Brown Dog Cafe & Wine Bar

This restaurant is one we visit each time we are in Lake Placid, and each time it seems to get better than the last. It had been two or more years since our last visit and this time it was for our anniversary. They had just open up in a new location so we were anxious to see it. We arrived early to have a glass of wine before dinner, which we were to be seated by the window during sunset. Little did we know they reserved us the best seat in the house. The wine bartender was extremely knowledgeable about our previous choices and current selections and even surprised us with some house favorites. The food was outstanding without a doubt! The food, service, atmosphere and excellent wine absolutely made our Anniversary night memorable. We will visit again and again ... and we are already planning our next trip to The Brown Dog. If there is one place to visit while in Lake Placid, this is it; you won't be disappointed.

Expensive tourist trap trying to ne more than they are.  Trying hard to catch that nyc vibe right down to playing frank over the speakers.

Had lunch there, chacutarie plate was average at best, some supermarket quality stuff here for $20, save yur $.

Ceasar salad was a joke at $9 for semi browned romaine amd i paid $6 to add shrimp that added 3 yes friggin 3 small 30-50 per pound shrimp, cooked to hell on a skewer.....

Wife's sandwich iwas good, thankfully which is why i didnt really bitch about anything......one glass of wine a.piece at it was an $85 mess......worth $45 at most......

Skip this place until they have a reality check......applebees quality sysco crap.....

What a wonderful,restaurant! Food,was fabulous. Lamb chops and filet were excellent as was the escargo,and Mac and cheese appetizers. Very attentive service. Will go back.
