I know there are a few of these places around the NE Ohio area, but I have never tried it out. It ended up being a nice "sports bar" find for somewhere new in the Wadsworth area. Â Watched some college football and had a cold beer. The loaded (cheese and bacon) homemade potato chips where excellent. The special bacon dip on the side was great too, although our waitress didn't bring that to the table until the potato chips were half gone. I had heard the wings were the best in the area, so I ordered the 8 wings (Erie dry rub) and pretzel nugget combo. While the wings were very good, I can't say that I would rave about them. The pretzel nuggets were pretty darn good too - they almost seemed to have a donut-y sort of flavor to them. Overall, this place was A-OK and I'd definitely go back to watch some sports and grab some good pub food.
Review Source:Cleats' wings are some of the best I've had in a long while. Buffalo Wild Wings and Winkin' Lizard's wings are sub-par compared to Cleats'. Please try the Erie Smoke and Hot Garlic Parmesan. Also, they do have a nice Happy Hour from 11-7 where Tall Draft Beers are $2 or $2.50. This place has been a very nice find after moving to Wadsworth.
Review Source:Wings and ribs. Â I think they should have their own food group, especially when they come from Cleats. Â
Hubby and I have been here several times now, usually with the same two friends, usually on 'wing night,' and we usually order the same thing. Â We change up the sauce with the wings (my favorites are the 'samurai' and 'kentucky bourbon') and occasionally get the onion rings or the loaded potato skin chips with their homemade bacon ranch sauce. Â
But, the highlight is always the wings & ribs.
So, if your arteries are screaming to be clogged, do it the right way! Â And ask to be seated in Jaime's section. Â She is super cute, super efficient and she remembers everything!
This place has the best wings around, hands down! Quite possibly the best wings I have ever had......that said I grew up near Buffalo, NY where wings were born, so those words coming from this mouth means they have to be something really special.  They have this wing sampler platter that comes with 30 wings and a pile of hand cut fries, homemade chips or onion rings!  You can pick up to  5 different sauces on your platter and they have 21 or so different sauces to choose from with different levels of heat, both wet and dry rubs! My favorite is the Erie island smoke rub ..........holy deliciousness!  They also have cheap draft beers and many other good things on the menu!  If your in the area stop in and indulge in wing heaven!  You won't be disappointed!
The decor is a little outdated but the food is good!
My wife and I found Cleat's while motorcycling the area around Wadsworth, OH. I ordered the Texas Hold 'Em burger and she had the Italian Sausage sandwich. We split six Erie Smoke wings. She had a side of fries and I had the homemade potato chips. Overall the meal was great and we'll definitely be back.
First off, my burger was amazing and tasted like a home-grilled half-pounder. I imagine the seven or eight other burger variations (all also half-pounders) are just as good. The chips were plentiful and very tasty. They were similar to other bar chips I've tried but thinner than most. I think thinner chips avoids the occasional chewy chip you might otherwise encounter.
My wife's sausage sandwich, while not bad, was just so-so. Her disappointment was from expecting a split sausage sandwich while getting something more resembling a sausage patty. Still, though, it was flavorful just not "amazing." The fries were fresh cut, skin-on and really good with vinegar and ketchup.
The portions were really large and we could have easily split a single order. The prices were very, very reasonable considering the exceptional food so a split meal would make this place a definite stop.
They have close to twenty wing flavor--some sauce and some dry rubs. The Erie wings were recommeded by our server and were very good. According to the menu here, Cleat's wings are the "official chicken wings of the [Cleveland] Indians."
