I will never understand the allure of buffalo wild wings. Standard wings joint that doesn't do anything special. A couple of their sauces are great. Luckily they sell them in bottles. I have recently decided to just pop in, grab the sauces I like, and sauce up the things I like at home. Sometimes that's chicken, sometimes that's burgers. Not at all worth the crazy long wait on game night or weekends.
Review Source:Buffalo Wild Wings is a fairly new addition to the conglomeration of chain restaurants on South Duff, and one of only two (the other being Panda Express) chain restaurants in town that we go to. Â
They're still working the kinks out, but I suppose the beauty of a chain restaurant is that they're all the same no matter which one you go to - that's kind of the point. Â For a long time, ALL the beers tasted the same. Â It was as though they had a number of different tappers that were all being fed by the same line. Â They seem to have worked that out, though, so the beer is better. Â The beer list, however, is not. Â I'm not just talking about variety of/quality of beers, although this leaves something to be desired, but the actual physical beer list is always inaccurate, and some of the beers are listed on the drink menu and others on the actual menu, which is confusing. Â
The food is the same at every other BWW you've ever been to. Â The wings are good. Â I'm a big fan of the spicy garlic sauce and like to try the other sauces and dry rubs, but haven't found one I like enough to order twice.
Management is very receptive to suggestions. Â On our most recent visit, a manager stopped at our table and had a long chat with us regarding our concerns about the beer list. Â Later in the evening, we flagged him down again to talk about why the carrots seem so dry (they're vacuum-sealed). Â Whether or not corporate does anything about it is another story, but it's nice that someone is willing to listen to suggestions.
The wings are the wings an they're great.
But seriously, HOW HARD IS IT TO MAINTAIN A COMPLETE AND ACCURATE BEER LIST???
They've got 20 crappy beers listed in the menu, 20 more crappy beers listed on the drink guide, and they always have to go check what good beers they have.
PRO TIP: Blue Moon is NOT a craft & specialty beer. It's not. Never was, never will be.
UPDATE: I wrote the above while at the restaurant (only written, not posted). Later the manager stopped by our table to see how everything was, and we talked with him about our concerns, and he actually listened to us. He explained that the beer selection was a corporate decision, but also said there was no reason that each table couldn't have an accurate and current beer list. I actually feel like he listened to us, understood our concern, and will do what he can do to implement our ideas. I really appreciate that.
