Let me start out by saying there Biscuits are Amazing!, I would sale a Kidney for the Recipe for them. We drove up from Columbus, as we were walking to the door almost got ran over by about 40 bikers, We were seated on the porch, a little to cramped for my opinion but a beautiful view. Went to the Buffet line to Fill my plate, Nothing had a tag on it to tell you what it was, I got what I thought were Gizzards and boy was I wrong. I could not even get my 16 month old to eat them. The green beans came st right out of a can, so seasoning, no ham, nothing. Felt like Hospital food. The Fried chicken was done in small bathes so it stayed fresh! It was pretty good, as well as the BBQ ribs. Went to pay for our meal and Asked if they offer military discount, and she said only in uniform, I nicely told the woman, not everyone parades around in there uniform, especially when its a family outing. I asked for a Piece of Pecan pie and banana pudding to go. We just had them this evening and that's one thing I can say they do well is desert.

Do not care too much for buffets but this place is true southern cooking with home made deserts a la carte. Not the greatest variety but that's why everything remains so fresh. Been there twice...great professional "true southerner" waitress  keeping my sweet tea glass full.  Had yeast rolls, corn bread, black eye peas, butter beans, fried chicken, country fried steak, fried okree,  fried green 'maters"...and more....loved it all.  Mostly locals eat here....was last here on a Monday for lunch and it was pretty full. A block off the main drag in historic Warm Springs, Ga. About 12 bucks a person for  lunch  plus drink plus desert if you can spare room.

We've always enjoyed eating here and the food is usually good. But it is not worth the wait. Two hours of waiting for a table is ridiculous (but after making the 30+ minute drive, you're in it for the long haul). And the management is rude.

The quality of the food has decreased in recent years.  The "famous" fried green tomatoes are relatively tasteless, even with the "spicy" sauce.  The fried chicken is crispy but not overly flavorful. And everything else has a general cafeteria-style taste.

I don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

I'm not sure how Bulloch House has such good reviews.  My wife grew up about 2 miles up the road and we've gone in once, which is quite enough.  Talking with the rest of her family (there are 5 aunts/uncles and their families within 10 miles), and they share the consensus that it wasn't a Mistake to visit, but it's not good enough to bother with another visit.

The food is really quite unremarkable, as in you could walk into a grocery store and buy food from their deli that's of the same quality.  At least the price isn't out of line for the quality of food you receive.

I wish I could recommend someplace else for the hordes of tourists who flock through Warm Springs, but sadly there are no places to eat that are worth the money.  At least that we've found.

In a nutshell, the best the South can offer. My husband and I visited this afternoon after driving all the way from Minnesota to visit family down here. When I asked Jarod (our host) if we could sit away from the more crowded tables, he said we were in luck with our timing, and he took us out to a closed-in, air-conditioned porch, where it was quiet and cool. The view was fabulous! Shannon, our server, was prompt and remembered all the variations of tea we wanted (sweet tea with no ice, unsweet tea with half ice, sweet tea normal, etc.). The buffet selection was a compendium of Sunday favorites: chicken and dressing, fried chicken, ham, butter beans, sweet potato souffle, fried green tomatoes... the list goes on and on! We were visited at a good pace by wait staff to refill our drinks and collect our used plates. Southern hospitality at its finest! Thanks to Jarod (Jared? So sorry for not knowing the correct spelling) and Shannon for the careful attention and professionalism.

A buffet style restaurant in an old house - kind of an odd setup, but OK as far as it goes. The downside is the you have to navigate the main hallway to get to the buffet and back to your seat, which is a major traffic problem. I was lucky I didn't get run over by the busboys. Further, the cart for the dishes is right in the hallway, which clogs up traffic further and is unappetizing to boot.

Luckily the food was decent. Not good, but decent. The fried chicken was fresh and crispy. The sweet potatoes were SWEET and creamy, but being presented in a tray and smooth was a bit offsetting. The mashed potatoes were good, with the pot roast gravy was divine. The butter beans were ok once I poured some pepper sauce on them. The corn had some odd extra flavors - not sure why they didn't just have normal corn. I did like the fried green tomatoes - they advertise them and they were hot and crispy like I wanted. Sadly, they need some more kick in their breading because while tasty they were a bit bland. The fried apples were soggy and flavorless, tho.

The price was pretty good for the whole set, although it's extra for dessert. Our table shared a strawberry shortcake and I can't say I was impressed. The strawberries were soggy, the cream was from a can, and the 'shortcake' was just angel food. Blah.

Service was pretty good at clearing away plates and refilling drinks, but I have a feeling the only reason it was crowded was that there aren't a whole lot of other options in Warm Springs.

I'm from the south and this is definitely not the best southern food I've ever eaten.  The fried chicken was delicious, but everything else was mediocre.  We ate from the buffet so maybe the food is better if your order off the menu, but we were not impressed.
The service and atmosphere were great though.

    DISAPPOINTING FOOD - NICE LOCATION.

The location and  house the restaurant is located in is wonderful - very similar to the "Blue Willow" in Social Circle, GA. After seeing the great reviews below, we were expecting good food - boy were we wrong. There was a change in management/ownership in March 2011, and it shows. My wife and I went at 6pm on a Friday night and expected it to be packed - there were only 3 cars in the parking lot! The hostess was courteous and friendly, and the interior of the restaurant/house was magnificent. The "buffet" was lacking the variety we expected. The Fried chicken is not crispy, but had a soft, mushy texture, as as do the fried green tomatoes (this is because it is a buffet, and these items sit out a while). The macaroni and cheese was a bit stiff and dry. The banana pudding (for extra cost), however, was delicious. Still, it's way overpriced for what you get. Frankly, any Golden Corral would beat the quality and variety of this buffett. But if you want to be surrounded by a true southern antebellum home and it's atmosphere, this is the place to go. If you actually want a good meal, try "Oscars" - it's only a few miles down the road and has FAR better food, a wonderful menu, good prices, and GREAT fried green tomatoes. We went there the second night we were in Warm Springs and wished we had gone there first.

Bless my heart but this was the best freakin' Southern food I've ever had. It's 1.5 hours outside of Atlanta and Mama and I already looking forward to going back.

Bulloch is worth the road trip. It's only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday so we had the lunch buffet. Everything was amazing. For $8.95 we pigged out on fried chicken, baked chicken, taco pie, green beans, squash, biscuits, dinner rolls, fried green tomatoes, green salad, pasta salad, and I can't even remember what all else.

And then. It was. Time for dessert. Did we want the brownie fudge sundae or the caramel cake, or six layer cake, or the banana pudding or peach cobbler? No. We want the Red Velvet Cake. Mama said it was the finest she'd tasted in decades.

I'm going to have to rent a mini van and drive my book club girls down there for a lunch. This bounty must be shared. Go now!

Have you ever encountered a buffet so Southern that it included both boiled peanuts and fried green tomatoes?

Me either. Until The Bulloch House.

This epitome of southern grand 'ole is housed in what is sure to be some sort of historic mansioneque place - has a bustling take out, catering and retail area, with the real reason to check it out being the buffet.

Once you pass by the buffet, there's no question that you wont be ordering off the menu. In fact, my guess is that it's actually a decoy menu - and used only once in a blue moon. The buffet has the likes of fried chicken, fried apples, green beans, stewed tomatoes, pot roast . . . and of course the aforementioned boiled peanuts (Cajun, mind you) and (incredible, mind you) fried green tomatoes.

If you visit Callaway Gardens or the "Little White House" then try this place out.  All you can eat Southern cooking at it's best.  And yes they do have fried green tomatos.
