*Disclaimer: I am a huge karaoke fanatic
I came here once with a group of friends. It's nice how you get to have your own private room to sing your heart out, embarrass yourself, etc! The room is spacious with a couple of couches for you to be comfortable.
The only downside about this place is -of course- this is a Taiwanese/Chinese karaoke joint. There's an okay selection for English songs and barely any for Korean songs. The majority are Taiwanese and Cantonese songs, really.
Because of this, I feel like I sang pretty much every Korean song and my friend exhausted the entire English song selection. I had a fun experience, but I probably will not come here again. There's no need for a replay. I'm more inclined to sing updated & new songs. :)
I believe it was ~$12 pp happy hour from 2-7pm including a drink. This place is pretty spacious but definitely does not have the most modern decoration. There were stickers on the wall and what not. Oh, and a disco ball too.
Service is quite efficient and friendly. We had troubles with the mic a couple of times, and they were there to help us fix it. Turns out even tho they give you 4 mic for a big room.. you can only use 2 mics at a time.
The music selection is not the most updated, but all the basic and common songs are there.
My friends and I went to Cashbox KTV this past Friday. While we did have a good time, I think that had more to do with the company than the actual venue. The prices aren't too bad. I think it was like $28/hour so with 5 people that's less than $6/hour each.
Each person is required to buy a drink or food item. We ordered a couple teas and some chicken. The chicken was decent, but I didn't really like my milk tea.
The room setup was decent. However, the music system was not that good. If you can't read Chinese it is difficult to navigate. Even after you figure out what you are doing you only have a mouse to control the system. It would be a lot nicer of a keyboard was included. Rather we have to scroll through large lists to find what we wanted to sing. Once you find some songs you'd think you could have a good time, until you realize the some of the lyrics aren't even correct. Honestly you can tell the probably took the pirated music videos and tried adding the lyrics themselves.
The service added to our horrible experience. When we walked in we noticed one of their workers serving a bottle of alcohol to some other customers. Being that Karaoke is much easier when drunk we asked to order some, but were told they did not serve any. But we very clearly saw them hand a bottle to other customers. We ended up just ordering our teas. However when it was time to pay the added a 15% gratuity. REALLY?!?! For 4 milk teas and popcorn chicken?!?! And normally I wouldn't complain about something like this because I regularly tip 20% on most meals, but what upset me was that they added the gratuity on the entire bill (including our karaoke time). That doesn't even make sense to me.
I ended up just paying the bill, but I don't ever expect to come back here. You may want to reconsider if debating visiting Cashbox KTV.
As a karaoke enthusiast, best bang for buck ever!
If you go on a weekday, you can sing from 2-7 for $10 per person, which includes a drink. Seriously, that is an amazing deal. I think on the weekend it is $15 so it's still a great deal. The service is friendly, and the drinks are great. I ordered the green milk tea, but I would recommend the lemon tea just because your throat will be dead after the second hour (or first couple of minutes if you're screaming out Aerosmith and Bon Jovi XD). Â
Clean restrooms. Also, the sign of this place is in Chinese, so just look for the store on the left of Sam Ash. As for the song selection, it's solid, definitely a huge Chinese selection, but the English section could have been better. Â I love the touch screen song lists but I kind of miss the song books because only one person can search for a song at a single time.
Overall, not the best song list selection, but great sound system and amazing happy hour deals. Sing away my friends! XD
I recently went here twice and it's kinda of a hit and a miss situation here. The first time I came around they made the room so freaking hot and even when we asked to make the room cooler I was still dying from the heat.-_- I was really bothered by the place because it still reeks of smoke even though there is a no smoking sign. The last thing that really threw me off was the fact that I saw a cockroach running right in front of me and I was really paranoid right after that. This all happened the first time I came here and this is probably why I rate the place so low.
The second time I came here was a lot better in which we got a bigger room and it was happy hour. Although I found that the 2nd time i came here the music video seems to be in bad quality compare to my first time here but it's nothing to go crazy about. The happy hour that was from 3-8 was just swell and I would definitely come back again at this time because they have A LOT of songs that are new and old vary from English to japanese to chinese to korean. So in terms of the whole songs category it is quite up there. They use the wireless mouse for putting in songs and on the other side there is a touch screen monitor so each side has the power to put songs in but you can only use one monitor at a time apparently.
Regardless if none of the things that happened on my first time around I would probably give this place a 3-4 stars but for now it would be a 2.
This place is a total joke to me. I chose to go here over Energy (a friend's recommendation) because I have had previous good experieneces with Cashbox (overseas), nevertheless, being there tonight made me totally regret that I didn't listen to my friend's advice (Note: I haven't been to Energy yet so can't say how great/bad it is). Our room had really bad speakers, and I would say that it was quite unbearable for us due to the amont of distortion coming from it. We were there for only 1 hour and can't wait to get out by the end of the night...some songs sounded so bad that we literally skipped it. We were very disappointed with the poor sound quality (even my car's stereo sounded better than that!). Some said that they have quite updated songs but I personally couldn't find a handful of "latest songs" (around 2-3months old), but that didn't really bother me as US don't usually get the latest systems. However, talking about system, I must say that their "song selector/menu" system is one of a kind - 1.Their interface does not look good (don't see the whole point of customizing their template), 2. It can be pretty confusing, and  3. I agree that it will not be easy for someone who doesn't read Chinese.
Lastly, one thing that I wouldn't be complaining about is probably the drinks ( I got myself a pot of hot tea, which realistically can't go wrong); however, the size of my popcorn chicken was pretty small in US standard..I would say the size is forgivable if you are in Asia, but not in US when most stuffs are given in big proportion.
Overall it's a disappointment and wouldn't recommend it to someone who has been to Cashbox (overseas) or been to some decent Karaoke somewhere else, where they care about decor, sound systems and food proportions.
Came here for a friend's birthday after getting drunk next door at Luxy 101. Â For a karaoke place, I thought it was pretty nice and cozy inside. Â I been to other karaoke places, especially in Korea town, and this place actually surprised me on how nice it was. Â The price is a little pricey, but then again karaoke has always been pricey. Â They do serve food and drinks here, but no alcohol. Â They have a good variety of songs to choose from and also nice television with nice sound system. Worth checking out.
Review Source:We came from Irvine where there's no Chinese KTV around. I looked up yelp and found this place. I thought it might be a spin-off but its the real Qian Gui. Some of the services we were expecting are different but that is ok. The hardware system (sound system, mic) here is decent; better than the Korean place in Diamond Jamboree plaza. We gotta room with a wireless mouse for navigation, very slick to use.
Minor update on the pricing for weekend happy hour - it is $12 per person + one free drink.
The only thing that seems out of place is the decor. They really need some home improvement done on stuffs like doors and walls (not the decoration but better sound proof). The place was so not sound proof my friend blasted out so loud that he pwn3d the people singing on the stage in lobby area.
Overall this is a great place. I recommend it for those of you who have this urge to find a decent Chinese KTV place in socal.
Great place! Friendly staff! Very accommodating especially since we had about 24 adults and a boat load of kids. I liked the karaoke song selection system and they had alot of new English songs! Only downside was that we rsvp'd for a bday party which on their website they said they would decorate rooms with balloons and give free bday cake. We made sure and lady said yes it's true, but when we were ready for cake they said they don't do that!!! So take cake and balloons out of website then! Other than that I would recommend
Review Source:This is one of the better Cashbox that I've been to. Â Most Cashbox KTV are extremely old and always in need of an update. Â I think this one is not bad. Â
My friends and I came here Sat night. Â I'm the only person that sings Mandarin songs, so it was difficult for us to find songs we can all sing. Â They have some English songs, but it is in need of an update.
I don't know if there's any other KTV places that offers more English songs, but there's no need in coming to Rowland/Diamond Bar area if you live in Irvine area.
If you live in Irvine area, Plush is the way to go. Â Plush offer more English songs, so if you have a group of friends that are not FOBs, then you won't be leaving them all bored and alone. Â Better yet, Plush sales beer, so after a few drinks, you'll be more relax to let go of yourself and sing. Â Plus, everyone sounds better after you have a few drinks too ^^
We usually come during happy hours either from 11:30am-3pm on Fri, Sat, Sun or from 2-7pm which includes a free drink. Weekends are $14/person during HH and on $12 on weekdays. This is probably the best KTV in the area for the value and quality especially if you come for the entire HH period. Note if you have guest that come in for at least 15 minutes they will be charged too.... It's located in a strip mall off the 60 between the Toys R us and Home Depot. The entrance way has a small dance floor and stage for night time performances. They often have night performances from 9pm-1am on thur-sat nights. The rooms are all pretty typical KTV rooms with small rooms (2-6 people) to large rooms (7-10+ people). All rooms have comfy couches with a large projector tv and sound systems. The large rooms in the back also have colorful disco balls with multiple lcd monitors to control the ktv systems. Note practically ALL the rooms are freezing so definitely bring a jacket if you're prone to getting cold easily like me. There song lists consist mostly of chinese songs ranging from early 90's to contemporary to even recent songs. But they also have a small collection of kpop, jpop, and english music as well.
The drinks are all pretty sweet for my taste but they come in a large mugs with cute colorful twisty straws. The food is pretty mediocre and almost taste like they just reheat it. So definitely try to eat before you come in. Or just eat some snacks...
I will admit its pricier than other ktv places you can go to, but I've been going here for years! Place has a pretty lobby, and it gets very crowded during happy hour. Song selection is pretty good, though my friends didn't find some of the songs they wanted. I found all of mine, but then again, Cashbox is known for its extensive Chinese song lists. I tried the food for the first time, and it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be :
Pickled pork rice/Minced pork rice: Two different items on the menu, yet they were exactly the same. Okay, so one was in a bowl and the other on a plate...It came with a thin layer of overly dry, ground pork and some cabbage, along with half of a tea egg. The tea egg was also dry and overcooked; it was like it's been left out for a bit too long.
Dumplings: Skin was a bit too thick for my liking, but it was juicy inside and pretty decent.
Seamen tea: Yea, don't laugh...It's also known as Peng da hai and is actually very good for your throat! ...I can still hear you guys laughing!!! Anyway, this tea was sweet and flavorful, unlike at other places like Energy, where they are very stingy with the tea and make it bland and not so great.
Service was good too. The employees came promptly when we pressed the Service button, though they seemed to be rushing. I'd come here again, but I wouldn't say this is the IT place to go to for ktv.
A room for 3 people was $30.00 per hour with a one-drink minimum. Â My friend and I had the iced green tea and it came out looking all pretty like a blended pina colada. Â Unfortunately I don't think it was green tea at all. Â It tasted exactly like jasmine tea. Â Hmmmm....
The lobby and rooms are nice, clean, and spacious, but if you don't have any interest in singing in Japanese/Cantonese/etc., good luck in finding songs! Â The system is super confusing for those only literate in English. Â They have books which do not include all the songs in the computer system. Â
Yes, there is a computer system in the rooms that allow you to select and input your desired songs. Â HOWEVER, it is categorized by how many words are in the title. Â I've been to Japan and that is how their selection system works, but in English, it is very difficult. Â Also, there is no option to type in a song you want (a search system), so you just have to go through pages and pages of a limited selection of English songs.
Besides that, the staff was pretty nice, but in the future I probably will do more research and find a place that is more... English-friendly.
Oh! Â And yes, they don't serve alcohol!!! Â :( :( :(
I have no idea why this place rates so high. I sing mostly Cantonese songs and sometimes Taiwanese songs, and I have found that there are virtually no new Cantonese songs, only new Taiwanese songs. The service there is below par, and the place is pretty old looking as well. Since the brand new Music Box is just a block away, with all the new songs and better atmosphere, I don't understand why I would want to come back to this place.
Review Source:Juiciest KTV
Best KTV in town! If you are somewhere around the 60 fwy, this is the ktv to be. They have all the newest and coolest songs in English and Chinese. Inside has nice decor and clean and nice furniture. Â I always look forward to getting their delicious food and fresh juices made when ordered. I personally think the food and drinks here are better than a lot of cafes. Service here is awesome! They are quick and very accomodating. This place is very modern where they have touch screen monitors to input your songs. Great place to go to take visitors from out of town or just a place to hangout. I go ktv's all the time and I know this place is one of the nicest around.
This is a pretty nice KTV place in that there's actually many large rooms to accommodate many parties.
This was the second place that my group tried to visit on Saturday night, and thankfully, unlike the one earlier, we didn't get turned around because of overbooking or lack of sufficient rooms.
Even the front of the place is pretty large. The rates are reasonable--I believe it was $60.00 an hour or so for the VIP room. Obviously, it'll be extra if you order stuff. I just had a milk tea, which was pretty standard.
My big qualm is that they don't serve alcohol in this location. Either you have to drink before arriving so that you're going off your buzz, or the place needs to apply for a liquor license so you can order on the premise. Having booze readily available will easily make me shift my grade to five stars.
They are open until 2am, which is kinda nice. The sound system is also pretty good and the song selection is pretty large with both Chinese and English songs. They also have Japanese and Korean songs on the playlist, however, none of us ventured with those choices. One thing I did notice with the songs is that they contain the actual vocals of the original artist playing to a music video. You kinda have to sing over the artists in order to be heard. It wasn't really a big deal because if I suddenly blanked out on the melody of the song, at least I was able to fall back on the actual artist to pick up the slack.
Anyhow, if you come as a group, you'll all be yelling off tune anyhow...it won't be hard to drown out the original lyrics.
I don't know about the chinese/taiwanese song selection, but the english one is a little sparse. They have entire discographies for SOME artists, but for some reason, popular songs of really popular artists are missing from the list. Some popular artists had 2-3 of their less popular songs while the rest are MIA. I think they're picked based on the artist/band popularity is in Taiwan; singers like Backstreet boys, Britney Spears had their entire discography on there and Super Junior's Sorry Sorry was even on there. The sound system was decent and set to an appropriate loudness considering there's no drinking going on which means less drunken shouting.
Mandatory tea was below average. It's pretty watered down and the creamer is a little too strong. You get enough to last you 2 hours, but by the time the ice melts, it tastes like crap. If you stay till closing, they're gracious enough to give you 15 minutes before they shut down the system which is basically kicking you out.
This is the first karaoke place that I've been to which had the actual videos of the songs that we sang. I thought that it was pretty cool :) They have many rooms to choose from and it's about $50/hour so if you come with a big group, you should be fine. I was surprised that this place didn't offer any alcohol.... so we just drank tea and sang our sober hearts out.
We got a large room and I thought that our room was fairly clean and they offered a good selection of songs. They had a computer screen and mouse so you just pick the song by artist and/or song name. I thought that they had many new songs in both English and Chinese so that was a plus.
However, at one point while we were singing, the computer froze.... and as they rebooted our computer, all of the songs that we selected were erased. Since they weren't able to restart the computer correctly, we ended up leaving. They did give us a 10% discount... but I think that we deserved more since they rounded up our time spent and took a while trying to actually fix the damn thing. We were there for 2.5 hours but they charged us for a whole hour. So stupid!!
Besides our little computer crash situation, I thought that this place offered good service, a nice and clean environment, a large variety of drinks and food, and an organized list of songs to choose from. Again, if I'm in the area in the future, I would totally come back :)
Good times. Came here on Sunday for their 2pm to 7pm happy hour: $14 a person and you get a free drink. And the drinks are good. $14 for 5 hours of karaoke? Nice!
The rooms are great. Flat screens, computers for song selection. I heard in the past, you could smoke and drink, but apparently no smoking anymore, and only drinking if you can sneak it in. The result? A much cleaner, enjoyable KTV experience.
Good service, reasonable prices, clean rooms, good drinks: Good KTV.
One of the newest Karaoke places out there. The technology is up to date, with large LCD screens, touch screen monitors for song selection, and wireless microphones. The food is delicious, so having dinner while you're here isn't a bad idea either. I don't think I've ever had a 'bad' drink there, they were always pretty good.
The rooms are very new, well maintained, and nicely decorated. The minimum drink requirement is only applied during certain hours I believe.. Best to check their website for the Early Bird and Tea Time Happy House specials. They're great deals! Make sure to book your room at least a few days in advance, especially if you're planning a night or weekend.
Song selection is awesome. Very up-to-date with Chinese songs, and only a little behind on English ones. They also have a lot of other languages, but I don't know about those. Very easy to select songs with the touch screen, much better than the old way of using a remote with super large code books.
very impressive song database. I often go to Energy and K100 ktv, and neither of them have as many songs as this cashbox. Â For happy hour you only need 4 ppl to get a small room, and the room can fit 6-7 comfortably. the room also had a sony flat screen. only complaint was AC is centralized and it was too cold.
Review Source:No disco ball in my room. Service was spiffy because you can order from the computer system. You can also use computer system to choose tracks which is good but bad also (I sorta like old system better). I went during happy hour on weekend and price was very good. I would come back here again.
Review Source:Even though this is the only KTV I have been to, Cashbox KTV deserves an overall high rating.
This KTV offers private karaoke rooms in various sizes (small, medium, large). A small room can fit from 5-7 people will a large room can fit from 10-15 people. However, early reservations are required if you want a room during the weekend.
Many reviewers are not liking the "minimum drink" rule, but it is understandable to enforce that rule. In addition, the drinks come in a large glass and is reasonably priced. Customer service is great here.
The computer program made it easy for everybody to find the song they wanted to sing. Many songs are in the program, including up-to-date songs.
Come to Cashbox KTV if you want to have a good time!
I made it out all the way to Cashbox today from apartment in 90025. Â Even though it was a far trip, it was totally worth it.
Four of us reserved a room in the afternoon. Â The "small" room was rather spacious. Â We sang about 100 songs from 2pm to 7pm. Â The price was only $12 per person. Â We each also ordered a drink (they have options like warm oolong tea or iced boba milk tea, etc). Â The drinks were priced appropriately at about $4 each. Â Cashbox also has food if you get hungry.
The song selection process is really easy. Â You just need to use the mouse & monitor near the couch to select the songs you want to sing. Â Cashbox adds hundreds of new songs each month so you can find most new Chinese songs in their system. The sound quality is pretty good as well. Â I had a great time and it was so inexpensive.
Me and my friends randomly went to this place for karaoke on a saturday night because it was nearby. Well for a saturday night it was pretty empty for karaoke.
The place looks nice, they also have an open karaoke lounge where everyone can hear you sing. The karaoke room is spacious with fairly comfortable couches. The good thing about this place is that they have a big tv to go with the actual MV of the songs. They also have 4 wireless mics which was pretty good for big groups. (Only reason why it got 2 stars)
The Bad:
-I tried 2 drinks and they are horrible. I could make better drinks blindfolded.
-Selecting songs was a pain because you would have to use their computer to browse for songs. So whenever someone wanted to find a song they would have to get up and walk over to the machine and search for it. There is only one machine so if u have a big group, then good luck.
-Temperature was good at first, but it got way too stuffy/hot for me after about 2hrs.
-They dont have very many american songs.
-50$/hr + 1 drink minimum purchase + required tip for the crappy drinks.
Bottomline: Im not coming back here ever again. Its pricy, the drinks suck, the song selection sucks, and their song selecting mechanism sucks even more.
I usually like karaoke but this particular location did a poor job of providing the necessary things to make for an enjoyable experience.
I'll hand it to them, they have big spacious rooms, large lcd screens and an agreeable temperature set on the thermostat. But the things that made this experience almost unbearable were:
- The computer monitor touch screen style of entering songs. It actually seems archaic compared to the traditional booklet with remote combination. I think the reason it wasn't functional was that it wasn't organized that well and some of the words were written in another language. Not helpful...
- The one drink minimum. Fine, our friends were able to get over that. But seriously, if you are going to force us to buy a drink, at least make it good! I heard complaints throughout the room regarding the drinks too milky taste.
- The rate of the room was about $50/hour with every person purchasing a drink. What made it horrible was the waitress after accepting our two credit cards (that's the max # of cards they accept) brought to our attention that we had not tipped and left the receipt there expecting one. That's not the type of service that will get you back in the first place buddy.
Looks like I will have to continue trusting good ol' Garden Grove...
It's the nicest KTV in SoCal... only about a year old with 20 rooms! Â They have a wide variety of Chinese songs as well as some newer English songs you wouldn't find in other KTVs. Â Whenever I go there I also look forward to the food and drinks they serve. Â None of that watered down tea stuff you get from other KTVs... Cashbox serves yummy tea drinks like the ones they have at Lollicup. Get their popcorn chicken its the *best*!
Review Source:Wow. This really is the place to go if you want to torture your friends with your bad taste in music and horrible voice. Haha just kidding. What friends?
If you're into Chinese songs, this is the place for you. The selection is amazing; they've got so many songs (Korean, Japanese, English too)! The private rooms are well kept, and the television and audio equipment were very impressive. The microphones are even wireless! Oh, and say goodbye to those old fashioned song books, codes, and remotes. There's a friendly user interface that allows you to choose songs on a computer screen using a mouse now. *thumbs up*
Even more exciting is the happy hour deals they have. If you visit their website, you can see that on certain days you can either get a free drink or even get a free meal to go along with your amateur voice. It's a steal.
I still love this place. Seriously, why go to other places when you've found the best KTV outside of Asia.
Ya, it's a bit far. Ya, it's out in City of Fucking Industry. So what??
I guess the local FOB community don't use Yelp since the place is packed every weekend and I'm the only one that's reviewed Cashbox. It doesn't matter to me, since I speak Fluent English, Mandarin, and passable Espanol. I'm just here to pass on a good place to my fellow Yelp singers that prefer to use their vocal cords in a private room instead of a stage.
Here's the main difference from my previous post: Happy Hour is still $14 from 2-7PM or 3-8PM 7 days a week. However, it's no longer including a free drink in the prices, but it's now 50% off. Good enough for me. Expect to spend about $20 a person when you come here during the HH.
Again, why do I like it here compared to other KTV places around the SGV? (Yes, I've been to a few *shrug*)
- New songs. They have stuff that was just released in TW, HK, and hell, even English songs for all of you non-Chinese singers. Actually, they have A LOT of English songs here, so you can even bring Non-Chinese folks!
- 42" LCD TV with Computer controls to pick songs. You don't have to use those lame ass remotes you'll see at other places around town. I've only seen the Computer set at Holiday and Cashbox KTV in Taipei.
- Good drinks! Ya, the drinks here are actually pretty good compared to the competitors. They also have food too. It's too bad they don't have booze, but I guess you can't have EVERYTHING!
- Friendly staff. If you're used to those RUDE Mainlander staff at other KTVs, just don't bother and come here instead. Us Taiwanese people are much nicer. Ya, I'm racist. Sue me.
- Parking is aplenty. It's in the Home Depot shopping mall, you won't have any issues here.
Now, you ask yourself, "what should I sing?" Fear not friends, here are a few recommendations:

Poor taste in music? *shrug* Maybe I need to listen to more American radio (Don't worry, I know all of the repeat music played on KIIS FM and I'm a big fan of 105.1. Yeehaw!!). Probably too late since I'm assimilated in the FOB culture of San Gabriel.
My advice, go with some girls, make it diverse and fun. It's never fun being in a group of guys at KTV. With that said, I need to find out more about this girl in our group last night with a beautiful, memorable singing voice. Mmmmm.....
Ok so I went to Cashbox Ktv last night to check it out. Â I seriously think this place is overrated. Â First we were pushed to a room that was too big even though they gave us $10 off. Â They claim that was the VIP room and that was the only room left. Â The room goes for $60 an hour and since I only have a party of 6 they said $50 an hour. Â We actually wanted a smaller room considering our party was so small. Â They said the medium room would have been too small for us but we could have waited for the right room size but instead they just pushed us to the vip room. Â This room wasn't all that one of the mic didn't even work. Â Although I must say the songs that they do have are pretty good and hip for english songs. Â Overall this place is over priced!! Â They also enforce a 1 drink min per person. Â For your serious singing people. Â I rather go to the place right behind Phoenix on colimna. Â You can get some serious singing and there is no drink min.
Review Source:Nice new location, though at least a year old now, nice equipment, rooms are good though not as plush as the ones in Taiwan (of course), the walls are too bland, not enough there. Â The old lobby was better too when there was a big screen now the lobby only has two flatscreens and probably no one sings there - but it is a juice bar now so people can hang out.
Since singing is more like a fobby thing, I suspect that's why this is the first review, but if you wanna go KTV this is probably the most upscale place and not much (or any) more expensive than all the other much more run-down/bland KTV's in LA.
