What you first notice about the Landmark is the building. It was originally supposed to be a full octagon, but the owner couldn't fit the complete building on the original lot. So he did four sides, facing the intersection. It's a beautiful old stone building and very unique. The interior is beautifully maintained and historic.
We used to meet a bunch of friends here before Christmas each year and they were always accommodating. We always averaged about 20 people. Recently we only go when we're looking for antiques. Meaning, we only go for lunch. The menu is well intentioned with few offerings. I usually get french onion soup and whatever steak sandwich they're offering. I've never had a problem with the food and always found it well prepared.
They're gluten friendly, by the way. My wife never has trouble selecting a meal and the kitchen is always accommodating. They've even changed ingredients for her when a base ingredient in a sauce was wheat flour.
The service is always fast and friendly, never pretentious. It's something to see on route 20 and I highly recommend a stop here for lunch of dinner at least once, if for nothing else than to admire the beauty of the building.
Full bar service too. They make a mean Manhattan.
