Great place to meet friends. Â Mellow, down to earth and helpful with wine selection for newbies. Â Best beer selection in Kingman. Â They even fought to get my favorite, Humbolt Brown, back through their distributor. Â

Wednesday and Friday taco nights from S'Go Tacos and Thursday pizza nights with Sirens make every night an event. Â The live music adds variety and interest for some folks but I'm definitely more into the people, food and beer.

So disappointing. We read that they were having a Bellydancing and drumming night , We dressed up and drove the 30 miles. NO bellydancers, a taciturn and completely non charismatic male host. Awful. Boring drummers, they were concerned that we were leaving because WE were the entertainment. Well, we had come to join the entertainment, not to be it, and pay to be it . FIRED. We won't be back.

A Â "mom and pop" endeavor, owned and operated by a couple of retired teachers, The Cellar Door offers a good wine list by bottle and glass at reasonable prices and even more good bottle options to purchase in their adjacent bottle sales area.

Friendly service by the owners (Nancy and Scott Rhoades) who made us feel right at home in the funky "all are welcome here" vibe. Â Customers taking in the music and the libations ran the gamat from 20 somethings to seniors with folks in pairs, in groups and as singles. Â You sense this is a "locals favorite" place.

Lots of inside seating options at regular height tables (woohoo...I struggle with bar height seating these days due to MS), bar height tables and a sofa and a couple of easy chairs. Â Outside tables and chairs on the patio were full on the evening we were there, which is no suprise given the fabulous September weather.

But we wanted to be inside so we could hear the music. Â Musicians constantly change; on the night of our visit a Â jazz musician playing old standards and some of his original work and whose dad, also a musician, had rubbed elbows with the likes of the great Coltrane.

Food is limited to things like mixed cheese, fruit and nut plates. Except on Thursdays when you can order pizza they pick pick up and bring in from a local pizza place. We were there on a Thursday, but had eaten dinner elsehwere. Â Next time, we'd opt for pizza here if coming to town on a Thursday night because it looked tasty.

We stayed a couple of hours sipping a bottle of domestic sparking wine, nibbling on a cheese plate as dessert, and listening to the music. Â We hated to leave. If this was in our neighborhood, we'd be regulars.

THIS N THAT:

1) PARKING & ACCESS: This is located in downtown Kingman and parking is on street and can be scarce. Also note for Yeeps and other peeps who rely on Accessible (aka ADA) parkng, we found nary a sign of it in downtown Kingman, which overall tends to be pretty inaccessible. Â Sadly. Â But The Cellar Door itself is level in and throughout. Â Happily.

2)BREWSKI TOO: Â If you're a beer drinker, you are in luck here too. There was a good sized beer list, including several from Deschutes Brewery in my home city. (Everything is connected.)

I love this place. Â I have met many of people that have become close friends here including the owners. Â They also feature many local musicians. Â Great wine, great food and great company. Â Don't forget to come in on a Thursday for Pizza Night.

Excellent selection of reasonably priced craft beers and wine. The owners (retired teachers!) were very welcoming and a great source of information about the local area.

For this city boy The Cellar Door made me feel right at home. Their wine selection is great, food is top notch, ambiance is relaxing and social but most of all I enjoyed the wonderful regulars and staff. If I were staying any longer here in Kingman I would make sure to spend every night here. It's great fun.
