As a table we ordered a number of dishes- beef and chicken enchiladas, fish tacos, asada tacos and even a steak salad. There were no complaints. I think the enchiladas were especially flavorful and offered more than a typical bland Mexican enchilada. Great place- look forward to coming back.

When you ask people about Mexican food in town you hear that Carlos and Harley is the best they have had in town.   Keep in mind it is the only mexican food in town.

Service is tolerable but I find that this is an issue with all the restaurants in the area.   Server in the area only do the minimal possible to still consider them a server.

The place looks nice but I think it is more into being a bar then a restaurant.   Loud music, over the top decorations, shirts to sell and alcohol ads all over the place.

The chips and salsa on the table were good.  You get three different salsa that anyone can have.   They do charge you for the next refill

While we were making the order something was burning in the kitchen and the whole restaurant filled up with smoke.   Since the staff was not alarmed then I suspect that this was a common occurs.

I ordered the fish tacos.   You have a choice of Tilapia or salmon for the fish.   I choose the tilapia fish.  You get tons of cabbage and white sauce and a small piece of fish.   It was good if you take out some of the cabbage.

So if you are in the mood for mexican then this is the place, really, the only place to get it in Eden utah.

Living close by, we frequent this restaurant, and it's very consistent.  I love the Mega Burrito with fajita steak and the poblano sauce.  The staff has always been friendly and accommodating (unless you show up 2 minutes after closing during the slow season).  It's nice to have quality food this close to home, especially since there is a limited selection in the area.

What a fun discovery! I found this restaurant here on Yelp when I found myself in the Ogden Valley recently. It's got a friendly staff with excellent service.  With delicious food in generous portions, you can't go wrong. They bring three types of salsa with their complimentary chips n salsa. I had the cabo shrimp salad - the marinade on the shrimp was heavenly. Be aware that patio seating is on a road where lots of trucks ramble by, so if that's not your scene opt to eat indoors. I'll definitely be going again. :)

Seriously legit Tex-Mex food. Here are some highs and lows:

    Highs...
    - generous portions--Who are these folks feeding when they say the plates are shrinking?!
    - tasty and house-made eats--We've had their guacamole, chips and salsa, ribs & shrimp, *taco special (1 lobster, 1 shrimp, and 1 fish), *steak fajitas, *bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, mega burrito, taco Tuesday special (unlimited tacos for $12.99). Basically everything is recommended, but what I starred above is not too be passed up. (We also wanted to try the chimichanga, but were stuffed. The dude next to us got it, and nearly locked his plate. Just sayin')
    - young, but nice waitstaff--Clint, as per my tip, is awesome. Just what you want from your waiter. He's accommodating, very knowledgable about menu items, attentive, and opinionated on personal recommendations.
    - relaxed, per usual tex-mex joint atmosphere--We liked sitting at the bar to watch the waitstaff and kitchen interact.

    Lows...
    - watered-down margaritas--I know, I know. This is utah, but still.
    - inconsistently cooked ribs--Because the plate was, per usual generous, this wasn't a big deal. That said if you are a hungry hungry hippo then you might be a little disappointed with the end of the rack of the baby back ribs; the first 2 ribs were really dry. (The rest were moist and fell off the bone!)

We're here for a week and have been back twice already. Good eats, especially after some long ski days.

We had dinner here after a day of skiing at Snowbasin and it was pretty good.  No waiting and the service was good.  My burrito was just ok but I wouldn't hesitate to come back and eat again.   The guacamole and chips and salsa were great as was the beer.  In fact, when we come back in March we will probably eat here again.

We met the owner who was very friendly and helpful. Free wifi! Nice menu, cool decor, very clean. All of the food and drinks were excellent, and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone in the Eden area.

This restaurant gets better every year.  The menu is now amped up with lots of choices for meat lovers and vegetarians/vegans alike.  Even though I am not vegetarian, my favorite is the veggie fajitas.  You get an enormous plate of grilled asparagus, mushrooms, onions, etc. with a wonderful grilled smokey flavor.  Perfect with their tortillas and hot sauces.  My teenage sons also love their more traditional orders and want to go back again before we go home.  I'd strongly encourage visitors to try out this place.  It also has an interesting site with some real old west feel.  Have a good time!

We've dined there many times and its one of the best options in ogden valley. The food quality is generally prety good but a little pricey.  Where this place goes wrong is with the service.   Service yesterday (Say 12/29/12) for lunch was the worst I have yet seen from this crew.  The hardest working person in the place was someones teenage son who was trying real hard.  We did not even see our waiter until 25 minutes after we sat down.  The teenagers brought us some chips and salsa about 10 minutes after sitting down and that was it.   I counted no less than 4 different customers having to get up and self service gettiing silverware, napkins and drink re-fills because the staff was non atttentive.   We had to get up and ask twice!!!!!!!!!!!    Our watier, the assisant manager said he was the only one there but clearly they had put someones son to work.   There was at least a few other employees there because they had time to chit chat with each other while there customers sat around waiting.  The worst part is that the manager was there and just sat at the bar the entire time and did NOTHING!. I repeat,  She did NOTHING!  No talking to customers, no helping the over loaded single waiter, absolutely nothing.....  something needs to change at Carlos and Harley's and it should start with firing the manager and getting someone in there who cares about customers receiving decent service.

This is not the first time we have seen this at Carlos and Harley's.

Carlos and Harleys has reasonably good food and they are one of the better options up in the Ogden valley.  Unfortunately the prices keep moving upward and the plate sizes continue to shrink.  Take a look at my photo and you can see my two entree combo crammed on a small plate.

Went here after a day of boating on Pineview. We were seated almost immediately, big plus. We ordered rather quickly and then we waited. And waited, and waited and waited. The food was finally brought out and honestly its not good. Basic mexican with no true unique characteristics. Worse than most mexican places. Spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere. Plus the waiter when I voiced my concerns about the hour and a half wait said "its a big F*#@!ing mess - not the typical responses when you have an issue at an eating establishment.

The food is... Meh... good enough. The price, however, is outrageous for what it is.  I mean if the food were outstanding,it MIGHT justify their prices...  But really, it's just average.

Plus they nickel and dime you to death for anything, ANYTHING, extra. A small condiment cup of guacamole, .99, extra tortillas for fajitas, a dollar.  Sour cream, .99...  The list goes on, and they shamelessly try to up sell these items at every chance.

If you're in the mood for Mexican, save yourself the drive and stay in Ogden or SLC.

Awesome Tex Mex food in little Eden. I'd travel 50 miles to eat here again. My girlfriend got the veggie tacos with black beans and I ordered  the tilapia tacos with refried beans. Everything was delish. Although, the kids quesidilla was super extra cheesy.  The warm salsas are to die for with the fresh, hot chips.

    Pros:
    - They put up with my brothers Mormon jokes.
    - They put up with my brothers Polygamy jokes
    - Wait was short.
    - They served alcohol (A shocker to me but I guess Mormons drink now.. ?)
    - The Mega-Burrito was far from Mega but well worth it. Marinated meat. Black beans. Creamy sauce layered on top.
    - Everyone really enjoyed their food.
    - The entire staff was very nice. We had short conversations with our waiter (Jeff, I think) and the owner (lady with the dark hair).
    - Free chips and salsa
    - Guac dip. It was probably three-four large scoops of fresh guac. They probably went through 10 avocados to serve that side. It needed a bit more salt but other than that, the taste was up to par.

    Cons:
    - No free refills (soda, beer, etc)
    - Somewhat pricey. Everything added up pretty quickly

We will be coming back here.

On my yearly visit to the Ogden Valley, we hit Carlos and Harley's once each trip. This review is for my most recent visit.

As an Austin-area Texan, I eat Mexican food at least once a week.  C&H certainly has some decent food.  Nothing that wowed me, but nothing that was really bad either.

The menu is pretty limited, atlhough they do have a couple of unique offerings, such as fish tacos and seafood enchiladas.

My primary gripes would be the price ($12 for a burrito) and the service.
It took us a good 45 minutes from the time we sat down until we had our entrees.  The place was full, but it seemed like everything, from getting chips, to getting our orders placed, to getting our food took about twice as long as I might expect,  And it took forever to get my water refilled.

I suppose I cannot expect Austin prices in Utah, but I had a much better experience at their other restaurant (Harley and Bucks) and Huntsville BBQ.

Pros: good food, nice atmosphere, decent beer selection.

Cons: very slow to get seated despite being empty (but fast service after that), wrong food (ordered enchiladas, got tacos, check said enchiladas).

Beer is overpriced; an Epic that goes for $3.79 at the state liquor store (where I presume the restaurant buys it) goes for a whopping $13 here.

I will return but I'm not inclined to recommend it just yet.

Got the Mega Burrito and the chicken fajitas and they were legit! Great service, always have full drinks and chips. Matt was our server, he was on the ball!

The location and the atmosphere are excellent.
the food is also very tasty, my only complaint is the service is VERY slow, there were only two cooks trying to keep a full house happy. Now I will go back because of the reasons I listed at the beginning, but they defiantly need more cooks to push the food out a little more efficiently without jeopardizing the quality. If they can be more efficient I would give them 4 maybe even 5 stars because it is a fun place to be, and I love the Margarita's.

My second successful check-in deal happened today at C&H's!
(And let's face it, the badge nonsense is ridiculous, but cool check in offers please; if only there were more...)
Anyway, if you're in Eden, you can happily and safely drop in to this Mexican joint for some tasty food and pleasant atmosphere.

    Reasons to go:
    - Great service
    - Awesome deck seating with misters for that frolicking through the sprinklers feeling when it's 1000 degrees in Utah
    - Good rellenos
    - Decent asada tacos which imply that fajitas could be quite tasty
    - Solid guac

    Reasons not to get overexcited:
    - Lame margaritas. Even the top shelf ones (Carlos) were limp.
    - Uninspired salsas
    - $2 per dish overpriced (though it is in Eden)

Certainly a fine place for some post-recreation squat & gobble.

Darn good food for Eden, Utah. Went for an afternoon drive to nowhere in particular, ended up in the area. Searched handy dandy Yelp to find some grub close by. This popped up, was a little wary since 4 of the 5 reviews were 5 stars and their only review. But they had a check in deal for a free guacamole app. Free is good.

Got seated right away, everyone was super friendly. Free chips and salsas. Three of them. To go with our massive scoop of free guac. Which was a small order?! It was super tasty though. We slathered it on everything. I got the pick 2 make your own plate. Beef tostada and chicken enchilada. The tostada was tasty and loaded with tender juicy shredded beef. The enchilada was ok. The chicken was juicy, everything else was just a bit bland. My husband got the asada street tacos for some  "light" eating. Lol! He didn't take the piled high with meat part seriously. These are NOT Del Taco or Taco Time "street tacos". These were some serious beefy tacos. The asada was amazing. Very flavorful and tender. Melted in your mouth. If we ever find ourselves back in the area I will be getting them. Definitely a standout dish.

decent prices, massive portions. Very fresh tasting. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Ambiance was nice too. Colorful wrought iron decor on the walls but not overtly tacky.

This is one of my favorite restaurants.  The Carlos' margarita is awesome, you can sit outside if its nice and enjoy the view.  Sometimes the food is hit and miss (miss the asada tacos! no flavor) but the drinks, the chips and salsa and the guacamole is not to be missed.  Sometimes they have live music on the patio.  Definitely worth the drive.

My crew of 6 headed here after the morning skiing at Powder Mountain and we were greeted by a super friendly server, quickly followed by some tasty eats.
I ordered the fajitas and they were delicious, steak was cooked to a medium rare perfection, but the true standout were the tortillas which were warm buttery and quite possibly some of the best tortillas I have ever had.
I also ordered a margarita which was surprisingly strong and delicious for my expectations for Utah...
I would definitely head back there over the high priced ski-shop available at the mountain.
