I don't understand why this place is know for their wings... There are so many better options, even other chain restaurants that are better. I guess they do have a large selection of sauces; but the actual wings are mediocre at best. The rest of their food is just so-so too. The service isn't the greatest either. It can be a quick place for lunch; and I guess it's a good environment if you want to watch the games. Though if that's what you're after, there are also way better places around town.
Review Source:Its a B-dubs. What else do you expect?
The food here tastes pretty much like the food at every other Buffalo Wild Wings. Just like any other, the menu contains the same wings, burgers, salads, sides, etc. Â However, I have found that the bar is the only place to have dependable service. Every other time I have come to this establishment, table service outside of the bar area has been slow and sluggish.
Given the dynamics of East Lansing restaurants, B-dubs is one of the only places to watch a sporting even comfortably. Given this fact, show up early if you want a seat for football or basketball games.
This review probably gets more stars than I normally would give a B Dubs, but the bar scene in East Lansing is nothing to write home about and there are literally no sports bars at all besides this one, so I guess 4 out of 5 is what it gets. Â It's nothing really special but I've never been frustrated with the service or beer (probably the only EL bar I can say that about). Â Good spot to watch a game.
Review Source:Went here for a friend's 20th birthday. The food is really delicious!!! but the wait staff is GOD AWFUL!!!! It took them about 30 minutes to get my drink to the table which I may add was a lemonade! In addition, the food took forever to be served to us. However, it was a Friday night and MSU everyone goes out on Fridays. Tonight I ordered the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wrap. It is really good! the sauce that they put on the kick had a nice flavor and kick to it!!!! My suggestion this is a good place to dine once in awhile if you are a college student on a budget like myself. However, my only suggestion is to arrive early, because it can fill pretty fast on the weekends. Other than that, great place and food!
Review Source:Oh good old Buff Wild Wings. Living in NYC I don't get a chance to kick my BWW craving so while I was out in East Lansing touring MSU I figured would pay the spot a long awaited visit.
BWW is a nice and easy choice. If you brews, wings and sports just come here and set up shop.
I got the mango habenero wings with a few beers and caught up on the scores while I chilled out.
Can't go wrong with BWW!
This place is really quite different depending on when you go.
For lunch, there's never any trouble finding a seat or getting a server to take your order. They have good wings/wraps/etc. lunch deals that are usually ready in under 10 minutes. This isn't my ideal lunch stop because I'm not crazy about wings, and would rather go somewhere else to get something I enjoy more. Their wraps and stuff aren't bad, but it feels like cheating to me to order those here.
On big sports nights or weekends, this place can be a madhouse. I went here for a UFC fight once, got there pretty early, and still had to stand. Our friends came later, and spent their night waiting in a line out the door. It seems to be like this even on non-event nights. Their drink specials aren't the best, but I don't think the prices or selection is too different from some other nearby bars.
This is probably the most fun B Dubs I've ever been to. I've been to others that were empty, boring, didn't have crowds on event nights but this place can be very fun. Just get there early or enjoy your view from the line outside!
As much as I LOVE eating at Buffalo Wild Wings, can we all agree that it is the absolute worst place to go out for drinks? SO EXPENSIVE. And downright awful specials when they do have them. Yes, I know the Miller Lite tallboys are .50 cents off tonight but can I just get a pint of GOOD beer? Oh, those are still 8 bucks? I'll just have water =/ Plus it doesn't ever seem like the beer is all that fresh. They have a lot of taps but I don't think they change them often enough to keep up with their beers going stale. This place can get pretty crowded on any night and it's not even my first choice to go to watch a game because I hate the projector screen TV's. They're a good size (and actually, the tvs at this location are a little better) but I feel like during the day the sun washes out the screens. I like the trivia games though =) And the wiiiiiiiiiiiiiings, of course!!!!
Review Source:My very first BDubs experience was at this college town location.
I guess I can't say many great things seeing that it's located right near campus, it's always filled with college students. Â It's always busy and you have to always "hunt" for decent seating. Â It's truly difficult to come here with a group of friends when you're watching everyone like a hawk. Yes, it gets that bad here. Â It's good for there business since they are always jammed packed, but for customers like myself, I'm automatically steered away from them due to the high capacity of people there.
There wings were ok. Â I'm guessing that I didn't like them because of my struggle to even enjoy them. Â You place the order, you watch tables like you're about to jump on top of someone just to have a seat and by the time you get to sit down, you're trying to hurry up to eat so it clears room for other people wanting to eat.
Yes, this would be a great place to go have a drink with a buddy or two, but so mot worth it to grab a bit to eat with a group.
Each time my girlfriends would want to go here to grab a drink and watch a game...I'm always saying "do we HAVE to go there?"
I'm glad this one experience at this college town based restaurant/bar didn't set me up for disappointment in other BDubs.
As the first stop on my class bar crawl, I wish this would have been the last. I say that because of how expensive, but how delicious, the drinks were. Some people ordered appetizers, which they appeared to have enjoyed. I ordered a strawberry mojito and a midori sour, both of which were tart to perfection. I would definitely return for drinks, but likely only order if they were on special.
Review Source:This is probably East Lansing's best sports bar...and like any sports bar, it has all of the expected issues. Lots of dudes sitting on uncomfortable chairs craning their necks to look at the TVs and bored girls sitting next to them in hoodies picking at their boneless wings or buffalo chicken salad.
BW3 does a good job of managing these inherent challenges by putting TV screens all around and offering a more open/social area toward the back. Â Granted this was not my favorite bar in East Lansing, but for a sports bar it's really not too bad and on MSU gamedays this place is probably the best place to be.
Another plus of this place is their proximity to Georgio's and the late night spot formerly known as Big Ten Burrito.
This is my favorite BWW of all that I have tried (in 5+ states). Also, it was one of my favorite EL places...I remember staying for 8 hours on an MSU-UM football game day.
I love the boneless wings and Thursdays are the best time for it (yay 50 cents!)
Sam Adams Cherry Wheat on tap (with cherries) and the huge tv's also add to the awesomeness.
I am generally a big fan of BWWs, which is why this one gets a 3 despite charging cover for a UFC fight. Â The one in Ann Arbor definitely does not do this, and we even called this establishment prior to the fight and they claimed cover was not being charged. Â At least they gave us our money back when we discovered the place was full...
Review Source:I love BW's. Â The food is good. Â I love all the sauce choices. Â There are always several games on the many big screen tv's. Â The downside to this particular location is over crowding. Â During any big game it is impossible to get in, and forget finding a table. Â Plan ahead and get there early. Â It is worth it.
Review Source:I love B-Dub's. The weekly wing and drink specials are fantastic, but as Kristen B. said, don't bother with the martinis (or really any of the other mixed drinks for that matter) because they're way too expensive for what you get. Plus, they're pretty weak.
What I also really like about B-Dub's is that my friends who are not yet 21 can come with me. I drink, they don't, and we all enjoy our wings. This is probably the only place in East Lansing that you can do this, too.
I almost let a recent bad exp. bring down my rating of this place, but I'm bigger than that.
B-dubs- what's not to like? Â Bar food, NTN trivia, a plethora of tvs. Â Yeah it gets crowded on game days, NCAA tourney time, and St. Patty's day, but all in all it's not a bad place. Â I prefer this place in the summer, when the students aren't around (says the crotchety old man). Â
Oh yeah, on Fridays they have a dj and a psuedo dance floor (don't know if this is still going on or not). Â Most people come here because it's a sports bar, but there have been a couple "club" people up in the mix on these days.
I must say I was truly disappointed/pissed off at my last visit. Â I came here the Sat. after Thanksgiving with some friends. Â Most students had not come back yet, so it was pretty dead. Â We put in an order of food to our server, P****a S., who, at this point only has 2 tables. Â 35 minutes later, we still have no food. Â The twat forgot to put in our freakin' order! Â She comes back to tell us "honestly, I forgot to put in the order, and it should be coming out in like 5 minutes." Â F that noise! Â Honestly, that's unacceptable. Â What's worse? Â She offered no kind of apology or anything. Â We told her to cancel the food, and she spent the rest of the nite ignoring our table. Â Love that customer service.
I was so irrate, I almost called the manager over, but I didn't bother. Â I kinda wish I had. Â We ended up at Harpers where they had 1/2 off all appetizers. Â We ended up feeding 8 of us for less than 1/2 the cost it would've taken to feed 4 of us (don't try and do the math, just know it was cheaper). Â Sure the food wasn't as good, but quantity over quality late nite tends to win out.
Chuck Norris rating- chicken neck snap
Mango Habanero boneless wings, how I miss you so.
I spent countless Thursday nights with friends at this B-Dub's location. They have some great late night specials during the week (Sunday through Thursday I believe), including discounted appetizers and mixed drinks. Their margaritas are good, but don't bother with the martinis (these tiny drinks are hardly worth the price you'll pay).
I wish there was a B-Dub's near me in California. :(
The worst thing about this place is the service (intelligence is not required to work as a server here): beyond that, it's a fun place to watch sports, eat wings and drink beer. They keep it simple, although if you get tired of the wings, the Naked Tenders are excellent, too. They need to serve more vegetables with the wings, though. The celery portions are dinky. Also, the smoking section tends to get crowded with a lot of college kids acting ridiculous, so keep that in mind if you go. The best time to go here, actually, is when school is out of session.
I remember when it was BW3, around the corner and in the basement. It's less of a drinking bar now and more of a sports bar, so choose as you will.
Oh, B-dubs. You never let me down. Large beer, wings and TV's. You just can't go wrong. The best part is now that some of us are not college aged anymore, we can still go and you don't make us feel like old people. Don H., I also have tons of memories of the old skanky B-dubs in the basement, but the new place is just a good in my mind.
Review Source:Does anyone else remember when it was called Bdubs? How about when it was in the basement and it was the "backup bar" for when there was a line everywhere else? I miss skanky Bdubs. It will always have a special place in my heart since I threw up on the table on my 21st birthday.
That's not to say that the new classy Bdubs is all bad. It's a good place to watch a game and drink a tall, cool Blue light. Minus one star for Bdubs booty night. It is disgraceful to have a dancefloor in a sports bar.
The wings have gone downhill in recent years, but still better than anything in CA.
If you know me, you know I am a sucker for wings. My uncle is a cook and no one can quite make wings like him... but in some cases, you just have to take what you can get.
And Tuesdays at B-Dubs, they have 30 cent wings... serioulsy, how can you resist? They have a million (not literally, but 14 is pretty exciting) different sauces you can chose for your wings- from spicy garlic, honey bbq, carribean jerk, and just plain "blazin.'"
another thing i love is that it is not only an "in-house" deal, you can get the 30 cent deal through carry-out. now that's sizzlin'
