China Garden Restaurant

Although I've only ordered takeout and haven't had a chance to sit down for lunch/dinner, the food is AMAZING!! Great prices, big portions, and very very friendly staff. Highly recommended, definitely one of the best places to eat in Livingston.

I ordered:  hot and sour soup, followed by honey walnut shrimp with steamed rice.
The hot and sour soup was just right, with a nice touch of a couple crispy won ton strips on top.
The shrimp was very flavorful, and coated with just the right amount of sauce, and not at all greasy.
The rice was also nice and fluffy.

The restaurant itself looks very clean and well-kept.  You can see by the pictures that they changed the seating completely, and the restaurant feels bigger than it used to with the new decor.

I only take off one star because I haven't tried all the options in the area, but I have eaten in a lot of Chinese restaurants in San Jose, and find this is just as good as any of those places -- at least in terms of the items I've tried.

We went here last night after a recommendation from a friend. This replaced the Waffle Palace that we used to go to breakfast to. My in laws live near here and there aren't many good Chinese restaurants. Well, now there is. It's Szechuan style, so a little spicy, but good flavors on the different dishes.

We ordered the Triple Mongolian, which was the best dish, the Seafood Combo, which was not overcooked like at many restaurants, and the Honey Walnut Shrimp, which was as good as many Bay Area restaurants.

I would definitely go here again and tell my brother and sister in laws about this place. The people were friendly and the place was clean and the prices were reasonable.
