Ended a fun double-date night at the speakeasy. I've never been here before, so didn't know what to expect other than it being a bar.
Wrong.
The storefront is a red telephone booth, a covert entrance into the hidey hole that is a 1920s-style prohibition era speakeasy. You have to pick up the phone and dial a number and ask for Donnie's Taxi Service (because, after all, alcohol is illegal), before you get in. Super cute, right? It's like an accidental theme night you've been subjected to.
Inside is done up with 1920s decor with period furniture, lamps and curtains. Â The drink menu has some great martinis and cocktails. Even moonshine cocktails, which I haven't seen before. Â There is also a selection of cigars for those so inclined.
The only problem I foresee? The long staircase you have to go down to get out. Have you seen drunk people try to manage stairs? Not pretty.
All in all, a fun night. Would definitely go back.
