Mr Bob-E-Que

I've eaten at this place 3 or times in about that many years - I decided a few days ago to give them one last chance.  I did, and it was their last chance.

Got a carry-out order; pork sandwich, seasoned fries and potato salad.  I know, two potato-oriented side orders, what the heck.

The sauce was a mustard-base type.  I found it to be very bland - normally, I like this type sauce if it is spicy.  I thought this had a very buttery taste, just not to my liking that much.  The meat itself was cooked pretty well, fairly moist - but there was no smoke flavor, or not enough anyway.  The potato salad was okay - seemed to be more mayonnaise based than mustard - once again, sort of bland.  The seasoned fries were pretty good, actually.  Probably the high point of the meal.

I've never eaten anything but barbecue at this place - they have okay crowds at times.  Maybe some of the other food they have is dynamite.  But, for a barbecue-themed venue, it just isn't that great.  Save yourself some money and aggravation.  Go to the grocery store and buy a pack of microwaveable Cades Cove BBQ - it has twice the taste of this stuff.
