My sister and I had lunch here on 7/10/13. Â Outstanding. Â She had the caper chicken salad and I had the ginger chicken salad. Â The lettuce and tomatoes in the salad were top notch. Â The flat bread served with the salads was excellent as well. Â Both salad dressing were extremely flavorful. Â We kept dipping bits of the flatbread in the caper dressing -- it had garlic, fresh basil, capers and parmesan cheese in it. Â We came back later in the afternoon and shared the chocolate cake with mocha cream cheese frosting: Â a very moist, flavorful cake. Â The pecan pie was also very good. Â The choc cake was plated on swirls of chocolate sauce and the pecan pie with a caramel sauce. Â Both were topped with home made whipped cream. Â Wish we could have licked our plates. Â Everything was fresh and very tasty. Â Highly recommend.
Review Source:When in Mineral Point, don't miss this place
Delicious homemade food with fresh ingrediants, presented wonderfully. Â Party enjoyed caper chicken salad, portebella mushroom burger, and chicken pesto sandwich. Â All delicious. Â Jalepeno curds with raspberry sauce and corn souffle side were not to be missed. Â Biere de Garde was nice and light for lunch. Â Save room for dessert. Â Key lime pie and sour cream berry pie were a perfect finish to this delightful meal enjoyed in a warm, authentic and historic setting. Â The antique bar is gorgeous too. Â I'll be back.
My wife and I have stayed at the Brewery Creek Inn several times and have always eaten at the restaurant/pub during our visits. The building is a nicely renovated warehouse from the 19th Century with foot-wide limestone walls. The rooms are all different and tastefully decorated.
The restaurant itself is very nice with exposed wood beams, stone walls and an old bar lining one wall. They brew their own beers in small batches and most are quite good. The food is also good with an emphasis on locally grown produce and meats.
The steaks are very good as are the frites and salads. Service can be a little slow when they are busy but the waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating.
The town of Mineral Point is also very interesting - being settled by Cornish miners in the 19th Century. Lots of historical buildings tucked away in the driftless area of SW Wisconsin. If you like to ride your bike on some great roads with some great scenery, it doesn't get much better than this area of Wisconsin. So if you're ever in the area make a point to stay or at least eat at the Brewery Creek Inn, you won't be disappointed.
This small town does not have lot of eating and drinking options. This seemed to be a nice place so I went it. I liked the irish pub kinda ambiance. Seemed like everyone inside the bar already knew each other! I was the only person drinking at the bar. No TV, quiet bartenders - I got bored pretty quick.
Being in Wisconsin, I was expecting some really good cheese in burgers, but it tasted just like regular ordinary cheese. I enjoyed there local beers though. I tried three of them and they were reasonably good.
Although nothing exceptional about this place, I will definitely come back here if I visit mineral point again.
There aren't many places to eat later on a Wednesday night in this little town, sadly. But the lights were on here and it was warm and cozy when we stepped inside. I must say, it did feel a bit like walking in to a stranger's living room and all eyes turned to stare at the out of towners as we obviously clashed with the locals.
We stayed and took a table despite the discomfort! Service was slow. Slow! The food was fine. My dining partner and I each had the walleye sandwich and side salads, not wanting to eat heavily later in the evening. Â We also split the amazing-sounding corn appetizer. It was good, but not amazing. Tasted just like my annual corn casserole from the Betty Crocker cook book made for Thanksgiving. ;-)
I wouldn't go back. The bartender needs to find something to occupy his time when there are no patrons with whom to chat or serve because standing behind the bar and staring at the diners is creepy. Sorry, dude.
Prices seem about right for the food they serve. And the food is tasty, though I must admit, I did expect the sandwich to be more the size of those we get back here around the twin cities. It was on the small size.
The atmosphere of the old building is very cool, though, with the exception of the staring tender of the bar and the slow wait staff.
This is probably the best place to eat in town because there are so few options, although I did not go the MP across the street. The food is fine, it's certainly nothing worth writing home about. They supposedly make their own beers but I tried the Belgian Wit and found it incredibly bland.
I ordered the steak which was a nice rib-eye, but it evoked memories of Sizzler's from my childhood, especially with the dollop of butter on top that is piped out of a bag. We also had the corn souffle which was nice, but not amazing. The woman who might be the owner, but was the hostess for the night was a bit curt with me. At no point was I welcomed to the restaurant, instead she blocked the door so I couldn't go in and demanded if I had a reservation. Our service was fine.
Again, nothing to write home about but there are just so few options in this town.
My wife and I recently moved to the quaint town of Mineral Point and Brewery Creek was one of the first restaurants we tried. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better. The desserts are spectacular! Be sure to call first as I know they are only open certain days and be sure to get there early!
Review Source:My wife and I were staying at a cottage nearby and asked our hostess for some restaurant suggestions. Without hesitation, her immediate suggestion was the Brewery Creek Brewpub Restaurant and Bar. We ordered takeout, and we were so impressed we returned the next day for lunch.
The restaurant itself is in one of the famous stone buildings of Mineral Point. The atmosphere is casual; charming and welcoming. There is a bar at the front, and they serve their own label. Soda came in a can, which is my preference. The food was excellent; flavorful and well-portioned. My favorite was the Walnut Burger, a veggie burger of sorts. We absolutely loved the belgian fries.
The evening staff was very friendly, although we felt the waitress we had in the afternoon was preoccupied with prep work and seemed annoyed that customers were beginning to trickle in. Our review would have been five stars if not for this waitress. We were slightly dismayed that they did not have a highchair for our daughter. Also, their phone is set to play a prerecorded message with business hours, so you can't order takeout over the phone.
Poor service with a bad attitude.
I am a local Wisconsin resident and have visited this restaurant 3 times now.  On all 3 occasions the staff was rude and/or uncommunicative.  The first time we stopped by with out a reservation and patiently waited for a table to be available for us; while shopping in the area.  We thought it was not an issue until the service was so bad with no follow up, desert offer, or completion of the bill that it was clear we were not wanted and had put them out too such a degree that they would have preferred to just ignore us.  Food so so.  Second visit was a bit better.  Made reservation, ordered, out of item ordered and notified when appetizers arrived.  Committed to eating, so ordered another entrée and dismissed the issue as poor communication between kitchen and front staff.  Food again Ok, but not what it should be considering other options in this southern Wisconsin area.  Third visit was to meet some friends for some locally brewed beer.  Oops it's Saturday night.  You can not just have a drink at the bar.  It is for dining customers only with reservations.  As there were some spots open at the bar 45 minutes before they stopped serving, we were actually able to get some beers and ordered some food.  Our freinds paid their portion and had their return change cleared from the bar as if it was a $15 tip.  We paid our bill with a cash amount greater than the tab and for us no change was ever returned.  Bigger tip than they should have received. Â
**The food is at best OK. Â **The beer does seem to be a craft brew, but they have no space to actually brew in this location so I am pretty sure they are having someone else do it for them or just purchasing it outright from another brewery. Â **Service is terrible by nearly all standards other than their own. Â Note: They stop serving at 8:30 PM and basically shove you out around 9. Â Try reaching them by phone; what a joke.
We had a good dinner but did not stay overnight. Â The building is a very old warehouse which made for a fun and interesting space. Â The bar truly is beautiful. Â The people were warm and friendly. Â This makes for great atmosphere. Â The beer was excellent. Â I had a steak which was OK, but other entrees may be better choices.
Review Source:I recently spent a weekend here and I simply can't say enough good things about this place. Delicious beer, great food, and incredible lodging. The room was GORGEOUS- huge, beautiful, comfortable. Service was great, staff was friendly, but not overly in your face. There were no children running around. We were able to spend a quiet weekend together in a beautiful establishment.
I can't wait to go back!
A great little restaurant, microbrewery, and bed and breakfast in Mineral Point. The building was built in the 1830s as a warehouse, and has since served as an insulation factory, cold storage, and a vet's stable. The stone walls and open beam ceiling feels like it hasn't changed for 150 years. The dining area is small - good thing everyone is so laid back! The first thing you'll notice, however, is the bar - it's stunning. According to the menu, it was purchased from an antique dealer in Minneapolis. You have to see it.
The people were real nice, the food was delicious, and the beer is brewed on the premises. It doesn't get much better!
