If you live in greenville and need to take someone on a looooovely date this is the place to fo it greenville DOESNT have alot to offer in terms of high(er) class dining but this place like the Starlight Cafe really raises the bar for everyone place in the area!
Cocktails:
The Bourbon Smash, goodness me......and I am a lover of good bourbon (coughcough blantons) and this drink is sooo refreshing its a delight to have over and over.
Sugar Cane Mojito, I dont inderstand mojitos they define summer for me their cool and deliscioud and the ones at Copper and Vine are sweet and arent loaded down with ice so one can actually enjoy them.
Food:
The Crabcakes......oh the crabcakes imagine like 8ounces of crab meat with a table spoon of breading they were prefection and im from the coast so I know a good crab cake....and the ones served here are amoung my favorites.
For dinner this was, my favorite part the tuna tare tare OMG and im not a tuna fan but they 'put their foot in it' I cant even talk about it mmmm just go out take someone you like and go this place is waaaay to good for greenville I wish it was here in raleigh it would be a sensation!!
Damn, came too late to hear Nolan's music- he was just packing up. Decided to have a drink anyway and wanted my fav violet Beauregard... epic fail, apparently they don't serve that anymore. A more classic bourbon smash was tasty in the light cocktail department but not poured heavy. It's too bad they close so early.
Review Source:I'm a fan.
I was looking for a place that was not the usual run of the mill restaurant in Greenville. I didn't know it would be difficult. As an out-of-towner, I was depending on Yelp to deliver. It did.
I knew I would like this place when they were playing Michael Jackson songs back to back. We sat upstairs. It has a nice date ambiance. The drinks were on-par. My friend had the Spanish tini, which is set on fire. It tastes like tiramisu. I had an old fashioned. It tasted like an old fashioned (bang fist on chest).
Food: Great. Portion sizes left me satisfied without being uncomfortably stuffed. The duck was delicious. We had the flat bread. Also delicious. Dessert? The panna cotta was a little runny.
I don't remember our server's name but he was excellent. He came around when we needed him and stayed away when we didn't. Not overbearing and not trying to hurry us along to leave.
I would recommend this place to anyone. I will be coming back!
PS- Nolan Smock played when we were there. His music was super chill. 5 stars for Nolan.
Perhaps we went on a bad night but I had only heard good things and greenville does not have much to offer so when my girlfriend and I went I was rather excited, she had been before and told me good things as well as many other friends. We went on a tuesday which when they had advertised a beer tasting that started at 7. We got there at 7:45 and were told the tasting was over because they "ran out". There were only two other parties in the restaurant, one of which was a guy alone at the bar so I do not see how they could have run out. This aside I still had high hopes. I'll start with the service, it was horrible to be kind. Our waitress asked us for a drink order and took over 10 minutes to come back with 2 waters, she then made herself a drink and stepped outside with a friend, she came back in 15-20 minutes later to take our dinner order. My water was empty, she said she would be right back with more, this never happened, she never came back until our food was ready, which the cook had to leave the kitchen to go outside and get her attention to bring her back in to get her to pick up our food because she was outside drinking and socializing again. She brought us our food, I asked for the water refill, she again cliamed shed be right back, I finished my entire meal before she came back with the water, we ordered dessert by the time she came with the water at which point both of us had empty glasses for the entire meal. When the dessert came out(which took way to long) she forgot spoons for us to eat it with, by the time she came back the dessert it had become hard and dry. As for the food, I'll be brief, Â it was poor. My girlfriend got lamb which ended up being ground and taste wise was indistinguishable of what kind of meat it was with a sauce that tasted like it had been mixed with A1. For both of our vegtables the only flavor was the salt poured on them. My dish was suposed to be a short rib but I am not quite sure what cut it was to be honest and my dish was missing two of the elements the menu claime dit would have but the service was so bad it was not worth the wait or hassle to complain. We only got dessert because we figured it owuld be impossible to mess up pre-made food but the waitress managed to do so by forgetting utencils to eat with, o well.
Review Source:I was visiting Greenville for business and was trying to find a non-chain restaurant with a nice atmosphere to take some clients for drinks and dinner. I hit the jackpot in finding Copper and Vine! They had a list of tasty, inventive drinks, a nice seasonal wine list, and absolutely delicious food! We had the bruscetta (so amazing, we ordered another plate) the crabcakes (again, so amazing, we ordered another!) the pimento grilled cheese, the lamb sliders and the incredible vegetable pomodoro. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious, fresh, seasonal...what you would expect from a farm-to-table establishment.
I saw someone who had reviewed that complained that they were out of some things on the wine list, but I didn't see that as a deterrent because they have what is seasonal and sustainable. I respect the restaurant for being so careful in their selection.
Next time I'm in Greenville, I am DEFINITELY going back!
Lovely little place with excellent food and live music on Thursday nights. The super talented (and fun and friendly!) Nolan Smock (and sometimes his musician friends) put on a great show and really get the night going...and keep it going. Thursday nights are the best!!
Stop in and see what they have on their ever changing, really gourmet menu...The chef here knows his craft!
A great addition to the Uptown Greenville Area, located inside the beautifully renovated Jefferson building, on both the ground floor, and up the stairs to the cozy bar area. Charming.
I had never made my way over here when it was a wine shop and I wish I had. Â They have a nice selection of wines and craft beers and I can only imagine the selection before, but between Dolce Vita and Winslows I think my wine needs are met.
Copper and Vine is something special though. Â I've been coming here for Super and Spirits with Nolan Smock on Thursday nights to enjoy a bottle of wine and hear sweet soothing covers and originals by Greenvilles own. Â I haven't had the opportunity to dip into their sides or dishes but have found myself smitten with a few of their red wines. Â
The atmosphere is nice without being stuffy, the staff is typically preoccupied but generally pleasant, and you can't really beat half priced wine on a Thursday night.
Come here, spend $15, listen to Nolan Smock... You'll be better for it.
A wonderful local lunch, dinner, and wine restaurant in historic downtown Greenville. Â
While most of Greenville is a sea of pizza joints, fast food, chain restaurants, and BBQ, this place is a cool independently owned oasis away from the strip malls. Â
They have some delicious small plate lunch and dinner options, and lots of variety when it comes to wine. Â Located in a renovated historic building, the atmosphere is very nice with restored wood floors, stamped tin ceilings, and two levels.
Taking over the space of the 4th Street Wine Shop, they've eliminated the downstairs wine shop and replaced the displays with tables. Â They offer food and small plates very similar to the business they replaced. Â It's always nice to see an upscale presence in downtown Greenville, considering both 4th St. and LA Lounge have recently closed. Â The wine selection at Winslow's is probably sufficient to replace the missing shop.
