I have found it a good place for breakfast and lunch. For the BarBeCue I have had good and bad but I have enjoyed the footlong hotdogs the best. The waitresses are all ways friendly and keep your beverage filled. The one thing that bothers me and it might be just me but when I am there I feel rushed as if they need my table as soon as possible. I will go there when I am in Mocksville.
Review Source:Tried a chopped sandwich here today, and it is pretty good Lexington style  BBQ - not up to that at most of the top Lexington BBQ joints, but good. The meat is moist, tender, a small amount of smoke taste, and not to finely chopped. They give you additional sauce with the sandwich, but it is not needed. This is not destination BBQ - drive by at best.
Also tried a chili dog, but took only a bite or two - chili is thin and sweet - no zip to it. Supposedly the BBQ Chicken is pretty good here - and I'll give it a try next time by.
So I was in NC on business and found myself bound to try Lexington Barbeque. I went there & I thought it was good...not great...but good. So on the way home I needed one more BBQ sandwich to ensure a good night sleep and came across CJ's on my way back to the hotel.
I just ordered a BBQ sandwich...but I thought it was better than Lexington.
Here are my reasons why....
1) the pork had a much better smoke taste to it
2) the pork wasn't chopped into a thick mush & had a couple of good sized chunks in it as well as a bit of "bark" here & there
3) attitude...the people at CJ's were happy to see you & greeted me with a very nice smile when I walked in the door even thought it was 15 minutes before the closed. Although the guy that waited on me at Lexington was more than pleasant...the woman at the register was almost irritated with me that I needed a receipt.
In summary....go to Lexington so that you can say that you've been there...but head over to CJ's for a really great chopped BBQ sandwich.
