Church street deli has great food but is for certain on the pricy side compared to other sandwich shops. There are a few waitresses that have bad attitudes, the establisent seems to have bad managment. The cook seems to have conflict with many of the waitresses. If you have a conflict with a person it does not need to be handled in front of customers. We were there a month or so ago and we saw the cook yell at one of the waitresses, it made us very uncomfortable as customers. With the kitchen being opened the staff needs to remember what goes on everyone can see. The whole 20.00 minimum on cards is ridiculous because me and my husband, like others, barely ever carry cash. I think 27 dollars for two sandwiches and two drinks is crazy, although it is very good. One major complaint we have is that every time we come in we have specials and desserts pushed on us. Being asked by 4 people if we want desert is crazy! Its also called a lack of communication. And then if you dont get one it is like the waitresses attitude changes towards you! This place is a beautiful little place but the way the managment is portrayed is very poor.
Review Source:Church Street Deli is one of my favorite places to eat! They have unique sandwiches, wraps and big Boars Head hotdogs. The shrimp salad is really good and it's made with fresh shrimp. I really enjoy their daily specials. I usually finish my meal with one their amazing deserts. I usually get the warm bread pudding with ice cream and whip cream. Marty the owner is a great guy and the rest of his staff are really friendly.
Review Source:Good sandwich joint, but expect to spend $8-12 per person for a basic sandwich and drink. Â They have a credit card rule (i.e. you have to spend a certain dollar amount to use it) that would be nice if they told you ahead of time instead of the older waitress being a snot about it; but faced with no payment or taking your card they will take the card. Â We sat on the deck, and really enjoyed ourselves. Â The waitress took care of us without being too overly aggressive; I can only assume they expect you to sit and enjoy the food and atmosphere so they don't rush you.
Review Source:Hubs and I go here everytime we are in Swansboro/Emerald Isle. It really is a sweet ass pub, perfect place to feel away from the norm and humdrum. The place is crawling with all things Irish and truly feels like a dark pub in Ireland, which is a good thing!
I have to say, the beer is awesome! The pub is super cool, especially when there is some Irish live, music or an acoustic band. It is always a good place to catch a game but not my cup of tea for food, although hubs loves their food. They have loads of sandwiches, Boars Head meats and hot dogs, all made in a unique way. It just seems like traditional bar food to me, nothing special but I do LOVE the bar!
Great country sandwich place which features localized, eclectic favorite sandwiches of local patrons. Â All are prepared with Boar's Head. Â The diner also has ice cream, mocha smoothies, coffee and deserts. Â There is also a pub next door that looks pretty nice.
I really liked Bob's Special. Â Grilled roast beef, 1000 island dressing and cole slaw on an onion bun. Â I also tried the Belgian Chocolate cheesecake which was incredible, thick and filling.
Ok - moving on. Â The cost. Â Ridiculous. Â Kind of a small samich = $9! Â A little on the crazy side.
Another group drove all the way up from Wilmington to get the shrimp wrap. Â Very good too. Â I think it was made with curry. Â Obviously a popular place, but would keep for special occasions due to price.
