon to try more items from the Breaker Boys menu!

    Breaker Boys
A BREAKER BOY was a coal-mining worker in the US and the UK whose job was to separate impurities from coal by hand in a coal breaker. Although breaker boys were primarily children, elderly coal miners who could no longer work in the mines because of age, disease, or accident were also sometimes employed as Breaker Boys. The use of breaker boys began in the mid-1800's. Public disapproval of the employment of children as breaker boys existed by the mid-1800's, the practice did not end until the 1920's

A friend took me here one Sunday afternoon for the wing special they have. After driving through the middle of nowhere and then reaching the destination in the middle of no, Breaker Boys took me by surprise. You wouldn't expect a nice restaurant/bar like that in the area. The staff is very friendly and informative and welcome you as if you are a house guest. The establishment is very clean and and seats about 80 or so (i could be stretching that number a bit though). The restaurant is equipped with tables, booths and a small bar with a TV in view with a small turn of the head. If there is something that you want to watch and its not on the TV they will happily change it to what you want. I also noticed that many people came in and ordered Pizza from BB (guess they got some good pizza) and what stood out to me was the fact that the employees knew everyone by first name. It was just a very welcoming atmosphere.

As far as the food goes, i cant really judge too much.  I came here twice and ordered the same thing... twice. My wings the first time were on point. A plus is that they can spread your wing flavors in threes if you wanted to which is pretty generous. Not many spots do that, its half a dozen, all or nothing! The second time i ordered the wings they were a bit off for my taste buds. The sauce just might have been off that day or something but i just wasn't feeling it. I do recommend however their Spicy Corn Nuggets. I can't explain it but trust me, it will not be disappointing.

They also have a pretty sweet beer special, $2.75 "Big Boy" glass. They have a small handful of beers on draft and a TON in bottles. The owner had mentioned that they will expand their draft  menu significantly.

Overall experience, a positive and a half negative. 1st time, everything was good, the second time, that one sauce just had me off but i would recommend this spot to anyone. Help support a new establishment and enjoy your company in a smoke free environment.

    Hope you guys enjoy it.
