I hope to make this as entertaining and informative as possible. Â And, what better way to convey both than to tell stories. Â So, without further ado, I present "Chili's: Sighhh"
I've lived in this area for all my life and this Chili's has been her for most of that. Â I do remember a time when they really weren't that bad. Â They were a new restaurant competing with the neighboring likes of Applebees and O'Charley's. Â They seemed to care about the quality of job they did. Â Nowadays... not so much.
Every time I remember going to this Chili's over the past three years has been mediocre AT BEST. Â The one mediocre time, I ended up getting a really good waitress (she doesn't work there anymore, probably moved on to a place with standards) but the food was just not right. Â The food (all of it) was undercooked and poorly put together. Â (This was closer to the three year limit I am going to be including, but I figured I'd mention it because the place has only gotten worse.)
About six to seven months later, I went back hoping for a change. Â We (a couple friends and I) walked in the door, Chili's welcomed us in quickly and took us to a table in good time. Â Everything is looking alright up to this point. Â The hostess told us our waiter would be with us shortly. ................... so anyways, twenty minutes later my friends and I realized, "Ummmmmmm, where is the waitress?" (my friends and I had been catching up with each other since one of them just got back from a month-long trip to Lebanon for some vacation. Â Just wanted to include this to explain how we'd missed the twenty minutes absence of the waiter). Â Anyways, they completely forgot about us apparently. Â Or someone was late to work. Â Or someone forgot to mention we were there. Â SOMETHING SOMEWHERE didn't go as it was supposed to. Â I vote to just leave, so we all get up and start walking out the door.
As we are getting to the door the hostess notices us leaving and says, "Oh have you guys not been seen yet?  Hang on one second I'll go get you guys set up."  To which we respond, "Really?  That won't be necessary, you guys should really get your s*** together because this is ridiculous," and walked out the door to go to the O'Charley's next door (literally across the parking lot and I have to say they were very good that day.)
So about a year later I went back to Chili's, I guess out of some naive hope that they'll do better (I've always had a soft spot for their queso, I don't know why). Â As before, the host saw to us quickly and got us a table. Â Unlike last time, the waiter showed up and took our drink orders. Â Looking better this time at least. Â But, all fell apart again when the waiter never showed back up after taking our orders (took our orders after handing us our drinks). Â After twenty minutes we finally saw him walking around and I was able to flag him down to get him to bring out refills and our appetizer, which was cold at this point so we sent it back and told him not to bring another (so sad, I really do like queso dip). Â The food showed up another fifteen minutes later and was not cooked well and everything had the structure of such that just fell apart when you tried to pick it up (not a good thing).
Maybe I'll go back in another couple years to give it another shot. Â But as it stands now... I'd rather go anywhere but here for dinner. Â The food is overpriced for what you're getting as it is. Â Don't give me a half-ass done overpriced piece of food. Â That's good, hard-earned money that I worked for. Â Until this Chili's restructures and organizes and operates in a way that makes me feel they appreciate the fact that I am there, it'll just be another tremendous let down.
Too bad the lowest I can go is one star.
Twenty-five minutes for appetizers is unacceptable. Â
We were greeted promptly (which was a welcome change for this Chili's). Â Our friendly waitress came to the able right away and took the drink order. Â When she brought the beverages we ordered appetizers. Â We were making a meal out the Triple Dipper Combo. Â After 20 minutes our waitress asked if she could bring us anything. Â "Our food would be nice." Â Another five minutes and she brought us the appetizers... which had clearly been sitting for a while because they were lukewarm. Â We've had bad service at this Chili's before. Â Will probably just go next door from now on.
The fiance and I always go to this Chili's. Tonight was a MAJOR let down. We do not plan to return to this location again. First off, the host was terrible. We asked to sit in the bar section, like we always do, and told we couldn't cause the tables weren't cleared. Took 20 mins just for our waitress to show up, and even then she didn't know if we were her table or not. The managers excuse was a party of 60 was in the resturant and had to take care of them. Customer service is not in their vocabulary ... wouldnt recommend this to my ex-wife.
