This is the 4 th time we have dined here. The service usually is pretty good and the food above average. Unfortunately that wasn't the case this time. I'm going to spare all the details but the service was slow and the food was way below average. Plus the owner sat at a table across from us and did paperwork and drank beer as his staff fumbled around, Wow.

Stopped here on our way back from Arizona Dodger spring training. This place was so delicious. Such a gem to find in the middle of the desert.

This restaurant is close to our house and we have tried it a couple times, never been too impressed. We gave it one last shot last week and we will not be going back. We sat close to the kitchen and could visibly see the chef in the back eating as he was cooking. Our dinner took so incredibly long to cook and we had our two little kids with us so we asked for everything to go. When we got home and opened up our pizza box the pizza was not sliced. It was awful. We took one bite and didn't  even finish the pizza or the pasta. We won't be going back.

Got take away. Chicken parm was burnt, sauce is ok. Cream of Spinach soup had flavor but way too salty.

I have never eaten here and it's a good thing!!! I drove by and saw an old woman's feet propped up on a table in the patio. Any owner/manager that allows that to happen cannot have high standards for their food. If you get food poisoning, don't say you weren't warned!!

I ordered the stuffed artichoke which was amazing. Steamed perfectly. .I ordered an  Iced coffee that was shit. They should know by now, when you pour hot coffee over ice it tastes like crap. You need to brew and refrigerate...otherwise don't offer iced coffee... One waitress for the whole place, it was lunch time. Decent decor.

One person had the loaded potato soup and loved it, the other person had the meatball sub and thought it was decent.

There was three of us who went last night (memorial day weekend) - the friend who was with us loved their pizza the last time she was there. We sat outside - the waiter informed us to go ahead and that he would be out to service us.  We sat and waited for quite some bit, waiter never came out and when he did he was bringing out food for another table and totally dismissed us. At one point I was waving my arms - yoo hooing the several waitresses that were coming in and out and all of them almost intentionally avoided eye contact or even looking our way. Finally my friend went inside and reminded our original waiter who seated us. He told her that someone will be out or sent out...well guess what....no one again. My friend had to go out a second time to get him out to get some service. When he came out he informed us ...oh it's because you are sitting in a table that was not  bussed? I kindly informed him...no - I was even waving and yoo hooing them for attention. Really?  So service was terrible.

Food: They brought out bread which was STALE! Unbelievable and they supposedly have their own bakery. Don't even want to know what that is like....It tasted like it was over a week old..terrible.

Pizza: Ordered the Mexican Pizza. It is on a think crust and topped with ample toppings especially Jalapenos which we love. It was ok. The ground beef tasted a bit old and smelled a bit funny....

Restrooms: Evidently they do not have a system in place to check for cleaning. It is a modern nice room but there was alot of toilet seat cover paper all over on the floor which left the impression that no one was monitoring to keep the place clean and organized.

Will I come back....more than likely No! Sorry Charli Marrone's - you totally failed.

Overpriced for the food they serve. This is based on their lunch menu. The place was practically empty, but i was craving Italian food. They had only salads and pizza in their lunch menu. I looked at the dinner menu and that the dinner prices were outrageous for the dishes that cost much less in other decent restaurants. This is no high end establishment to charge that kind of money. There is zero decor inside. The owner was there doing his paperwork and not one time did he look at any of the patrons and smile. One of his contractors came in to check on some order and he was outright rude to him!! The extra star is for the server gal there....she was nice.
I am NOT going there again.

This place wasn't bad. The service was good. Ordered a house salad, chicken parm, and spaghetti and meat sauce, with meatballs. Meat sauce and the pasta were great but I would recommend they change their bread-lol.

Been here a number of times. Have given it second, third, fourth chances and now have to quit. Food is mediocre, service is not quite up to snuff and prices are high. Won't be back.

So, I have given this place more than one try. This is actually my fourth visit(for dinner/lunch).
The positives are that it is a clean establishment, and the staff have been friendly.  This is a great place for you of you just want to sit at the bar and have a drink or two and watch the game.  But don't count in anything else.
Now, the issues.  The staff are very undertrained and inattentive(all visits).  For instance, when we asked what they have to drink, she said "Pepsi Products",  when asked which ones those were, she had no idea and didn't want to go find out.  I went my entire meal on the last two visits, with out a refill of water or drinks.  Even after asking, our table never received salt/pepper.
The food is not too bad, but extremely overpriced!  The want to charge a $1.25 for an extra side if Ranch, when their salad comes out nearly dry, and the $1.25 side is about a 2 tablespoons full.  Seems like the owners are cheap and trying to get every penny out of the customers for a product/service bot worth it.  I have it 2 stars only because the place is clean and friendly.

Just ordered take out and was shocked to see the pizzas when I got home.  They were disgusting. They were no way near the size ordered they were soggy and completely stuck to the cardboard.  This is definitely the last time I ever go to this establishment. I should have realized that it had gone down hill when there was not a single customer eating there. Not even worth a single star but have to give it one star or I can't post

This place does not have high enough reviews. I will start off by saying this is one of the only sit-down restaurants that I found in the area. The location is very modern and chic.

Our server was Evan on Dec. 26th. He could not have been any more pleasant and/or attentive than he was. He continuously offered to refill our glasses when our beers got low (we had a pitcher).

On to the food. For less than $20 during happy hour my husband and I got a pitcher of bud light, garlic cheese bread and bruschetta. Both the garlic cheese bread and the bruschetta were not only pretty to look at, but they were the best of each we had ever had. The plates come out looking like works of art, but the portions are not small, which was a relief.

All in all, i would definitely stop back in if I am ever in the area. Check the website for deals and coupons.

Lastly, there was quite a big outdoor patio where but it was too cold and windy to try it out.

As we travel between Phoenix and SoCal, we usually stop here for lunch.  Always very good and we seem to get the same waiter - absolutely a pleasure to have him help us.  He's Very Good.  We've had a pizza, cobb salads and sausage and pepper sandwich among other items - consistently good.

Stopped by while traveling through town! Food was very tasty and service attentive. It was not really busy; we stopped for lunch. I had sausage and pepper calzone; hubby had spaghetti and meatballs. The calzone and spaghetti was excellent, especially liked the meatballs;  although hubby thought the bread would have been better with garlic butter!! Overall good and we'd stop by again if in the area!

Wife and I had dinner in October 2012.
Service was fast and friendly.  We both had salads with our meals,
    Ordered mine with Thousand-Island dressing.
I neglected to specify "no cheese" on mine... big mistake !

Asked the waiter if cheese is included with Linguine and Clams.
His answer: "Some times they add cheese and sometimes not".
Requested "no cheese". (especially with seafood !!!!)
    It was excellent !!!

Wife order Lasagna which she absolutely loved !!!

Prices are pretty high for a Sports Bar and Restaurant.

We were in the North Indio area doing a bit of shopping, and we decided to give this place a try. The plan was to get an early dinner and watch some football in the bar area before heading home. Seemed like a pretty fool-proof plan. The servers get credit for being quite friendly and attentive to our needs....really nice people. They brought our drinks to our high-top and asked if we were ready to order food, and our answer was a resounding "No thank you." Yes, there was a definite change of plans.

Anybody who has worked in a restaurant is familiar with the smells associated with grease build-up and uncleanliness in general. These unmistakable smells are usually noticed near the garbage and grill areas in the kitchen as well as the dumpster out back. These smells are normally isolated to the kitchen area, but that was not the case here. The smell completely permeated the dining area, and the floor in the bar area was absolutely filthy....chunky-style filthy. Yuck!  Another case of the staff getting used to and not noticing foul odors and filth.

We were simply too grossed out to order food at this place, so we finished our drinks, tipped the server for being really cool, and we went and had dinner somewhere else.

Had bruschetta for appetizer, lunch special (choice of 1/2 sandwich-tuna chicken salad, meatball or Italian sausage with onions and peppers, salad and fries) and tiramisu for dessert. Hubs ordered the tuna sandwich and I ordered the Italian sausage.  Everything was really good and portions were perfect. Highly recommend...can't wait to go back for dinner.

The staff here is *Horrible*. I love waiting 15 minutes to get a drink (sarcasm). The inside is small.
It's disappointing that when Indio does attract new businesses, many times, they are not quality establishments.

I don't know where all these people we eating, but the Charli Marrones i was at this afternoon was not very good.  The service, at best, was erratic.  The veal saltimbocca I ordered was tough and basically tasteless.  The deserts came out of the kitchen sporadically.  Half of my group was finished with desert before my Cannoli came out.  The cannoli was among the worst I've ever had.  The filling was not traditional ricotta, it tasted medicinal or chemical.  I could go on, but my recommendation, is definitely skip this place!

Another great meal last night.  The service and food were fantastic.  Hubby got the ribeye and I got the gnocchi with vodka cream sauce and we shared both entrees.    Sometimes the service can be a little slow but everything was perfect last night.

Ok, where to start with this restaurant... Service is slow-ish ,90% of the food is actually great, i recommend the lasagna and the calamari.. so delicious!
As far as anything with the pesto sauce ( in which i found a pretty large piece of plastic) or the bland (almost pound cake consistency) slices of bread that they serve you at the beginning, you're better off skipping those items.

I've been here a couple times, 2 of those times Rudy has been our server, he's such an attentive server, even when he is clearly slammed, maybe other employees in the restaurant  should take notes on his sense of urgency when reaching out to all of his tables.

I was pleased to see that they are having entertainment out on the patio during the week, and open till late on Saturdays, which is awesome since there are no bars in the area, so this would make my 2 minute drive home a plus.

Unfortunately, the band they had this Saturday attempted to do their sound check trough out the evening, so from 8-9pm, instead of enjoying a nice meal in awesome weather, I spent it listening to CHECK! CHECK! , instrument tuning over the amplifier, etc.
This band was unprofessional to say the least.

It didn't really help that the manager, preferred to sit down with friends in the patio, instead of checking on patrons. It was a really nice touch when she stared me down as I'm walking out the restaurant, instead of saying thanks for coming in! or have a good night!.

I will definitely take the $50 - $70 I would normally spend on my bill somewhere else.

Came for a late dinner after a day by the pool.  Service was slow and I think the server was purposely avoiding our table since I kept making eye contact with him. Salads came out right away, but after that we waited about 30 minutes for one pizza and two kids meals.  Usually servers ask if they can expedite the kids' food or just do it automatically.  This was not the case.  When the veggie pizza came, we were so starving that the first bites tasted good, but after eating a second piece I realized that the pizza was a bit greasy, salty, and pretty tasteless.

    I will not return.

My husband & I went there once, it was ok. Service was slow. We thought maybe because it was new.  But we went again with my parents and our children and the  service was very slow again. We waited 2 hours before our food came out of the kitchen, cold!  We told them something about waiting so long, manager just said "Well you got your food now", they did take off 10% from our check, oh well, because the food was costly compared to what you received.  Once we got home, we all got upset stomachs, ever one of us! Will not be back, it's a shame to thought it was going to be a nice restaurant in Indio.

We stopped in here on our way back to Phoenix.  The restaurant was very nicely decorated with just a few people dining in it around lunch time.......it took a while to get waited on and the food was okay.  Not great and not terrible.  Rather pricey for what we got.  I am gluten free and their options were very depressing so I ended up with a tiny piece of chicken grilled with a slice of cheese melted on it and some fries which were pretty good.

My husband got a French dip sandwich which he described as "alright."  The fries were the best part of this visit.  I don't think we'll be back!

If good Italian food is what you are looking for, then I would find an alternative.  If you are looking for a sports bar where you can watch the game but want a change in pace from the standard bar foods, then this is the probably the place to head out to.

Overall, the concept of an Italian bar and grill presents a thematic challenge. You have to decide between down-to-earth, trendy, modern, or traditional.  This conflict is quite apparent here.  The kitchen is also "opened up" so you can see the food being prepared, but rather than creating an airy atmosphere is does the opposite, resulting in a more sterile feel.

Their Italian menu is is not overly ambitious and replete with the familiars - spaghetti, fettuccine, pizza, chicken Marsala, osso bucco, etc. The execution on the other hand, falls short of expectations. The spaghetti came in a sauce that screamed "canned".  I could not find one speck of Italian herbs in it. A hint of garlic, maybe, but devoid of the bouquet that suggests the painstaking time and attention normally paid to it.  Noodles were a bit mushy and not al dente.  I felt that I was eating a deluxe version of Chef Boyardee. I ordered additional sausage for my spaghetti and that proved to be a challenge for the kitchen as well.  IT was so dry and overcooked that I had a hard time swallowing it.

The cheese pizza was probably the highlight of the meal.  A nice thin crust, but again the sauce was a bit listless.

I have noticed that a majority of the other favorable reviews were focused on the bar food items. This normally would not present a problem, but the focus of the restaurant in name, at least, is Italian and thus a bit misleading.  I certainly did not expect cheese fries and wings to be the center of attraction when eating at an Italian Bar and Grill. Not to say that all hope is lost - the dinner menu has a lot of potential.  I think that if the quality of ingredients get better and execution improves, Charlie Marrone's can live up to its billing.

This review is for the bar/cocktail area.
Great spot for happy hour and Monday night football! Excellent service, great drink specials, and comfortable bar seating. Food came out; spot on in temperature, flavor, and price. This place has gone through a few hiccups since they opened, but I think they have come out on top. Blue Cheese Garlic fries are a MUST try!! (Pairs well with a cold Shock-top) We will definitely be back soon!

We went for a rather early dinner (5:30pm), figured with all the old people who live around here it would be ok.  The place was empty, first clue we should have turned around.

Had chicken dish and a salad, pretty simple.  The chicken was warmed up in the microwave, it was rubbery and just warm.  It came out in under 5 minutes.  I would have waited 10 more minutes for you guys to cook one but I suppose pre-cooking dinner and heating it up makes service go faster.

The salad was ok, although it was douched in so much oil it became hard to eat the entire thing.

I noticed the large bar so I was feeling good that I was going to get a good beer.  That feeling changed fast.  Why don't they have any good beers?  The waiter was a bit of a jerk, I had asked what do you have on tap and he just said read the menu.  Fine, I'll have a Sierra Nevada, no, we don't have that, it's replaced by something else.  WTF, why don't you just tell me the 4 shit beers you have on tap?

Loved it! after an amazing trip to palm springs, We had a reservation and as soon as we walked in, the Host knew who we were, we were seated immediately.
the venue is beautiful and staff very friendly, my kids acted like animals but we were still treated nicely.
Food was DELICIOUS, I had a Panini and we orders a pizza and wings, my son had spaghetti. Did not wait long for our food. I felt bad eating it because it looked so pretty. I also loved the decor, they have huge windows all over and Large windows to see your food being made, this place is clean.
The restrooms were clean and beautiful.
They have a bar area and Flat screens, a plus for those of you like my Fiance who got two for one, took me to a nice restaurant and was able to watch the game all at the same time.
    We will come here again!

    Thanks for such superb service!!!

Good food, good wine, fair service.

Waiter forgot our bread, we had to ask three times. waiter also didn't know what the seasonal vegetables were, and we had to ask him to go ask the chef.  Otherwise very attentive, except for the bread.

Food was good, but the sauce on sea bass is super salty, order the salmon instead, it was delicious. All fish was perfectly cooked. Veggies were delicious, not over cooked. Food was excellently plated, perfect portion size. Good value.

    Will come here again!

New Italian Restaurant near my home, great atmosphere, Full Bar and a great menu. My kids enjoyed the then crust pizza and my wife said the filet mignon was perfect, served with freshly made mash potatoes and grilled veg.

Two strikes - bad live music and pizza that tasted like the sole of my shoe - salvaged by a good Cobb salad.

In short, if you like salad (my wife's Chopped salad was also good) this is a good spot (if you also happen to be deaf or there is no bad live music).

If it's pizza you're after, go somewhere else!  The crust, in addition to being burned, was shaped as if it had once been round and then was used by a dog as a frisbee- Uneven thickness and misshapen and had the texture of crisp cardboard. The tomato sauce was unseasoned and somehow the pepperoni had no flavor.

Food was bland and portions were small for the price.  Had the calamari and it was all breading - tasteless.  Veal picatta was just as bland. Veal was tough and chewy.  Looked as though they were trying for the fine dining atmosphere, but they lacked in so many areas. Service was okay but slow and inattentive. Disappointed overall and wont be back.

I visited this restaurant right after they first opened and was very impressed with everything, the staff, the food, the atmosphere.  Went with a bunch of friends for happy hour and had almost all of their appetizers and tried two different kinds of their pizzas.  We were very happy with the quality of food and presentation.

Visited again tonight, not the same story unfortunately.  Calamari wasn't the same quality tonight at all.  Too greasy.  French Onion soup was okay and the pizza was mediocre.  Not the same quality I had at my first visit.  I hope that it was just an off night and not how they consistently serve food now.

The staff is great at this restaurant.  Very attentive to refilling drinks and taking orders/requests.  The live music was a little too loud for my taste.  It made the restaurant feel more like a pub/bar than a restaurant.

My family came across this place on chance. We were staying at a World Mark nearby and looking for a place to eat on Christmas eve. In the past, the times we've been adventurous and tried new places without so much as a Yelp review have been disastrous. We took a risk in coming here and were pleasantly surprised.

They started us off with plenty of warm bread and butter. My mom ordered the Chicken Marsala which had a really nice, subtle sweetness - not as overpowering as teriyaki sauce. My brother ordered the Filet Mignon - I took a bite and wished SO badly I had gotten that instead. It has this great bleu-cheese glaze on the outside that left the filet slightly crunchy on the outside, but still tender on the inside. I can't even remember what I ordered anymore because the filet overshadowed it. SO good.

Great service, and they even had a guy singing throughout the evening, doing covers of various songs with a supersmooth velvety voice. Halfway through the night, the owner Charli got up and started singing "Summer Lovin' " - she has an awesome voice! I think having the musical entertainment and just seeing workers who seemed like they enjoyed their jobs (even when working on Christmas Eve!) really helped set the tone at this place. I'd come back!

I didn't have huge expectations for this place because it's new and I haven't heard anything about it. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty empty. It seemed like they were getting ready for a late crowd because a guy with a guitar was getting set up.

We ordered a house salad to start off with and it was do delicious. The bread was excellent too. I ordered the spaghetti pizza because I just had to try something that random. I was thrown off because the description listed "egg" which didn't sound very good. It seemed like something you would put together with random leftovers in your fridge. However, the egg is just a base to hold everything together. It was so yummy I couldn't stop eating it. Fortunately, I stopped half way through and had leftovers for the next day. My bf had the lasagna which he said was really good too.

Besides the food, the service was excellent. I really felt like we were transported out of north Indio to a fancy restaurant in a far off location.

Since we are staying at The Worldmark Terra Lago, we were looking for somewhere close. We had heard about this place and seen it on the way to the store so we decided this was it. The staff was amazing and service was top notch! It so happen that there was Wednesday specials and the wine and champagne was half off. We ordered a bottle of red wine and champagne which we ended up saving $40 between the 2. For starters we order the bruchetta and artichoke; everyone loved the artichoke! Our party ordered breaded halibut, veal, lasagna and blackened sea bass. All were tasty but my breaded halibut could have been a bit more flavorful and a better quality piece of fish.

The atmosphere was kid friendly and good energy. Being close to where we come every year at this time, this will be one of our go to places.
