Upscale sports bar with above average food. A bit of everything on the menu. You can find all the games on TV that you are looking for. Excellent burgers and wraps. Can't go wrong with Champps for a good cocktail or a cold beer. Head to the bar and see Jeremy. He will take care of anything you might need, and always has a good idea for a new drink.
Review Source:Champps is a step above the regular Lansing cuisine and offers and exceptional menu, almost too much, to the point where its sometimes difficult to know what to order. I've gotten a few of the dinner salads, the BBQ cheddar chicken and the soups, all of which were great!. The prices here are a bit steep for the area but not within reason, On busy days, it doesn't hurt to call and make reservations!
Review Source:I'm not going to do my typical review, mostly because this is a chain joint, but even more so because I'm feeling lazy. Â
I've had fond memories of this place, believe it or not. Â For a while, they were doing karaoke out here, and a friend and I won $50 each (not bar bucks, straight cash) for performing. Â Most recently I was here with my fam partaking in their 1/2 price burgers (every monday).
I would say this place is a step above a sports bar (like a BW3) in terms of food and cleanliness. Â I wouldnt' say this was a gastropub by any means, but some where in between. Â The menu reads like it were a bennigans or chillis- apps, entrees, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Â Nothing that really jumps out at you, but the food is pretty good for what it is.
This place is decked out with tvs , playing all major sports channels, and premium sports channels, so if you're looking for a place to catch a game and a meal, while not being burdened by too much smoke, this might be your joint.

While the food at Champps is far from exceptional, their menu flexibility is. For a chain restaurant to provide a vegetarian burger option, and note their flexibility for substituting it for meat anywhere on the menu, is a rare find. I ordered a veggie burger and was happy to see that it was cooked perfectly. I've had experiences (*cough Pizza House cough*) where restaurants simply microwave the burgers for non-meat eaters. I found the burger to be a bit overpriced, but they were accommodating, so it's fine.
Review Source:I love Chammps. When I'm in the mood for a hamburger and fries or some delicious sandwiches I come here. You can't go wrong with Chammps as it's got such a variety on the menu and a fabulous drink selection. The decor inside is filled wall-to-wall with TVs broadcasting sports of all kinds. It's got a sports bar feel to it but don't worry if you don't like sports, they usually broadcast one or two nonathletic channels.
This Champps is right up near the movie theatre, Wal-Mart, and a giant outdoor mall. You can stop in here before or after a movie or long day of shopping. You can stop on in for a drink at the bar after a movie. A chill place in a college town.
Hahahaha I have fond memories of the last time I was at Champps...Amanda the Scandal was still in town and we all went to karaoke - couldn't pass this one up, as it was prize karaoke - 1st place winner won $100. Â Amanda brought this guy from Ohio that no one knew, which was interesting. Â He was a random boy from Ohio, definitely a "God and Country" type, so we were wondering, what the hell he was doing with Amanda the Scandal. Â
Anyway, we participate in the karaoke contest, and come to find out, Amanda pays off the judge at the bar! Â She offered the guy a cut if he threw the contest....guess who won the contest? Â All of a sudden there was a "mixup" of who won first prize. Â The judge took it back from the rightful winners and awarded Amanda the prize.....geez.
All in all, the food is classic sports bar food and the drinks are a little on the pricey side, but it's perfect for taking the boys who are visiting from out of town somewhere to watch the game.
