This place is just dive bar fun. Â It has a good bar, good people, several TV's, video poker at the bar, about 4 pool tables, a shuffle board table and a patio. Â Oh...and it has one the those "rate your punch" games where you hit the punching bag. Â It's the perfect place to go when you've had enough of the "cute" Fredericksburg.
Review Source:When your website says $2 ALL drafts and that you offer Shiner and Guinness on draft, that means you offer $2 Shiner and Guinness draft. Patrons should not expect such then arrive to your establishment only to be greeted with a sign that says $2 domestic drafts. If I want to pay exorbitant prices for craft beers, I will do so at a non-smoking establishment. If I want to drink shitty domestic beer, I will stay home and hate myself for free.
Review Source:I love this bar. We were in town for a wedding and rolled up in our shuttle with all of our bridesmaid gear, and the nice staff out front offered to keep our bags locked in the kitchen while we got our boogie on. We also got flaming Dr. Pepper shots, which the bartender put in a pyramid. He then lit his fingers on fire and blew flames onto it. Flames. It was super super cool to watch.
Our waitress was so sweet, and at any point in the night we only had to be sitting down for about 2 or 3 minutes before she came by to see if we needed anything. Plus, one of my fellow bridesmaids was involved in a drink-spilling incident, and the waitress took her aside to help her get cleaned up. The best. Just good ole Texas hospitality.
The music was bangin' and the DJ was cool and actually took our requests. There is also karaoke on Saturdays interspersed with the DJ, and we naturally partook of that as well.
DEFINITELY worth a stop if you're in the area.
I went up to F-burg recently with my gf for her bday. Â Like everyone else we were walking from shop to shop checking stuff out. Â However, the strangest thing happened. Â I was getting kinda thirsty if you know what I mean. Â We hit up a couple of restaurant/bar type places but what I was looking for was an actual straight up bar. Â I asked one of the bartenders "Where is a great local bar to go to?". Â He pointed me in the direction of Buc's Bar and Grill. Â Which was super convenient because it was only two blocks off Main Street. Â Upon arriving the layout was very cool. Â They had the usual bar games like pool and shuffle board. Â They even had beer pong that you could actually put beer in your cups unlike the rules here in San Antonio. Â There was only a few people in the bar due to the fact it was 3 in the afternoon. Â The bartender was really friendly with equally friendly patrons. Â They def made me like I was a regular. Â What's nice too about this place that it's open till 2 am unlike most places in Fredericksburg. Â My only problem was the drinks were not as cheap as I thought they would be. Â But from what I understand every night other than Saturday has great drink specials. Â I most definitely will be going back to Buc's next time I'm in town.
Review Source:Today we went at halftime during the playoffs. We were the only ones there besides the band members picking up their equip from last nights gig. Â Â Â
Really smoky even tho no one smoking and the doors were open.
$3 domestics but no tv outside on the patio! Â What?!
Did not eat but the beer was cold and the bartender was attentive
When we were
there before and the outdoor fireplace was nice and warm but thIs would b the best thing I could say about bucs
If you want to have a Flaming Dr. Pepper with a local in a smoke filled bar that stays open til 2am with bass pumping music and the occasional karaoke smackdown then this is your place. Â
Lol... since I did so much of this in my 20s I was cool to leave it all behind but it is one of the only places in town that you can get food or drinks after 5pm. Â
Beware of the CHEESESTICKS!!!! Â Ok, so I was craving cheesesticks for some reason and so we got some. Â Should have asked a question when I saw that 4 cheesesticks cost $8. Â DUH!! Â
The guy brings out (No KIDDING) Â 3 lbs. of mozzerella cut into 4 huge chunks that were lightly beer battered and fried. Â My husband and I split one and left the rest. Â I felt like I was on an episode of Man Vs Food. Â Some things are just too ridiculous to be good. Â lol. Â I appreciated the novelty of it but even myself, an avid cheeseaholic, was defeated and might I add... constipated beyond belief. Â Just being honest. Â
It was a fun atmosphere and everyone was having a good time. Â I'd say go for it if you're on vacation.
This was 1 of 3 places in Fredericksburg that stays open till 2am. Stopped by on a Friday night at midnight and it was close to empty with 9 guys to 1 girl. There was live music but only about 5 tables and a small bar. Most of the place is taken up by the pool tables. They have a porch outside with some seating but it's too cold to sit outside. They had a drink special of $2 drafts that night and had bar food liked hot wings, fried pickles, et al for $5. I had a flier coupon for $5 off from our hotel which was pretty cool. The bartenders were friendly and fast. I wouldn't go back because I was suffocated by the smoking inside. All my clothes smelled like smoke the next morning. If they didn't allow smoking inside, it'd be a cool place to chill, considering it's Fredericksburg.
Review Source:This place has the best bartender ever!!! We spent a few days in Fredericksburg, and on our last night came and drank here at Buc O'Brians, after having a few drinks, my stomach was hurting a little bit and I made a face. The bartender asked what was wrong and I thought, "Oh Lord, I'm about to get us kicked out..." I told him that I just needed to burp, and instead of refusing us service, he came back with a pack of Gas-X! We continued to have a blast and he made us some flaming Dr. Peppers and that's about all I remember from that night...
