I came in on Cinco de Mayo, to say it was packed is an understatement. Â But we were really in the mood for Mexican, so we waited about 25 minutes or so for a table! Â We sat outside of the restaurant where we could hear our table called! Â The time just flew right by.
Once were were seated, we received very warm chips and salsa! Â There were $2 margaritas which we chose to partake in! Â They were awesome! Â We ordered our food, which didn't take very long! Â I was disappointed that they had run out of guacamole by the time we were dining, but I didn't let that spoil my experience!
The food was consistently good and the service was good as well! Â It was extremely crowded, but that didn't stop our server from providing us with very good service!
Sad that I even have to give this a star because it doesn't deserve one...I have got to say something about the visit my boyfriend had at the above location on Saturday afternoon (5/25/13)..I have never in my life had such bad food. Â Let me start by saying years ago I used to frequent the Chevy's in Annapolis MD and the food was good. Â This past Saturday my boyfriend and I had plans to stop and eat before heading to the Washington Nationals baseball game. Â We had originally gone to Cheddars but they had a 2 hour wait..(unfortunate for us) so we saw the Chevys and even though we had been told by a friend the food was terrible, we went anyway..Their was very few people in the restaurant. Â The first thing I noticed was the very limited menu. Â Not much of a selection at all. Â Not even an alternate area for people dining that don't see any "Mexican" entrees they like, a burger or chicken sandwhich isn't even offered..For starters the Queso Cheese dip was nothing more than lukewarm Velveeta Cheese with some salsa mixed in. Â The dip started to clump not even 5 minutes after we got it because it wasn't even hot. Â The food came out and the only thing we both liked was the corn bread lump whatever that was. Â My vegetarian enchiladas had potatoes in them..I have never in my life seen potatoes in an enchilada, and needless to say they were not good at all. I took 3 bites of them and left the rest. Â No flavor whatsoever which was the standard for the rest of the food. Â The rice my boyfriend and I agreed was tasteless, the beans tasted exactly like a packet of taco seasoning you would get at the grocery store. Â Now my boyfriend works at a Mexican restaurant in Va and let me tell you, Chevys was put to an absolute shame if the food we got is considered Mexican cuisine. Â I guess I've been spoiled by eating at his resaturant. Â If we would have had more time (since our waitress kept screwing up the payment on our check) we would have had some serious complaints for management but we had a game to go to. Â Odd considering both of our plates were pretty much full and hardly touched that the waitress said nothing about that, didn't ask if there was a problem or anything..So for now I'll just say we should have listened to friends about staying away from this Chevys...I sure hope you all can get some better people in that kitchen or you'll not be in business very long. Â Maybe take a peek at some of the other Mexican places around for menu options, such a disappointment. What a shame..
