Eat here often & the food is generally good! Â However, just some of the waitstaff could be better. Â We've been waited on 2 or 3 times by a lady whose name starts with a J and she's yet to be happy, quick, or on the ball with refills, clearing plates, bringing the check, smiling, courtesy & etc. Â Would go into detail, but I don't want to seem like a disgruntled customer, because I do enjoy the food overall. Â However, as someone who has worked in the industry, frequents restaurants, & believes in taking care of servers this one person really may be in the wrong field.
Review Source:Came here for lunch on New Years Day expecting the same menu as Bass Lake Draft House (I thought they were owned by the same people, and they probably are, but there's a slightly different menu).
We opted to sit at the bar since we were kid free. Â Bartender was great...she was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the hubby enjoyed his Bloody Mary.
I ordered the french dip which is what I always order at Bass Lake and it was a little smaller & tougher than what I'm used to, but still tasty. Â Fries were good. Â Hubby enjoyed his Reuben with a side of cheese fries (only $1.50 to upgrade from regular fries to cheese fries).
Since we travel Hwy 42 regularly, I'm sure we'll be back when hungry & near the 40/42 interchange, especially since there aren't a lot of options other than fast food in the "Cleveland" area of Johnston County.
Very awkward coming in. No one at hostess desk and waited five minutes before WE found someone to seat us. Only one waitress  dining area. Food was okay.....caution on ordering kids meal pasta with butter. very small serving and doesn't come with anything else except a drink! No bread or salad. The manager even agreed with our opinion but offered no alternative.
Review Source:Great restaurant. Â It's setup like an older sports bar with the family dining on one side of the building and the bar on the other. Â Service was excellent, even with our having a trainee server, she and her mentor were attentive and knowledgeable. Â Other servers also attended to our drinks, plates and food service. Â The draft beer list is extensive and bar prices were reasonable. Â (A glass of white sangria ordered by a party member was absolutely HUGE.) The only "issues" keeping from the last star was that the dining area was darker than you'd think in a sports restaurant and the table was very sticky and although looked clean, was probably wiped down with a used table rag. Â We will most definitely go again.
Review Source:Great place to go and hang out on a week night and have some beers. Wait staff is always very polite and attentive. Food is great. One of those places where I'm not scared to try different things because everything is cooked to perfection. Also they are very accommodating to special requests and will try to make it work for you. Always clean. Never can tell what type of people will be joining you there but that's half of the fun :)
Always take out of town guests to experience the draft house.
Sports bar that my niece recommended for a "family" dinner. Service was good, food was good, beer choice was very good. Separate from the bar area (where they have at least one pool table) is a restaurant area with tables and booths..
I had the fried ravioli in a vodka sauce and it was reasonable. I have no doubt that they were frozen and not hand made. My nephew's chicken breast burger was a large piece of chicken on a large bun and he wolfed it down. My niece's chicken parm pasta was a good portion and it was very hot. Clean plates all around.
At $38 for three entrees, one beer and two sodas, I thought that it wasn't quite a "value" dining experience but it was solid and I would return.
Wifi hotspot worked fine, which pleased the kids since they're on iPods not iPhones.
The Cleveland Draft House is standard sports pub fare at about the price you'd expect. Â It's a decent place to grab a burger and fries in the area, and they have a pretty good selection of beers. The free music on the weekends is a small plus that keeps people ordering beers. Â This joint's not my favorite, but I have no real complaints. Â I've eaten here before and I'm sure I'll find myself back at some point.
*** Edit 2/22: Had a great meal at this restaurant last night that won me over officially from the stance I had above. Â I had no idea they had such delicious ribs, and tried them on a whim because they were the Tuesday special. Â Delicious piglet smothered in bbq sauce has earned these people an extra star from me.
We always sit on the bar side, so I don't know about the restaurant side. Â The staff is always very nice, but the other customers can be a little much. Â We go here a lot for convenience because it is close. Â My husband likes their club sandwich and I get whatever I am in the mood for that evening or day. Â It is almost always packed, and we have given up on trying to meet up with friends here due to lack of space for everyone to sit together. Â I think most of the clientele is people who go REALLY frequently.
Review Source:The Draft House is not an overwhelming large and loud sportsbar and yet not as sparse and uncomfortable as others we've visited. Â The balance struck in between is truly a sweet spot.
The bar is cozy and the booths are lined directly beside a large area of six pool tables. Â A few dart boards are nestled near a stage where they feature karaoke and Sat night bands. Directly opposite the bar region is a dining room which seems to be nice and quiet (although we've not eaten there.)
The food is really tasty! I've enjoyed the Reuben (absolutely scrumptious!), the Spinach salad (very fresh), the fried pickles (love.) and fried mushrooms (great.) Â The cheese quesadilla is large and cheesy. The French Dip is also quite nice.
They feature local craft beers including Lone Rider (fav.) and they rotate so the selections are always new. I went out on a limb and ordered a martini recently and it was very good! The portion was huge, which was refreshing since I've found most fancy-pants types of places skim on the serving size...
A nice bank of large screen tv's behind the bar and a few scattered in the corners ensure plenty of opportunity to view sports and racing.
The staff are extremely friendly, but they do get busy and with all the local chatter, you might find yourself waiting for a menu.
All in all, a great hangout!
I have left my I.D in this bar so many time it's not even funny and i think a review is long over due. this is just a great place to pre-game on a Friday or Saturday night. it's spacious , clean and has a great staff. the bar is well stocked and the food is great.(try the spicy Buffalo shrimp)
There is also a family area on the other side of the building for larger parties or for the one's who just want to eat with the family away from the excitement of the bar. there are a few poole tables there and of-course darts.. a bar just isn't a bar with-out darts.
But all in all a great place i would recommend everyone give a try.
Come to this place for lunch where you will consistently find good food and free pool during the day. Â It's literally around the corner from where I work so we go at least twice per week. Â The ribs are among the best I've ever had and you can try them on the $5.99 lunch menu or go on Tuesdays for the full rack (2 slabs) for $12.99.
I've come in the evening on a couple of occasions and is more of a bar scene and a wait to get a pool table which is great if that's what your after. Â My buddy says that gives him more time to drink! Â As for me, you will find me there for an hour of pool and lunch.
We've had dinner at The Cleveland Draft House a number of times. Â With the Bruins in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and my wife with a house full of women for the evening, I thought I'd meet a couple of buddies, check out the bar, and watch the game. Â (which of course, Boston won!!!!!!)
They have the best beer selection in Johnston County. Â They serve all of the standard British and American Ale selections as well as a fairly good representation of NC breweries. Â They have a good seasonal selection as well as eight "rotating taps" Â Wednesday night is $2.50 pint night with all draft pints available for $2.50. Â That's a hard deal to beat.
They have all of the expected sports packages and  plenty of TVs.  I was surprised at how crowded it was on a Wednesday night.
The service is generally pretty attentive. Â The bartenders are great.
Stick with traditional bar food and you'll be fine. Â They have a solid selection of burgers and sandwiches. Â I also like the onion rings. Â The wings are pretty good but, could be a little crispier.
All in all, this is a very good sports bar. Â Oh yeah, did I mention that the Bruins won the Stanley Cup?
So when I went to this place to celebrate some of my birthday and watch the NC State vs. Duke game, last month, I was a bit shocked. Â I thought I would see more people there. Â
We hung out in the bar area at a high table and we were pleasantly waited on. Â We were never wanting of service. Â Even at one point when my husband spilled a beer, they were pretty much right there to help clean up the spill.
Then of course when NC State was losing bad, I decided to play pool! Â Lots of tables and there was always a waitress there with a beer. Â I definitely drank more than my usual because of that. Â Yes, I do like my corona!
All in all, more people came later on to hang and it ended up being a good night!
