BF and I stopped by here on our way to a hiking destination. Usually we're the type to clean our plates, but we didn't even want to finish half of our food at this place. The BBQ we ordered was super dry and the fries were limp. Â The large portions would be great if you could ignore the taste.
Review Source:Stopped for a mid-afternoon sandwich and fries to go, and wish I hadn't. Â Sandwich was very ample and the meat tender but just lacked any real flavor. There was a container of what appeared to be an au jus that tasted like a thinned out liquid from a can of baked beans with some familiar but unidentifiable flavor added.
The unsalted fries were real potatoes and had they been cooked properly had potential...but they were dark and limp. Seemed like they had been microwaved as did the sandwich roll.
Had the coleslaw on the side and this was the only bright spot.
This place really lives up to the "big food" it advertises about! Very, very good prime rib......and I have eaten LOTS of prime rib. I gave the owner "Bubba" Deach a head's up that I was having my birthday party there on the same night my favorite local band was playing. Bubba went above & beyond to accommodate me; he even advertised my birthday on his big reader board! The service was good, atmosphere was rockin', and the band (The Shortcutz) were awesome.
All the weekly specials at this place sound yummy; I will eventually try them all. I like the way the building is split up: bar, main room, dart room. Outside there is a deck, covered area, fire pit, and grassy area for hanging out. This is one of the best places to eat & party, east of Monroe. I recommend giving them a try.
Never seen a Denny's like this. Dropped in with a party of eight on a Friday night. Service was quick and friendly while we watched the BBQ cook several different kinds of meat. Menu was extensive and substitutions were welcomed. Prices were moderate and Baba had some great stories. Great bar and great food, unusual.
Review Source:Stopped by with a party of 12 and no reservation at lunch. Bubba's Roadhouse handled us in stride and presented a noteworthy lunch at a quick pace. The french dip was perhaps the best I've ever had...nice clean meat and a generous portion. I'll go back next time I'm in town and looking for a bite!
