Okay...INCREDIBLE is just one word I would use to describe this place.
Visiting the area, we had eaten at Todd's Barbecue in Oakhurst the night before. Â Since the YELP reviews for Todd's were great, yet the food was not, I was NOT excited about eating at Miners Grill.
Let me tell you, EVERYTHING that my family and I ordered was O-mazing!!!
Between us we had: Â tri-tip sandwich, BLT, fish sandwich, French Fries and baked beans. Â
The tri-tip sandwich was literally one of the best we've ever tasted. Â The meat wasn't fatty and was so tender and flavorful. Â We come from the San Francisco Bay Area where we supposedly get fresh fish. Â Well...the fish in the sandwich at Miners Grill rivaled many of the better restaurants where we have eaten. Â It was amazing!!!
The BLT was excellent. Â The bacon was cooked perfectly, thick and had an excellent flavor. Â The baked beans that went with it were a meal of its own (very large "side" dish portion) and again, THE BEST I've eaten anywhere. Â
The service was friendly and very efficient. Â
The next time we are in the area, we will definitely come back to Miners Grill.
First, let me say I'm probably a little biased because the restaurant that was formerly in this spot was our favorite place for breakfast and we went at least twice a week. Â So of course we'd hoped this new place would be just as good but unfortunately it's just not. Â After a disappointing first visit where the food was heavy and kinda greasy diner style (particularly the potatoes) we tried it again six months later but had the same results. Â
On the upside, the place is cute and we liked that they changed from their original format and added table service rather than order-at-the-counter style. Â Our waitress was very friendly and we thought their Veteran's Day tribute to locals was great. Â Just wish they'd freshen up their cooking style.
Stayed in area for 3 days and yelped the other restaurant that used to be here and drove up to find this new one. It is located in the Coaresgold Historic Village, hard to see the place from the road. Glad we came, twice, for breakfast. Everything was great. The patio is the place to be under a huge fig tree, nice and cool. Stand outs were the pancakes and the bacon, albeit everything was delicious. Â Good coffee and services was just fine.
