Not SUPER excited when I saw a roach run past my feet when I was sitting in my booth having breakfast. When I politely told the owner I saw a roach, he said they have the exterminator come in pretty frequently, took my money, and told me to have a nice day. The food is good, service is descent. I always feel like they never have enough staff.
Review Source:Have been here once a year in May for 16 years and counting. Â Same waitress the entire time. Â Love that. Â
In terms of food... it's a diner, and a reasonably clean one. Â So, you know, diner food. Â What's not to like? Â It's also just down the road from Woodbury Common, which is nice :)
Bleh. Â I have been going here since I was a kid. Â Stopped in for lunch the other day (I don't live in the area, and haven't been in in a couple of years.) Â I was so disappointed. Â I ordered the fried fish sandwich (which comes with cole slaw only.) Â The waitress asked me if I wanted it on bread or a roll? Â Bread? Â Who serves a fried fish filet on bread? Â Anyway, I really just wanted the fish, but ordered it on a roll since she asked. Â It came. Â The portion of fish was huge. Â And the batter was a thin outer coating which was light and delicious. Â It stopped there. Â Underneath th fabulous batter was a not-so-fresh piece of white fish which was so veiny I was a little grossed out. Â I ate about half, sans roll, trying to ignore the gray veins all over the fish. Â The bill came. Â They charge 40 cents extra to serve it on a roll, which I didn't even eat. Â For 40 cents I didn't bother saying anything. Â I will say the fries (a la carte) were good...hot and crispy the way they should be. Â All in all, I was a bit saddened that this place wasn't what it used to be.
Review Source:after a couple of hours walking around at Woodbury Commons, we got hangry. so, our host drove us out to this diner, pretty nearby.
service here is great. you can see the manager walking around to make sure things are in order. she'll eye us if our waiter isn't eyeing us. that's nice. we got our water filled very often. waiter checking up on us once in a while.
menu has lots to choose from...but i'm not a diner type of person. so i chose a burger to make life easier. it was okay.
afterwards, we ordered desserts. i wanted their mocha cake, but they ran out. offering the 3 layers chocolate cake that is similar. Â it was good too...but, who i am kidding? anything cake is good to me.
2.8 stars, rounding up to 3 because of good service.
thanks Edward for stealing my FTR....just because i didn't know where it was. big uklat!
So I go to Woodbury Commons, they have only one or two restaurants in the compound that's decent, the rest are food courts, the problem is that it's full, wait time is more than 30 minutes during the weekend and the food is average. I decided to go up the street and found this diner. My sister and her friend liked the burgers, but my chicken Gyro was dry and the sauce wasn't that great, the fries were good and dessert average but it's probably a better choice than the food places at the outlet. I'll need to explore the area a little more, there were some wineries that I saw which had wine tasting and I think I should visit those next time.
