Stopped here on the way back from a tough day of hiking in Zion and had a hearty meal.

Impressed by the great service and cheap price ($10 on this day).

The spread was good, especially for dessert.

I lived in La Verkin for 3 months and so when I discovered this China Buffet, I was excited to try it. I was actually so surprised how authentic it is. It's owned by a Chinese family and they all help around in the restaurant. They're very nice and kind. The food is fresh and warm...and really good. I honestly think they have the best egg drop soup I've ever tried, and I am a soup lover. The prices are very cheap and reasonable too. Every time I'm in the area, I definitely have to come here to eat. And you guys too!

It wasn't horrible, but I've definitely had better.  Just "something missing" or "not quite right."  There was a general "fake" taste to everything.  Even the frozen yogurt wasn't quite right.  It was supposed to be chocolate and vanilla, and yet it tasted like strawberry.  Also, we went in at 9 p.m.  There was not much left, and it was luke warm.  I doubt I would return.

My friend and I checked into a nearby motel well after dark. Went on Yelp to find some dinner. This place was closest--and open--that is, for another 10 minutes! But we figured buffet, quick in and out, no problem.

Well, turns out there was a problem. Me. I have a pretty major sensitivity to MSG, the go-to "flavor enhancer" of Chinese restaurants. My first sign that this was a good place was that the guy helping us actually admitted that there was "a little bit" of MSG in pretty much everything. I've had lots of places say they don't use it at all only to find that I have the weird bad not quite psychedelic high/headache for several hours afterwards. So I was ready to leave. Then he said "I'll cook for you. What do you want?"

Really? At now three minutes to closing? You're going to whip up something special even though there's a whole buffet out here?

He did. It was great. I am now a fan of China Buffet.

I stop there after a whole day of hiking. It was almost 9pm (they close at 9.30)
There were just few people in there but they still were bringing fresh and hot food
Unbelievable in most (most? every!!!) Chinese buffets I know!
5 stars! (-1 star for poor salads selection)

FOR WHATEVER REASON, 'PANDA BUFFET' WAS RE-NAMED CHINA BUFFET EARLY THIS YEAR!

I'm somewhat of a local, passing thru Hurricane a couple times on an average week, and over the past year I have stopped off at China Buffet about 7 times, always for lunch and arriving anywhere from about 1 - 3:30PM.

There's a lot of seating inside & I've never had to wait, as the place has never been crowded when I've been there.

Service has always been great --  I've always been greeted & seated promptly, with a drink brought out & re-filled fast, dirty plates taken away quickly, etc.

As for the food, they do have a regular menu, but I have always just had the buffet, because I usually don't eat until I'm extremely hungry & thus want lots of food, quickly!

I am a vegetarian, so probably about 75% of the buffet entrees I cannot eat, however I am very thankful for the remaining 25% that I can, and that 25% is a pretty good variety that gets the job done easily.   I do wish they would have better labeling to explain what is what though, as there are occasionally some buffet items either not marked, incorrectly marked, or marked poorly (English is clearly the second language of restaurant staff...) so I have to study & or even dissect certain items to determine whether or not they have meat/poultry/fish in them.

The quality is pretty good for a buffet, and anyone planning to go there, or review the place should keep in mind that it is a buffet, not fine-dining with items cooked to order moments after you ordered them.    Keeping that perspective in mind, the place gets 4 stars from me.  I've never seen or tasted anything that looks like it has sat out for too long.   The buffet includes a selection of cut fruit like melons, and it has always looked to be fresh each time I've gone there.   Decent dessert selection as well!

There is one other Chinese place in Hurricane, just about half a mile down the main drag (State Street).  I really need to try it one of these days, but I'm so content with China Buffet that it's hard for me to risk trying a the other Chinese restaurant in the area.

The name change from Panda Buffet to China Buffet. New owners. The food is sickening and the worst I tasted but will not taste again in a long time. The new owners are personable but a little on the vigilant side, for there was not one time that we approached the buffet area and they were not there. Checking, I suppose, how much do you put in your plate? The food was as bad as can be expected from a mediocre place. Overly sweet, greasy and not one dish worth remembering. I have come to the realization that for some reason the Hurricane area does not encourage above average dining places to set roots in the community. Only the dropouts from the big cities seem to open shop here. I lived here over 10 years and have yet to appreciate one decent place to eat besides your fast food chains found in just about any city in america. The server was very nice so for attention they get high marks but as soon as we tried the food we knew we should have stayed at home and save our money eating better in the process. I am sure one or two or even three will always eat at this place but this China Buffet does not do food as well as Panda Buffet and Panda's was not the greatest. My kid remarked that it is very hard to find chinese buffets that are top quality and come to think of it, he is right. But trying to budget their food (while circling around every time a client approaches the buffet like they are going to put all the food inside a bag and take it home) is no excuse for lack of culinary skills. I have given up on trying to find a decent chinese restaurant. For that I must travel long and far. In ten years not one decent place to eat is too much and I know what they would say: "If you don't like it why don't you go somewhere else?" and you know what? That is exactly the solution for this city does not bring the best eateries and if they ever show up chances are they would pack their tents and go back where they came from. 1 Star for the food. 10 Stars for the personality and service.

Was coming back from Zions and decided to give Panda Buffet a try, since it was right next to my motel.  I went in not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised.  All the food was quite good.  Everything was pretty fresh and tasty.  Fish was a bit fishy, but that's the only negative.

The kicker was that dinner was only $9 (10% off that day).  Considering the alternatives in Hurricane, or lack thereof, I recommend a visit to Panda Buffet.

Come here hungry to take full advantage of the wide selection of buffet items.  Everything I had was good.  Even the egg drop soup, which lots of Chinese places just seem to get wrong.

Don't expect an authentic Chinese experience, though.  Remember that you're in a tiny town in Utah, and just love the fact that this is something a little different.

In fact, this is probably a great place to experiment with Asian foods if you're not familiar with the cuisines.  They serve some Japanese and Thai foods (despite the restaurant's name) and several familiar American foods -- enough options that everyone leaves happy

After touring the national parks we were starving and buffet sounded great.  Food is average, but for the area your choices are limited.  If you want lots of choices and are really hungry, this is the place for you. $7 at lunch and $10 at dinner.

During our trip to Vegas, we took a detour trip to the BEAUTIFUL Zion National Park. Coming back from Zion to the freeway is a little podonk town of Hurricane. When I say podonk, I mean there is nothing exciting here except what's off State St (their main road). We weren't going to eat anything here because the GPS said there was nothing here except Chinese. But then we passed by this place and did a 180. We were hungry and it was late and this place was open. Thank goodness it was! Let me tell you, it has got to be the BEST Chinese Buffet I think I've had in forever. Everything tasted really fresh, including the rice. Everything was clean and it was affordable. Go figure, you're in the middle of nowhere and have the best chinese buffet. I highly recommend this place to anyone passing on by to Zion or anyone who lives in Utah. I don't know how many yelpers there are in Utah, but you've got a great place here in Hurricane.
