I usually find restaurants attached to hotels to be quite mediocre at best. Â Not in this case!! Â Brittany's Cafe was a delightful surprise to have within steps of my room. Â Having stayed two nights at the Kancamagus Lodge, I found myself compelled to eat breakfast here both mornings. Â
Brittanny's Cafe is a small, country-style restaurant located within the Kancamagus Lodge Main Building. Â Attached is an outdoor patio for dining in fair weather. Â In addition, a wall of windows allow views of the indoor pool facilities at this establishment. Â Upon entering, a hostess immediately sat us, provided us with menus, and took drink orders to begin the meal. Â The menu offers a variety of options ranging from omelets, pancakes, french toast, etc. Â Apparently known for their unique omelet ingredients, I opted to test out the relatively tame bacon, ham, and sausage omelet. Â The bf tried out one mixed with peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and more! Â Unlike many places who dice their ingredients into itty bitty pieces, these omelets are filled with largely sliced portions. Â In a few words, they were fresh, cooked to perfection, and absolutely delicious. Â
Day two, I ordered the pancakes with bacon, home fries, and toast. Â The pancakes were fluffy, light, and completely hit the spot. Â Bacon was cooked to near crispiness, home fries soft, flavorful, and plentiful. Â Lastly, the thickly sliced toast with butter was a perfect way to round out the meal. Â Bottomless cups of coffee made it a little easier to get going in the morning and search out the adventures easily found around every corner in NH.
Service was quick and efficient, waitresses personable and accommodating. Â Almost all options on the menu were under $10. Â I wish I had the opportunity to eat here for dinner (as they do not appear to serve lunch) but will certainly keep this place in mind if I am to ever return in the future.
We've never gone to Brittany's for anything other than breakfast, but we always look forward to it whenever we're in the area (about once or twice a year). They have a good selection of omelettes and other b'fast items and everything we've had is really good. The service may not be the best you've ever had, but we've never had any issues with the waitstaff being friendly and responsive. My husband is particular about service and has never said anything negative about theirs. The only downside to Brittany's is that they're only open a few mornings a week for breakfast. I don't feel they deserve 2.5 stars, so I hope this review is found useful to others.
Review Source:Where to begin. Well, we should've known that the restaurant wasn't all that great from the look of the staff. The waitress was wearing something that looked like men's basketball shorts... very sloppy. After ordering a diet coke and letting her know that it was not diet, she insisted that she was correct and that she had poured a diet coke. A few minutes later, she realized that the syrup was switched in the machine. The prime rib was well-liked, but the pasta, on the other hand, was disgusting and unlike any other--- not in a good way. Two in our party got sick after eating here. Kids are supposed to eat free when showing the room key. The waitress was shown the key at ordering and charged for the meal anyways. When asking her about it, she said that the key really should be shown prior to ordering, which we had done. If you decide to stop, I would suggest standing up and making a long dissertation about your room key; this way, she will not be able to claim that it was not shown to her. Skip over this one.
Review Source:I got take-out from Brittany's and had a drink while I waited. The drinks (cocktails) there are relatively cheap (~5$) and they have a good selection (not awesome, but good). My companion tried the lobster mac and cheese which we both agreed was good. I had the trio of sliders. I didn't find them particularly great (I didnt really like the pulled pork or the crabcake ones). Waitstaff were o.k. They seemed a bit impatient and very variable in how attentive they were. The cheap cocktails are really the strong point here. They have a deck as well if eating outside appeals to you.
Review Source:Visited Brittany's while on vacation. Â The bar at our hotel didn't have the Pats game on, so we went on an adventure to find it. Â Luckily, we found Brittany's. Â Cute place- one room w/ the bar and a couple tv's, another back room with a few tv's, and outdoor seating (w/ more tvs!). Â Needless to say we were able to watch the Pats! :) Â We also ate dinner which was good. Â I had a veggie sub type thing... it was yummy! Â Friend had steaktips which were also delicious. Â Brittany's is a welcome addition to Lincoln!! Â I'd go back on my next trip to the White Mnts.
