Visited my parents in TN and went to Connie's Kitchen for breakfast and it was great. Not much to look at but clean and neat and that is all I ask. They are open from 8am(?) until 2pm and you better get there early because they fill up fast. The food was really good. Portions are big and and pretty cheap. I got 2 eggs, a large portion of hash browns, biscuit and a country fried steak with gravy for 6.95. I will give anyplace that serves a good country fried steak 5 stars and this place does just that. Everything is freshly cooked and  you can tell. The wait staff was awesome, hustled their butts off and didn't let our coffee even come close to getting cold. Although I didn't get a chance to try them they make their own pies and they looked awesome. This is another one of those places that doesn't need to rely on a fancy setting to get people in the door because the food is that good. I will go back on my next visit. Keep up the great work Connie's Kitchen.

One word-awesome. This was our first visit. I don't know how many more visits it will take to try all the things I want. Mom had the biscuit sandwich and a side of corned beef hash. She said it was the best biscuit she ever had. I had the enchilada plate. One cheese and one beef topped with green chili and rice and beans. The beef was so finely ground and moist. The green chili was not as spicy as I expected but it had a really good flavor. We had pie for dessert. Mom had peanut butter chiffon which was so creamy. I had coconut cream which was the pie perfection I have been looking for on trips nationwide. Imagine I found it not 20 minutes from home! The crust is perfect as is the filling. Not sickeningly thick like some places ruin it by doing. And topped with meringue as any cream pie should be and not that gross topping that disappoints me so many places.
When we went to pay we saw the cinnamon rolls in the case. I have never seen huger. You must see to believe! I can not wait to go back and try many more items on the sizable menu. It may turn into our new Sunday habit.

Great local spot. Fresh food, good prices. Very busy mid-morning, so come early or a couple hours before close to get the best service.
