This is my favorite Bar in town.  It's low key and unassuming.  The crowd is typical = bar fly, to motorcycle cowboy to young locals.  The beer is cheap and  there are darts a pool table and an ongoing jukebox.
What you will not find here: UOP students & tourists
VEggie Friendly: yup!
What can I say? It's basically a high school reunion whenever I decide to go in there. (that's not necessarily a good thing in my book)... plus, it can get sketch later in the evening.
However, the barkeeps are friendly and they happen to have the coldest Blue Moon on draught that I've ever had the pleasure of drinking.
Straight dive bar status.
The Anchor (as I've coined this place to be nicknamed) is quickly becoming a favorite mid to late night drink spot of mine.
The drinks are cold, stiff, and cheap. The bartenders are all very friendly. They have free popcorn which you can lather in Tapatio and lime juice if you're cool like me.
The best part about The Anchor is sitting back playing a fun game of darts, only a quarter per game might I add, and shooting the shit with friends.
Captain's Anchor is a slightly rough, blue collar North Stockton neighborhood bar; bikers, Jager shots, Metallica blasting, and an old man PASSED OUT up front waiting for a taxi. Â
The drink prices can compete with dives'. Â $3.50 tall Bud Light? Â Nice. Â Stiff drinks are poured. Â Stella and Blue Moon are on tap too. Â
Tip: Before you come here crumple your t-shirt into a ball to get a good wrinkled texture, otherwise you'll feel uncomfortably overdressed.
