Chiu Fei Chinese Restaurant

I've never been in a darker restaurant that wasn't a night club.  The darkness of the atmosphere lends to a feeling of dinginess throughout.  I'm not sure if it's actually dirty there, or if it just feels that way because of the lack of light.  Service is okay, but it always seems as though the servers are  sad...very few smiles to be found.  The buffet is fine....the salad bar is blah and boring - nothing special to be found there at all.  The selection of entrees on the buffet is typical and okay.  Everything tastes as expected, but nothing is really outstanding, and in fact is often just okay.  The crab rangoon is good - and part of the reason I've gone in the past. The General Tsos used to be a delight but the last few times I visited it was overdone and rubbery.  The desserts from the buffet all taste like they come from a box that has been sitting on a shelf for over a year. Not appealing. After our last visit we decided we wouldn't be back.  

Side note:  Take out fare is much fresher and does tend to taste a bit better than the items on the buffet.

Greasy food, most of it deep fried. Add a star for the hibachi which is woefully under-used by the natives. Cheap food, cheap price. Buy extra toilet paper for the aftermath.
