Stopped here while staying in Watertown based on the many positive reviews. Â I probably expected too much but found the food to be average. Â I had the fish and chips which were bland though the texture of the beer batter was good. Â Someone else in my party had the Shepherds pie (actually Cottage Pie) which was mostly potatoes but got an average review. Â I wouldn't call it authentic Irish fare but there's not much competition in Watertown.
Review Source:Was in town on business and wanted to try something local. Â The decor is appropriate. Â The food was really good. Â I had the bangers and mash, my companion had fish and chips app portion and a house salad. Â There was A LOT of sausage on my plate. Â I love sausage though but I would have been happy with some more greens or something on my plate. Â The sausage had a good flavor. Â The gravy for the potatoes was good. Â My only gripe was that the starches could have been hotter. Â The potatoes tasted good but weren't that hot. Â The chips for my companion were not very hot either. Â He was please with the house salad though as it was made with romaine as opposed to iceberg. Â Overall, great value for the price.
