Decided to give this place a shot as we had read about it on Yelp previously. More interested in trying the beer than anything else but all 6 of us ordered lunch and everytone seemed to enjoy! The fish tacos were delicious; I heard the Tahoe Bule Burger was also great, as was the Club sandwich. Good prompt service and the beers were pretty tasty as well. I would have loved a sampler but we had 2 antsy kiddoes with us, so next time we are through here I will try the beer sampler!
Review Source:Just a solid meal in SLT.
We were hungry around 9 and were craving burgers. Â I got a black bean vegetarian burger with onion rings, my lovely lady a classic cheeseburger. Â We were both really pleased. Â While the exterior might make you think that it's a noisy sports bar, it isn't. Â There is a sprawling cafe style restaurant indoors with good service and solid eats. Â
AND for Tahoe, it's incredibly reasonable.  We ate for 25 including the above food and two iced teas.  You can't beat that!  Parking is  a bit small but you should probably be walking home ifyaknowwhatImean.
Very impressed with the beer. Wasn't expecting much...but I was so impressed I came back for a second taste later that day. Washoe wheat was awesome.
I tried their happy hour nachos for lunch...Not the best i've had but very good. The cheese sauce was very good and very different. Had that home made feel.
Went with their bad ass pizza for dinner. Not too shabby.
This place was fine for a microbrewery, overall though the service sucked. It took 15 minutes or more to get our beers initially and the i sat for at least 15 minutes waiting to order another. We had to ask at least twice (same waitress) for everything including water, condiments, extra plates, etc. she was baffled by a question about what the "combo" was on the pizza menu. It all concluded with a failed attempt to divide a check. I'll definitely go back, don't get me wrong; i just expected more based on the other reviews.
Review Source:The Brewery at Lake Tahoe is the perfect 3 star Brewery if there ever was one!
The Beer is A-OK...
The Food is A-OK...
The service is friendly when they're slow, a little more behind than needed when they get busy.
If it wasn't in Tahoe I would find my way in here...and there are a few better options for beer nearby...but then again you need to drive pretty far for a better micro-brew.
Bad Ass Ale is one of their better beer options...and I'd probably recommend a burger or pizza...either way they should satisfy your hunger amply, but not leave a permanent imprint in your memory.
Both my husband and I got sandwiches. His Bad Ass burger was overcooked and my sandwich was missing the aioli and other toppings that were listed on the menu. Our server didn't come check on us in between putting down our food and bringing the check, otherwise I would have asked for a side of aioli because it was dry. It didn't even seem that busy...
Review Source:Food and beer was fantastic. They have beer samplers and very good happy hours special. Pizza chips are so great. Try the pesto ones. I ordered a mountain salad with grilled chicken it was the best salad I had in the area. Â I ate it all up. Make the drive out of the center to go a bite to eat here or stop on the way back from hike or ride.
Review Source:Just randomly dropped in here for lunch.
AMAZING!!
Very relaxed setting, very casual and comfortable.
Beer is great! Food was delicious! Loved my mountain salad with grilled chicken and the boyfriend didn't even say one word while eating his keep Tahoe blue burger, he was in heaven!
The staff is really friendly, genuine friendly not working for tips friendly. Overall highly recommend!
My husband and I ate here on our honeymoon. It was OK. The beer was good and cold but our food was just so so. We sat at a window facing outside and watched some other guests eating outside. They had all ordered pizza and the pizza looked really good. We ordered burgers and they were average but after seeing the pizza I think we should have ordered that. We live pretty close to Tahoe so I am sure we will come here again. Next time I will be ordering the pizza.
Review Source:Disappointment! Â The beer is really good but the food and service is terrible. Â We waited a long time for our food and the server was not really interested in being a server. Â No manager or owner to be seen. Â The place wasn't busy but two servers were doing the work, grudgingly. Â Three female servers were wiping down the menus and talking on a picnic table out by the road when customers were not being served. Â The food came out cold even though we waited a long time. Â The inside dining was completely empty. Â Everyone there had a very poor attitude. Â The food quality was poor. Â We won't be back.
Review Source:Good beer and decent food. Nice outside sitting on a sunny day, although a bit noisy as it's right by highway.
The brews... Here they come:
IPA - beautiful golden color, hoppy. The way an IPA should be, plain bitter and thus pleasing.
Porter - surprisingly light bodied but in no way watery. Mild taste of chocolate. Easy to drink even on a hot day. Had it with a burger and it paired extremely well, without overwhelming the taste of food.
Pilsner - Good brew. It starts in your mouth as a usual suspect, that is followed by a nice sweetness that I think comes from a higher ABV of this one.
My gf had an amber, which come a bit less malty than she expected, though tasted well.
Went back for some food this time...and some more beer of course.
I had the Southwest Jalapeño BBQ Chicken Burger  but with the veggie burger patty.
A bit messy but VERY tasty...yes, even WITH the veggie burger patty (don't be a veggie burger hater. :) )
Boyfriend had the Brewhouse Burger medium rare and said that they cooked it perfectly. (We'd had some issues with that at some other places.)
As far as price goes, this place seems about the same as other places of similar restaurant style. And at least this food was better than the way overpriced food we had at the pier restaurants. So you can always get cheap food at McDs or Jack in the Box, but why??
I went for the seasonal wheat beer this time. Tasty and perfect for the warm day. Mmmm...we  were ready for more beer but had to be on our way...so alas...we'll need to stop there next time we're up in Tahoe.
The food is good and plentiful, but expensive and overpriced. However, I've never had worse service in my life. We were quickly seated, but it took 15 minutes just to get our beer. It took another HOUR to get our food.
This isn't entirely the fault of the restaurant, but we had to deal with rude customers near us. They brought THREE barking dogs into the restaurant, loudly discussed their cycling trip, and rudely rebuffed anyone who their dogs barked at. The dogs came to me and tried to even eat my food. The restaurant should take a stand on dogs in the restaurant instead of cowering to their every demand.
After that, we were forced to wait even longer to pay our bill and finally get the hell out. Some advice to the owners: hire more competent workers, and don't allow dogs into a restaurant.
Stopped in here on our way through town, sooo glad we did!!
Tables were available outside but it was a bit chilly out so we were seated immediately inside.
I had a Bad Ass Ale, she had a Wit. Both beers were very good.
For food we both ordered our own 10" pizzas with an appetizer of battered fries. All of the food was amazing.
Service was very fast and friendly.
This has to be my favorite spot in Tahoe to eat and drink! Definitely be going back here again this summer.
We went here over Spring Break and grabbed a quick lunch. We ordered the Chips and salsa while we waited for the rest of our party. I was under the assumption that it was the Happy Hour price of $4.00. It was not Happy Hour yet, but it did come with  Gauc. and Salsa at regular price. I also had ordered an Amber beer while we waited. It was pretty slow in the early afternoon, but it picked up after we sat down. I had ordered the BBQ Calzone with Pepperoni, Bell Peppers, and Mushrooms. The lil one had ordered the Mac and Cheese pasta. The portions were huge and the server was very friendly. We will be back for the Bada@@ burger and the Wheat beer which is my favorite beer. They do sell Growlers if your on the go.

Brewery @ Lake Tahoe is a good option, a bit far from the tram, but worth the drive.
My girlfriend and I tried a few samplers, in an effort to try all their beer. While they are all lower in alcohol content, they are all brewed true to style. I would rate each beer "good" - nothing really stood out.
The best beer I tried was the IPA. Good amount of hops, but still, not good enough to make me consider coming back.
This is a better option then the "other guy" in the area.
Great beer, good food. There is a sit down area inside and outside, as well as a bar with var seating, no tables. Went at an off hour during lunch, so the place was pretty quite, and the service was quick and friendly. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as well as the steak sandwich. The dip came with amazingly seasoned bread that was warm and deliscious on its own. The dip was a little soupy, but very generous with the amount of spinach and artichokes. I prefer the thicker cream though. Otherwise the dip was great. Oh...if you run out of bread, they will bring you more bread or chips, AWESOME!
The steak sandwich was tasty, however slightly over cooked. Fries were also very tasty.
The beer is great too. There signature beer is the Bad Ass Ale, which is a must try. My boyfriend walked away with a growler of it. I forgot which one I tried, but it was a wheat and it was perfect. :) So...try the beer, you are at a brewery after all.
Like a lot of places in South Lake Tahoe, this place feels very relaxed and home-away-from-home! I came here for the first part of St. Patty's Day last weekend. I knew I had to check it out because Tahoe's bar/pub life had me super curious, and I was told this is where I could get a "Drink Tahoe Brew" bumper sticker! Woot!
Again, like many local SLT spots, it looks like a cabin from the outside. By walking around the "cabin" I saw that this was a restaurant as well. We headed into the small bar filled with people in green shirts chowing down on pizza, large hot dogs, etc. and drinking cerveza. My friend and I ordered the Porter and the Brown, respectively. My Porter tasted just like Guinness, but with more deep chocolate flavor. I appreciated that the Porter only had slightly over 4% alcohol content, according to the bartender (who was a cool dude. BTW!). I am a true lightweight.
I wasn't particularly hungry but thought I would have a snack anyway. I ordered the sundried tomato hunnie with pita bread. The bread came out very warm, and the hummus was huge in portion size! It was served like a big ice cream scoop. I enjoyed it very much.
Small, chill brewery where everyone knows each other, which for me was nice to see, considering I live in a much larger city. This is a a place you'll have to check out while I'm town. Almost makes you feel like you live there!
Nothing worse than talking a place up to friends and then having everyone's appetite smashed with bad food, slow service, teeny tiny portions and VERY EXPENSIVE pizza.
I came here 2 years ago. Â Not sure what happened between now and then. Â 2 Years ago I thought the pizza was OKAY. Â What really made me talk this place up was the salsa. Â It was so good and it was complimentary with the beer while we waited for our food. Â The salsa was definitely made fresh and when we left I don't remember the check being outrageous.
This time I ordered takeout. Â Two large pizzas, one gourmet and one that was just pepperoni. Â Next I asked for one order of salsa and one order of guac. Â Please see the picture for what they charged me 12 dollars for. Â 6 for the salsa and 6 for the guac. Â It was salsa that looked like Pico from safeway and the guac was well, SERVED IN A TINY BLACK KETCHUP CONTAINER. Â 6 bucks for that!?!?! I don't mind paying a bit extra, we are in Tahoe its expected but look at the picture. Â How pissed would you be getting charged 6 bucks for ONE CHIP worth of salsa. Â What a joke. Â
My final rant is that both pizzas were the exact same price. Â How are you going to charge me the exact same for a gourmet multi topping pizza vs a one topping pepperoni.
In the end all of the members of my group agreed that Pizza Hut or Dominos would have been better and much less expensive.
Just finished a dinner here at the Brewery. Â Overall, not impressed. The only positives I have:
1. Great beer
2. Good atmosphere
The negatives...
We ordered the Pub Combo (potato skins, chicken strips, fried ravioli, and onion rings) it all sounds great right? Well it wasn't. Everything tasted, and had the consistency of food that was fried last night, then microwaved for us. One of the potato skins was starting to rot. It reminded me of the terrible food you find on Ramseys kitchen nightmares. We hoped the pizza would make up for the appetizer... But that too was extremely sub par. I've had better frozen pizza on many occasions.
We ended up spending over $40 for two, couldn't eat the food, so we went across the street to pizza hut for cheese sticks so we didn't finish the night hungry.
All in all I recommend this place for a quick beer or two. I'd stay away from the food though...
Edit: this review is from 2 years ago. I had it saved but never posted it.
Ok we eat out frequently & when we travel to a tourist destination we expect the best of the best of service. The service was horrible... Mandy was so rude & unprofessional. The wait was way too long and Mandy never checked on us in the hour we waited for pizza, fish tacos, & a chicken wrap.
The food on the other hand was delicious! The pizza is 1 of the best tasting pizzas I have ever had.
A combo of great food & bad service can hurt an establishment... 1 must remember when reading this review that this is just my opinion, but any business should be concerned about 1 complaint and address it. I hope if we return Mandy is no longer there.
Ravenous after a day of skiing, we stopped over at this cozy little spot and learned that it was their 20th anniversary so all pizzas were half off - score! Ended up ordering a medium thai chicken pizza, a medium greek pizza, 4 beers, and a chicken pot pie (for two people lol) from the amazingly attentive bartender, then cracked joked with some friendly locals while we waited for our food.
Our meal was hearty and delicious, environment is welcoming and fun, and the beers that they brewed on site rocked my socks. We ended up taking some food home and had enough to enjoy for a couple days afterward. Definitely a must try.
What better reward for hours of snowshoeing that some appetizers and beer? So, we stopped here took a seat at the bar. We decided on splitting a flight of eleven beers so that we could try all their offerings, spinach artichoke dip, and jalapeno cheddar "pizza chips".
The beers were delicious. My favorites were in order: Dunkel, Wit, Bad Ass Ale, and then the Stout. The Dunkle was so delicious that we ended up buying a growler to take home, which including the actual growler itself was around 20 bucks. (They refill any growler, so I suggest bringing one with you if you're visiting just in case!)
The spinach artichoke dip was delicious, so thick and cheesy with some really fantastic buttery crostinis. The pizza chips were essentially a thin crust pizza without sauce cut into tiny pieces. It was HUGE. It would be enough for two to split as a lunch.
The bartenders weren't very friendly, but that usually doesn't bother me.
Overall, left very full and happy.
I thought it was a decent place for our late lunch although the service could have been better. She seemed a bit rushed and the place wasn't even busy.
We all ordered different hamburgers (no beers, it was a family outing). French dip was a little on the dry side. I tried the veggie burger and it was not good. Prior to taking our orders she did not ask how we wanted our burgers cooked so they were all about medium rare. I ordered the Brewhouse Burger which was pretty good, but I like my burgers a little more well done. The sweet potato fries were thin and not worth the extra $2 in my opinion.
Something I did like: You can switch out your burger bread for gluten-free for $1.75*
I'm open to giving it a try again in the future, but as for this time it really did not impress me.
The creative writer who named their  'Michelangelo' 5 topping pizza best in town doesn't know from David. It was small, lumpy and just warm when it came out.  I think it sat for awhile in the kitchen.  I asked for Mozzarella only, which  at best covered 40% of the pizza aka flat bread  Two toppings were flat out nonexistent.  What caused the pizza to have an orange color was nothing I ordered.  My friends dinner, chicken parmigiana pasta didn't look appetizing,, it was smothered  in white sauce.
The beer was ok , there are to many other pubs and brew/pizza places to waste a meal here.
I will say the desserts looked good, especially the apple calzone. The table next to us ordered  it.  We were not looking for a reason to stay.any longer after what was served to us for dinner.
I arrived to this restaurant with a group of people for a birthday dinner. When we arrived the decor aimed for a quaint, lodge style restaurant typical of tourist areas with snow. We were seated at a table with a TV attached to the adjacent wall; this added an unnecessary noise to our dinner experience. The waitress seemed really nice, and she brought us a pitcher of cold water for us to fill at our convenience which I really appreciated (I drink lots of water).
They have a nice selection of their own brewed beer and we decided to go with one of their seasonal beers. Its taste motivated us to order two pitchers.
The food was sub par. I ordered their bratwurst with fries: the bread was very hard to chew and the sauerkraut was lukewarm. My girlfriend ordered one of their pastas and it too was lukewarm and it was bland. My friend ordered a chicken pot pie and she loved it.
Overall, the food was ok, the beer was great and the service was excellent. Does my experience motivate me to return to the Brewery? I think I'll try something else first next time, but wouldn't count out a return.
Poor service. Â Wouldn't tell me what the wait was for a table inside. Â Settled for a seat outside then waited 10 minutes for someone to be bothered to take our drink order. Â Meanwhile a couple came up asked for a table inside and was promptly seated. Â Messed up our simple order. Â No drink refills through our meal. Â
All in all rude to downright disrespectful staff. Â Avoid.
Crappy food. Crappy beer. Â
I have no idea what those people are thinking who claim this place has good beer. Â It does not. Â I have been to probably hundreds of brewery/brewery restaurants, from Seattle to San Diego, and San Francisco, to the Midwest. Â This place DOES NOT HAVE GOOD BEER. Â I tried the sampler of everything they brew, and not one stood out as a worthy glass of grog. Â
If you are just going to get a buzz, there are cheaper ways of doing that.
The service, as others have noted, is lackluster. Â We went at 11:45 on a Thursday. The construction on highway 50 may have kept the crowds down, or the crappy beer and food, not sure. Either way, there were not many people at this place at lunch time.
Not encouraging.
We were seated promptly, but it was several minutes before someone came to ask what we wanted to drink.  After ordering, several more minutes before we got our drinks, and had  a  chance to order food.  And by several minutes, I mean 10-15 minutes between sitting, then being asked for our drink order, then 10-15 minutes more before getting our drinks, all in an nearly empty restaurant.
Food was less than memorable, and I am not going to go into a long diatribe about it, other than to say I don't think it merits even one star. Â And it took about 30 minutes to get it, after the 30 minute plus wait to get drinks.
And, our server came to check if we need drinks or anything about, oh, every hour or so.
The service was sloooowwww. Â The kitchen was sloooowwww. Â The beer is lackluster, flat and tasteless. Â Pretty much sums up my experience.
