Chop Stix is mainly for Chinese takeout.   There are 2 or 3 tables where you can eat.  I frequent this restaurant often.  Tonight, the shrimp with garlic sauce was especially good and the right amount of spicy.  If you are looking for table service this is not your place, but if you are looking for fantastic takeout this is your place in this neighborhood.

We've been looking for a new Chinese Place since Mill House Panda closed. This is not it. Even for take out Chinese this is below par, and that was before my daughter cut into her almost raw sesame chicken. That dish ended up in the trash, as did most of the other dishes that no one really cared for.

Chop Stix is a casual Chinese takeout place located in a strip mall at the Route 55 & 82 intersection, just east of the Taconic State Pkwy. The place is order at the counter with open kitchen and a few tables for eating in. There are back issues of People magazine to read here.

The menu here is the standard Chinese dishes including Hunan and Szechuan dishes and Chef's Specialties. The prices here seem reasonable, most items under $10. 36 Lunch Specials ($4.50-$5.25 until 3PM) served with pork fried rice are offered. 27 Combination Plates ($7.25-$7.75) served with pork fried rice & egg roll are offered too.

On my way back north, I made a food pitstop at Chop Stix recently for dinner takeout. I ordered the C16 Hot & Spicy Shrimp ($7.50 plus tax) with pork fried rice and egg roll. The food was ready to go in under 10 minutes. The portion size was good, hot food served in rectangular plastic microwaveable container. The main dish had plenty of small shrimp (cleaned), mixed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, onions, baby corn) in a red sweet and spicy sauce. The pork fried rice (yellow) had a soft texture with roast pork pieces and onions. The egg roll was firm outside (not too greasy) filled with shredded cabbage and ground pork.

Overall, I expected some good and fresh Chinese food served quickly at a fair price and that's what I received here!
