The Cider Street Cafe is a welcome addition to the culinary landscape of Central New York. We have all become accustomed to spending too much money for bland, poorly prepared food with occasional pretensions to sophistication.
The Cider Street Cafe offers good, straightforward American Comfort Food. The ingredients are fresh and the preparations are delicious. The meatloaf sandwich is excellent. The mushroom gravy was flavorful and complements the meatloaf well. The crispy garlic and herb french fries were crisp and mouth-wateringly delicious. The baked mac-n-cheese is the best I've tried in the area. The menu offers a number of options that should appeal to most diners.
The dining room is nicely appointed in warm woods, comfortable booths, and an old-school soda-fountain bar.
Finally, Rick, the proprietor, is wonderful. He's kind, gracious, and knowledgable about food.
If you live anywhere in Madison County, The Cider Street Cafe is worth a stop.
