Food is good. Service is rubbish. A couple friends and I came in for drinks and dinner after work one time, and while the food was delicious, it took nearly an hour to get it, even with only two other groups in the whole restaurant. One of my friends ordered a second beer, and it never came.

I have been here several other times with family and friends, and while the food is always tasty, the service seems to be below par no matter how many people are in the restaurant.

I had the most disappointing meal here. I ordered the tequila lime chicken and overall, it was just bad. The chicken was dry with chewy tendon bits and served with rice. The whole dish was just sad and tasted that way too. I don't know what the other menu items are like but they should take this one off of the menu. Bread was also served to us. You know, the bread that they serve or used to serve in school lunches? This was it. Other than bringing back memories of how I used to hallow out the bread sticks and stuff it with the school spaghetti before eating it that was the only enjoyable thing here. That is not good!

If your hungry you can probably find something to eat... A lot of items are buttered up so this is not for the faint of heart. Had mix drinks messed up a few times here. Sometimes the service can be a little slow even when no one else is in there.

There aren't a lot of restaurant options in Locust Grove, and none that are great so was really hoping this would break the mold. It didn't. Food was pretty mediocre. Nothing bad but very bland and uninspired. Service was excellent and layout was fine. All in all, not bad but not something I would go out of my way to go to.

I stopped in here on a Fri evening after playing a round of golf.

There really isn't much in Locust Grove and this is one of the few
    localy owned places.

I had the bacon chedder burger, it was big and quite good.
You get a choice of sides and I opted for the corn on the cob.
It was very fresh and tasty.

Ben had the grilled chicken sandwich, he said it was really good.
The sweet tea was very good, not too sweet...just right.

Alexandria was very nice and helpful, she brought us beverage refills on the spot.

Went here with my family to celebrate my mothers birthday.  While it was an ok establishment, I don't think I would venture here often- I just wasn't impressed.

The venue- clean and decent layout, but it was a bit warm in there (it has been crazy hot recently so I can understand if AC was trying its hardest to keep the place cool).

The food- mediocre. For starters we had crab and spinach dip which seemed to be a hit (I cant vouch as I had none, but everyone loved them both). For entrees I had a chicken salad, sister has chicken/broccoli pasta, mom and BIL had a steak.  Everyone liked their dishes, but they also didn't seem too impressed.  Just meh.

Service- we had great service.  Our waiter was fun and interacted with my pre-teen niece and nephew, and let them sing happy birthday to their grandmother on the stage with a mic.  He was also attentive, quick, and very pleasant.

Overall its an ok place if you want standard American grill fare and don't want to travel far.

Bland menu, frozen food cooked to imperfection, with a side of extra grease. Decor couldn't have been more unappetizing if you planned it, almost depressing. The bright spot is the hometown friendly waiters, they are ALWAYS kind & polite & that prevents me from complaining too much. Only eat there because in this retirement community there is only a few places to go.

We've been dining here for the past few years and have always gotten a decent meal. Sometimes the service is a little spotty, but the restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. I recommend the crab dip and the ribs with their Bourbon Bbq sauce.

I've been here before with my parents and grandparents...and I've always enjoyed myself as they have pretty good food (3 out of 5 stars) and normally terrific service.  Anyways, I go there for the first time by myself and I sit at the bar to get a drink.  A simple Jack and Coke...bartender asks me for my ID which is fine.  I turn away to check out the TV and when I look back there is no drink and the bartender is gone.  So I wait...and wait...and finally she comes back with the manager and I have to show her my ID.  Alright, so I look a little young and this is Virginia and I have a New York state ID, so I was patient and understanding of the situation.  Then the manager says, sorry your ID is too flimsy, it looks like a fake we can't serve you.  At this point, I'm a little pissed but whatever, nothing I can do about it.  I get a steak and shrimp combo which was decent (again 3 out of 5 stars, if I had that Jack and Coke it could have been 4 out of 5).

So this grill is pretty much the closest bar that I know of to where I'm staying without having to drive a good 20 minutes.  So I ask the manager politely what I would need to show her, or what ID do I need in order for me to get a drink here.  She mockingly replies that I would have to show her my birth certificate.  At that point, I was pissed because she openly mocked and insulted me so I paid my bill with a crap tip because this has been the worst experience I've ever had to deal with in a restaurant.  I would take long lines, incompetent waiters, and cold food over this.  I was honestly embarrassed as other people were at the bar while this was going on and obviously overheard everything.  Clearly...Virginia is not south enough for southern hospitality to kick in, they need to take some notes from Georgia.

Oh for the record, it wasn't a fake.  I'm 23 who just graduated from college in Georgia after growing up New York (hence the ID) and currently working an internship here in Virginia.

I will definitely not eat there again.
