What a cute place! I've always lived in the area but have never been to Carmella's until the other night; it's my boyfriend's favorite place. I had the shrimp riggies which were great-- I'm a huge riggie fan and was very satisfied with what I got, though I do wish there was more sauce.

If you go, make sure to order the cannoli waffle sundae for dessert... Absolutely incredible! It's vanilla ice cream with strawberries, chocolate chips and whipped cream, with a waffle with cannoli filling on the top. Make sure you save room!

Went today for their Sunday breakfast which I never knew about, it was great.
Big portions and so cheap it was almost free!
The atmosphere was also more enjoyable than a crowded, noisy diner.
I have always enjoyed going there for dinner, but I definitely think I found my Sunday morning breakfast spot.

They're known for their homemade pasta so went for the spaghetti and meatballs/italian sausage. The pasta was a little curly (not typical straight pasta) and hearty. It had a nice bite so not at all mushy. The sauce was "meh" with not much flavor. I had to add salt which is not typical of me. The meatballs and the sausage were delicious though.

For the soup I had lobster bisque which was thicker than I thought it'd be and was a little spicy. Too heavy before a pasta dish. The bread was warm although nothing really special.

I ordered a traditional cannolli to go and it was yummy. A thin tube was lots of sweet ricotta filling and mini chocolate chips. The shell was crispy which meant that it was freshly filled with the cheese and not sitting around so it's soft and icky.

The service was attentive, friendly and fast. The seating was comfortable and the interior was cozy. I loved the music - old school late 70s and early 80s. Reminded me of my disco days in my teens :-)

Cost was less than $12 for the dish. Soda was about $3.
